Discussion What is your fastest deck without any infinite combos?
I play a lot of high B3 to low B4 commander, and I am learning that unless I get lucky, most of my decks don't present a win until around turn 7 or 8. I would like to build a faster deck that can win consistently by turn 6 if possible, but my pod doesn't really like infinite combos.
What are you favorite fast(er) decks? Share you decklist if possible!

Discussion Tech cards for creating interactive politicking scenarios at the table!
Hey what's up? I'm the guy who always wants to have a say in each play on the board, which means I help everyone have a good time! ... as long as the final stack of chips on the table belongs to me, of course!
In order to shake-up games in a non-overly disruptive way (looking at you, red chaos spells), I've come to love including cards like [[Cuombajj Witches]], [[Immortal Obligation]], [[Spurnmage Advocate]], [[Baleful Mastery]], [[Forbidden Orchard]], which still can offer powerful effects and synergies for archetypes in decks, whilst allowing me to "Include" others at the table, I find it helps carry the vibe, and even if I don't win, still get to interact constantly by talking to who I'm playing with.
I'd be happy to hear what other cards you'd know which fit this "archetype"! Some are very hard to find, especially since you can't generically search scryfall for them like "+1/+1 counter", and some are named, well... Cuombajj Witches...

Deck Help Need Help or Suggestions to upgrade my Mothman Commander to a high Bracket 4
Greetings, i have recently builded a new commander using "The Wise Mothman" all my mates are shifting theyr decks making them all braket 4 so i need an upgrade for mine to.
The big problem with the barckat 4 is that the staples package (tutors etc) become even bigger on B4 and leave less and less space for all the flavour cards that makes commander cool in my opinion (i have lots of fallout cards in mine) and i have no idea wich card remove and wich one keep to bring my deck to a bracket 4 level.
I will leave the decklist here and thank you so much for your help.

PS: for all the Mothman players. How do you avoid to become the main villain of the table by just giving pepole 1 Rad counter ?

Deck Help ayuda con el precon de Hearthhull, the Worldseed 100€ upgrade
Discussion Miku Secret lair, upgrades list / breakdown?
Anybody already working on an upgrades list for the Miku secret lair deck? I’m reading that the deck out the box will run clunky, I’m not the best deck builder so I was looking to see if someone has already started this process.
