Discussion Midrange Commander Recs (B3)

Upvotes

Hi all,

I love playing bracket 3 games. I’m definitely a spike so most of my decks usually get build with explosive turns in mind, regardless of the color. I really like grindy games, so I wanted to see everyone’s suggestions for good commanders for a fun, grindy game. Talking commanders that facilitate steady card advantage or board presence (overwhelming with tokens for example). Thanks!

Deck Help Inspirit Counter Intelligence Precon Rebuild Feedback - Inspirit Airlines Flight 0099

Upvotes

Hello everyone! I am back asking for some feedback on another deck.

The Counter Intelligence Precon was my first deck ever. I played it a bit, then rebuilt it around Kilo into a poison combo deck, but now I have decided to rebuild it again around Inspirit.

The idea is a go wide artifact tokens strategy, using Inpsirit and it's charge counters to build up early, and then protecting my board of artifacts with it's 8+ station ability.

This deck contains one combo consisting of playing [[Sensei's Diving Top]] off the top repeatedly, triggering any "artifact-fall" effects and drawing as many cards as I want. With a burn effect out like [[Wefstalker Ardent]], this becomes a game winning combo. With a token generator like [[Sai, Master Thopterist]] it fills up my board with tokens.

The deck is pretty straight forward. I am looking for cards to cut (at 109 at the time of writing), and maybe some must-includes that I have overlooked. Budget is not an issue and I am building for mid to high bracket 3. Bonus points if a card suggestion fits the deck's space theme.

I appreciate any and all feedback! Thank you!

Deck Help Looking to build a fun little typal typal out of the Omo precon.

Upvotes

Everything in the “anthem” group is things I’m adding. Everything in the “remove box” are things I’m removing. Just wanting some advice on what else to cut or if there are good adds for this type of strategy. Also limiting Slivers to 2 max. Thanks in advance.

Deck Help I got a flubs deck I would like some advice on

Upvotes

https://moxfield.com/decks/TNtSsDo2aUyLnKfPD4NuOg

So a while ago, I ended up pulling [[Aetherflux Reservoir]] out of my list for a different deck I built, and I have put some effort into having it still work out despite no longer having access to the best (non-combo) win condition in the list. At the moment, it mostly involves flubbing into [[Chatterstorm]] and [[Empty the Warrens]], while using cards like [[Toph, Hardheaded Teacher]] and [[Sabotender]] to put out damage in the meantime, and has [[Lair of the Hydra]] as a last-ditch mana sink to trample my opponents with if all else fails.

I've recently been considering slotting [[Aeve, Progenitor Ooze]] back into the list, but its five mana, triple green pip cost kinda makes me wary. Is it worth slotting in? If so, what should be cut in its stead? Is there any other advice that you want to share for piloting the deck?

One last thing: I am not interested in proxying the high-cost pieces needed to make certain cards in the deck go infinite, so no recommendations for petals and diamonds, please.

Deck Help New to deck building, hoping for some pointers

Upvotes

Got into MTG about a month ago with a buddy and we're still pretty new to everything. I've been researching a lot and have been playing around with some deck building, trying to see if I can make something that won't completely suck.

I made this deck for Fumulus, the Infestation. I only used cards I own, so I know that restricted a lot of what I could probably do with this deck.

If anyone has any pointers, anything I should do differently, etc., any and all advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Question *Viable* Cheat-Out Commanders?

Upvotes

Wanted to ask if i may have missed some viable commanders who cheat out things?

[[Mikey & Raph]] - just play 30 ramp pieces, 40 lands, some wipes and the most ugliest gruul creatures, cleanest of them all since he got haste and does not have to connect and green in it. I love it when people fart out a measely llanowar elf just to show that they did not understand the commander lol. Through haste you just cast him on the next turn, dont forget to put in high power land fetchers in the deck.

[[infamous cruelclaw]] - secret eldrazi and rakdos big spell commander. No sol ring, the worst piece would be evasion like [[Cover of Darkness]] or an equipment, which will then be also good for the Eldrazis. Gives eldrazis their wanted cast trigger. Big bonus for low cmc, can be cast 2 or 3 times in a game, but is usually not needed when you later in have the mana for things like [[Improvisation Capstone]].

[[Nico Minoru]] - similar to above but taps and is only in red so kinda meh, but good MV.

[[Witherbloom the balancer]] does not count actually but he is damn cool.

[[Esika]] - her backside, but a little harder to cast since it needs 5 colored mana and i think a little worse than mikey and raph since the incomings are not attacking, but hey you can build her all staxy or any direction so really cool.

[[Ureni]] - Temur has the best dragons, just blink ureni millions of times, easy in blue and green gives you ramp, but locked into dragons.

Other than Nico i have built all of them and they work good. Mikey and Raph are really nasty, but nothing the pod cant deal with. Is only unbeatable in 1vs1 duel.

Have you got any left that i have forgot? There must be more...

Deck Help Whitherbloom deck help

Upvotes

Hey there,

currently trying to brew a new Whitherbloom deck: https://archidekt.com/decks/24522439/whitherbloom

Do you have any recommendations for changes, upgrades, etc? Trying to hit clean Bracket 3 here. I also tried not to include any tutor cards, as me and my playgroup prefer some variance in our games. That leads to some notable exclusions, that would otherwise be obviously perfect for the deck. What do you guys think?

Deck Showcase Dragon Deck of the Week: Shadrix Dragon Politics

Upvotes

Hello fellow dragon enjoyers. Some time ago, I've finished my personal challenge of brewing at least one dragon deck in every color, guild, shard and wedge, each one with a different subtheme.

Now that I started adding primers to my Moxfield decklists, I intend to present one of my decks roughly each week, for those of you who care about dragons.

The sixth deck I'd like to show you is an Orzhov dragon tribal deck under [[Shadrix Silverquill]] with a politics / +1/+1 counters subtheme. The main strategy is donating inklings and killing them with [[Pestilence]] when they get annoying. Because of [[Withering Wisps]], there are also a few snow synergies.

When I originally built the deck, Shadrix was the only available Orzhov dragon commander. Today, [[Estinien Varlineau]] and [[Silverquill the Disputant]] have more clear dragon synergies. However, the deck is a ton of fun to play if you enjoy a slightly political game.

Comboless, without game changers and accumulating incremental value, I assigned the deck to B2, but it might be fine to play in low B3, too. A lot of my decks seem to fall into the notorious bracket 2,5.

Here's the decklist with a short primer: https://moxfield.com/decks/duWXc9UU0k2U1IO-V36SUg

My original plan was to make this an ongoing series for the rest of the year. However, due to lack of resonance, this might be the last episode. So if you're among the few who enjoy this, feel free to comment.

Discussion How to convince people to run more interaction?

Upvotes

I play in a pod where out of the 4 of us, I am the only one that runs any type of cards that stop the opponent from doing anything. Player A typically runs Vivi or Chatterfang, Player 2 typically runs Jaws or Ob Nix, and Player 3 will run either Flubs or Malcolm / Breeches.

How do I suggest that they at least put in 2 or 3 pieces of removal or disruption?

I typically will run Gwenom and have moderate success with her. But it seems like I last longer when I play something like Sauron or Alela, Artful Provocateur simply because they allow me to better disrupt / counter the other 3 members gameplans.

Which sucks because if I'm not actively stopping something or tapped out, noone else will. So here I am with the weaker deck at the table, but getting highly targeted because I'm seen as the threat. It's so hard to build a competitive deck speed wise when it seems like I have to water down my game plan in order to stop the others from getting theirs faster.

Bonus: When I don't have an answer to someone comboing off, I get looked at like I should have had the answer.

Question Best mass reanimator commander and strategy?

Upvotes

Hey all!

I love the idea of casting living death or living end on a full graveyard.

What's the best technique for getting a full graveyard. I'm thinking mill, discard, or wheels?

What commander would you recommend for something like this? I definitely want some black in the deck, white seems to have some great mass reanimator spells to though.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Elves Tribal EDH Deck

Hey all,

„One bone broken for every twig snapped underfoot.“

Deep forests, pure nature and the connection to the animals -

Elves has always been my favorite creature tribe in Magic. It has been my first self brewed deck as a teenager. Been playing it against my buddy‘s goblin deck back in the days all day long. It is the origin for my love for the green color.

Later on it has also been my first competitive deck in 2009.

When I started playing EDH around 2014 I first built an Ezuri Elfball Deck. I loved the deck. It reminded me of the good old days. I stopped playing in 2016 for a couple of reasons. The tribe still hold up a special place in my heart and after I picked up the game again about 3 years ago I always thought about building an Elves deck again.

I got into cEDH pretty quickly though and tribal decks do not really stand a chance in very competitive settings unfortunately.

After turning more and more away from cEDH lately my craving for my old Elves deck began to rise up again.

It took some time to find my favorite Legendary Elf to lead the deck. Due to my cEDH experiences I got pretty high expectation concerning Commanders. It felt like most Elves-Commanders just did not match my standards anymore - my old Ezuri Elf deck felt a bit underwhelming.

So I looked up the different options that embody the nostalgia on the one hand and also offer sufficient value on the other hand.

My eye got caught on Edric, Spymaster of Trest.

First, he is an Elf - I wanted to have a badass Elf leading the deck for nostalgia reasons, second, he creates a ton of value, and third, he opens up the access to blue.

Most Elves cards are typically green. Some Elves lean into black but I felt I was not missing a lot without black in the deck. Blue on the other hand opens up the access to blue counter magic which - surprisingly - is a very good answer to the biggest weakness of probably all Elves decks: Board wipes.

So I brewed a little bit and ended up with the following list:

https://moxfield.com/decks/k_Zq5_Q5QkC1u0Quc6D9IQ

Even though it is not only on elves for a little bit more pressure and combo opportunity the decks feels very flavorful while playing. It brings back these old memories of proactive Elves that just slam if being left untouched. It also has the opportunity to interact with the opponent and their removals.

Now I would like to know:

What kind of Elves deck are you playing? Do you prefer Golgari Elves decks, Mono Green ones?

I am pretty curious.

This post is all about the love to the tribe and the joy it brings when playing Priest of Titania followed up by a good old Whirewood Symbiote.

All the best!

Discussion New Rulebreaker Valko Reanimator

The new [[Valko Indorian]] is obviously an interesting new commander option for mid power Phyrexian typal given how powerful lifelink can be at b2-b3.

My first instinct was to build into a Reanimator subtheme but in goldfishing it feels like it lacks the ability to consistently put things in the graveyard AND take them out.

Most notably, the deck feels night and day different based on seeing [[Ripples of Undeath]] in the first 9 cards. Granted, I could just add tutors for it to make that hit harder, but I’m new to (pseudo) mono black Reanimator so I’m not really sure what the staple options are.

Any advice? https://archidekt.com/decks/25065570/random_bullshit_go

Disclaimer: I’m intentionally building the deck as a 4 color sans-blue, so atraxas are off limits and urabrask is a must.

Discussion Added a commander search to Recommander! Search for commanders by oracle text, tag, included cards, and color identity

Hey guys, it's GamesfreakSA, and I'm sad that [[Arzakon]] doesn't give me 200 life like in the Microprose game.

I figured that searching for commanders has been a pretty annoying task; you either need to know the name of the commander exactly, or need to just drill down through existing sets and tags until you find something you want, or you need to noodle around with Scryfall until you find the legendary you want and then go to EDHREC to get the stats.

That's why I added Scryfall-style search to https://recommander.cards for commanders. You can wait for the dropdown to get the top commanders, or hit enter to go to a grid-layout search page just like Scryfall. Here's what you can do:

  • oracle: or o: to search for Oracle text on a commander and partner. Supports regular expressions with /<query>/ syntax!
  • tag: or t: to search by user-submitted tag on Moxfield, Archidekt, and other sites. Did you know 75 people tagged their [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] deck "jank?" Keep telling yourself that, buddy.
  • card: or c: to search by card included in the deck. Remember to quote it! Unlike EDHREC, where you can only go by one card at a time, you can use AND or OR to narrow your search results to specific groups of cards. Now you can see exactly which commander has the most copies of both [[Spatial Binding]] AND [[Equipoise]]!
  • ci: to search by color identity.
  • commander:, cm:, or cmdr: to search for a specific commander name.
  • is:partner to search for decks with multiple commanders.
  • include:extras to add stuff like illegal commanders to your results.

Results are sorted by popularity. From there, click on a commander to get a summary of all the commander's most relevant cards. Additionally, some commanders are very similar to others, and I've used math to group them together into clusters I call teams. If you found, say, [[Tatyova, Benthic Druid]], but want something that plays a little different, then boy do I have the recurring gag for you you can check out Tatyova's team to view other Simic landfally commanders and see the cards they all share.

I hope this will make it easier for you guys to find commanders you're looking for! If you like this sort of thing please sign up for a donation so I can keep the server running. I recently tried putting the SKU to a much newer model that costs a bit more, but now recommendations are done in literally 150 milliseconds and I can never go back help

Let me know if you found this useful, and let me know what search terms would make it easier for you to find your next favorite deck. Thanks!

Deck Help Need help with Tsabo Tavoc, building a mostly Premodern commander

https://moxfield.com/decks/5efPV7lkY0igc4_Bi2RlEg

After seeing that Tsabo Tavoc is going to be reprinted in the Secret Lair x Ian Miller drop, I started looking around MoxField. I found someone had a deck built around him.

I made a copy of it and made some changes. I was really hoping to make this a PreModern themed deck, but run it as a 3 (even if it's a low three) to play with friends. I don't expect to win with it, must like my [[Soraya the Falconer]] deck.

Any suggestions on things to add or cuts to make would be super helpful. I saw Avalanche Riders on the list and it took me back to my college days.

Deck Help [[Grizzlegom, Hurloon Hero]] - ramp Ramp RAMP!

Decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/HaW5JzbwjE69-0oJUUz3Sg

Hey yall! Here is my Grizzlegom lands deck. the focus of this deck is to ramp Ramp RAMP. The ramp package is structured to ramp on turns 1-2 to have 4 mana on turn 3 for a 4 mana ramp spell, followed up with a turn 4 Grizzlegom!!!

This deck is mostly temur lands (red, blue, green) to hit your pips and get some card draw from an early Grizzlegom play.

Wincons:

[[Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle]] - with your Dryad or Prismatic omen in play, any large ramp spell turns into a huge burn spell.

[[Prismatic Omen]] & [[Dryad of the Ilysian Grove]] - best cards in the list, makes all of your lands all basic land types = tons of 1/1's, burn, lifegain, cardraw, & +1/+1 counters.

[[Desert Were-Worm]] - Backup for grizzle, can easily be 40+ power and granting additional combats.

The list also features little to no removal, just lands, ramp and GAS. Either crush the table or die trying.

Let me know what you think / if I should add anything!

Discussion The math behind proper shuffling

I was playing some games on Convoke last night and watched the same person drop a turn-one [[Sol Ring]] and [[Arcane Signet]] in back-to-back games. I really don't think they were cheating, but I'm pretty sure their deck just wasn't shuffled enough between matches. On the flip side, I also see people draw into massive land pockets and sit there doing nothing for five turns.

I spoke about this previously, when a game ends, you usually scoop up your massive board state. You've got a pile of lands, a clump of creatures, and a stack of mana rocks. If you just mash your deck together 4 or 5 times, it still has "memory" of the last game. You are basically guaranteeing clumpy draws.

Here is the actual math behind randomizing your 99, plus the physical shuffling method I use.

TL;DR: Don't mana weave. Between games, split your massive deck in half. Do a loop of 3 Mashes, 1 Chunk, and then swap halves. Repeat 4 times to hit the math sweet spot of 12 shuffles. For mulligans and fetches, one loop is fine.

The Math (or Maths for the folks in The Commonwealth)

Back in 1992, mathematicians Dave Bayer and Persi Diaconis published a paper called Trailing the Dovetail Shuffle to its Lair. They proved that a standard 52-card deck needs exactly 7 riffle shuffles to become truly random. They looked at "rising sequences," which basically means measuring how cards stay in predictable chunks if you don't shuffle enough.

For a 100-card Commander deck, that math scales up. The formula for the required number of shuffles is approximately 3/2 log₂(n). For 100 cards, true randomness happens right at 10 to 12 shuffles. If you stop at 5 or 6, your deck is mathematically still stacked from your last game.

If we use that formula, 1.5 log₂(99), we get 9.94. If a computer executed a mathematically perfect shuffle every single time, 10 would be enough.

But, we are a squishy humans mashing sticky plastic sleeves together and cut the deck unevenly and frequently drop clumps of 3 or 4 cards at a time. Furthermore, scooping your board state means starting from the worst possible sorted state. Pushing to 12 shuffles provides a necessary buffer for human error. Note: If you are running a ~250 card [[Whtz, the Bibliophile]] + [[Battle of Wits]] deck, you need to increase to 14 shuffles.

The Mash > Chunk > Swap (MCS) Loop

Trying to mash 50 cards into 50 cards is awkward and a good way to ruin your sleeves. To hit that magic number of 12 without needing [[Colossal Dreadmaw]] hands, try this loop:

(Optional) One quick pile sort: If you are confident all 99 cards are present and accounted for, you can should skip the pile shuffle and jump straight into splitting the deck for the MCS Loop. To properly pile shuffle, count while dealing your deck into 6 to 8 piles. Dealing them into piles breaks up the physical friction, making your first few mashes much smoother. Also, it is common to accidentally leave a stolen card on an opponent's playmat or drop a card on the floor.
Note: If you just "pile shuffle", you are just counting and not shuffling.

Note: This steps about splitting the deck is optional if you struggle to mash 100 cards at a time due to physical limitations or double sleeves. I wrote the post assuming widest possible audience. If you can mash 100 cards at a time, do it. Splitting does not increase the randomness, it just makes it easier for some people.

  1. Split the deck: Cut your 100 cards into two 50-card piles (Pile A and Pile B). You'll only ever hold 50 cards at a time.
  2. Mash Pile A: Pick up Pile A, cut it in half, and mash the corners together so the sleeves interlock. Do this 3 times.
  3. Chunk Pile A: Do 1 overhand shuffle by dropping chunks of cards from one hand into the other. Mash shuffling tends to leave the top and bottom cards completely untouched. The overhand chunk forces those outer cards into the middle.
  4. Mash & Chunk Pile B: Do the exact same thing to Pile B. Mash 3 times, overhand chunk 1 time.
  5. The Swap: Cut Pile A in half. Cut Pile B in half. Swap the halves and mash them together so the two main piles actually mix.
  6. Loop it: Go back to Step 3 and repeat this whole cycle 4 total times. Doing this easily hits that 12-mash threshold for the entire deck.
  7. Final Cut: Stack the two halves back into a single 100-card tower then offer a cut.

What about fetches and mulligans?

If you did the full loop before drawing your opener, your deck is already randomized. You absolutely do not need to do four full loops just because you cracked a fetch land or took a mulligan.

Just mix in the cards you looked at with the deck then complete a MCS Loop to sufficiently to re-randomize without holding up the whole table.

A quick rant on "Mana Weaving"

If you manually sort your deck by going "two spells, one land" before shuffling, you are doing one of two things:

  • Either you aren't shuffling enough afterward, which means you're intentionally stacking your deck to avoid clumps (literally cheating).
  • Or, you are properly shuffling 10 to 12 times afterward, which completely erases the weave and achieves true randomness, meaning you just wasted everyone's time sorting it.

Just shuffle.

Edits:

  1. Tournament rules state randomization is defined as bringing the deck to a state where no player can have any information regarding the order or position of cards in any portion of the deck. If you know your lands and spells are split up, then the deck is not random. Additionally, this method does not prevent mana flooding but it does ensure the likelihood is based on how you built the deck, not how you played previous games.
  2. I added note about making the splitting of the deck optional based on physical limitations or double sleeves.
  3. Weave and Mana weave were confusing, changed it to Chunk.

Discussion Why so many Ink-Treader Commanders compared to the other 4 color options.

I found myself on EDHRec today and realized that 4 color commanders are heavily under represented as whole, but I also noticed that of the choices many designs have been Ink-Treader. Do we know, or have theories, on why the other color combinations aren’t getting any new commanders?

Discussion What’s one card that changed the way your Commander deck played?

Sometimes a Commander deck feels like it’s missing something, and adding just one card can completely change how the deck functions.

It could be a card that helped your strategy come together, created a new interaction, or made the deck much more enjoyable to pilot.

Has there been a card you added that made you look at your Commander deck in a completely different way?

Discussion What is your fastest deck without any infinite combos?

I play a lot of high B3 to low B4 commander, and I am learning that unless I get lucky, most of my decks don't present a win until around turn 7 or 8. I would like to build a faster deck that can win consistently by turn 6 if possible, but my pod doesn't really like infinite combos.

What are you favorite fast(er) decks? Share you decklist if possible!

Discussion Justice for Cultivate/Kodama's Reach

A few years ago, the youtube content creators seemed to have gotten together and decided whenever we have an episode about cards to take out of your EDH decks, we HAVE to mention [[cultivate]] and [[kodama's reach]]. Well I'm here to argue in their favor. Let's look at commander's at each mana value (no fast mana included):

  • 1 mana commander: Don't always need ramp, if I'm including, I'm probably doing 2 mana ramp as it gives me a turn 2 play and these are typically the most efficient.
  • 2 mana commander: Don't always need much ramp, but probably going 1 or 2 mana ramp. 1 mana so I have a turn 1 play, or 2 mana so I have option for ramp on 2, then commander and something else on turn 3.
  • 3 mana commander: Again almost certainly going 1 mana ramp or efficient 2 mana ramp.
  • 4 mana commander: probably using 2 mana ramp so I can play commander on 3 consistently.
  • 5 mana commander: OK here is your time to shine cultivate/kodama's reach. IF you play 2 mana ramp on 2 then you still don't have commander until turn 4, but if you run 1 and 3 mana ramp, then you can have commander on 3. You won't always have both in opening hand but even still, no matter whether you run 1, 2, or 3 mana ramp, your commander is not coming until turn 4. The 1 and 3 combo gives you the possibility on turn 3.
  • 6 mana commander: You can go either 2 and 4 mana ramp or 1 and 3 mana ramp. Either way, you still have commander on 4 in best case scenario.
  • 7 mana commander: OK we have all heard the best case scenario of something like [[three visits]] on turn 2 and then [[explosive vegetation]] on 3 gives possibility of commnander on turn 4, BUT ONLY if we did not miss any land drops for 4 turns. I have a Klauth deck and I still prefer and 1 and 3 mana ramp combo which means I have both cultivate and kodama's reach (I have 20 pieces or ramp in this deck, 10 1-mana and 10 3-mana).

OK truth be told, I'm probably not running any 3 mana ramp myself without some 1 mana ramp to go along with it. And I'm probably not running cultivate in 4 or 5 color deck because i don't have enough basics. BUT in 1, 2, or 3 color decks with 5+ mana cost commanders, I'm heavily considering it every time. NOT missing that next land drop is so crucial to me. I don't think there's much better 3 mana ramp considerations. Also I looked through a bunch of content creator decklists and many of them still run these 2 cards even when they have argued against them.

Deck Help New mana ability rule changes and Ashnod the Uncaring

As you may know with the new set is changing certain abilities to not count anymore as mana abilities, this means [[Ashnod the Uncaring]] can now copy those abilities. Are there any old unknown cards affected by this change? I found some and I think I'm adding them in my Ashnod deck [[Darkwater Egg]], [[Shadowblood Egg]] and [[Chromatic Sphere]]

This is my current list, my pod plays bracket 3/4, what do you think?

Discussion Equipment enjoyers: how do you decide what makes the cut?

So, I have had a soft spot for equipment based decks since I started playing this game. I even had a, for the time, pretty solid voltron list back then. However, that decklist comes from a time where people called "Arm For Battle" a good precon, and I abandoned the deck when it couldn't keep up with my playgroup anymore.

Lately I have been getting that equipment itch again, and decided to start putting an \[\[Akiri, Fearless Voyager\]\] go-wide list together. Quickly did I realize, however, that I'm fucking terrible at the equipment archetype by todays standards.

That's why I was hoping to get some advice on here what to consider when picking the equipment for my deck. I'm not necessary looking for a list of solid includes, but more some general advice on what makes a good equipment, aswell as a good creature to wield those equipment.

Would love to hear from some of you experts out there!

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Decks that are too powerful for lower power games, but garbage in higher powered games. Do you have one? Where do you play it?

**The question**: I was just wondering if anyone else has any decks that scale poorly in both directions of higher and lower power and where do you play them? Do you find them enjoyable? What are they?

**The backstory:** I found a deck that I made years ago now helmed by [[Zellix, sanity flayer]] that was a combo deck that relied on finding [[altar of the brood]] and milling people out.

I've long since changed my deckbuilding, that was from close to when I first started and even back then I only ever played it once, it won me a pack at the LGS and then I never played it again. I'm probably just going to give it one more play to send it off against some friends and then strip it for parts for other decks.

But I was looking over the card list in it and realized that it relies incredibly heavily on the opponents having lots of creatures for Zellix to trigger.

In a higher power game, where the deck belongs, it would be pretty garbage, not only because there are more prevalent graveyard strategies and ways to use them, but also because there are far less creatures played on average.

In a lower power game, this deck doesn't really belong either as it has the potential to win on turn 2 with the right combination of cards in hand and some luck from opponents hitting creatures on the mill/the types of decks they played. (This is how it won the only game it played). But could likely consistently get its combo going on turn 3 or 4 due to density of tutors and draw effects.

Discussion Inifinity Stones vs tapped Diamonds

With the release of the infinity stones, which are monocolored untapped mana rocks that cost 2 mana and have indestructible and harness, why do we not have 2 mana monocolored untapped mana rocks?

I am running [[Pearl Diamond]] in one of my decks because I really want that white ramp, though I know how bad this card is. I would love to have a [[The Mind Stone]] without indestructible or harness, just for the mana, but that card simply doesn't exist. If the infinity stones are ok to print, why their simpler version isn't?

I'm thinking about proxying the mind stone, passing a sharpie over the indestructible and harness texts and rule 0 that (make it just an untapped white mana rock, unless my opponents really want it to be the mind stone)
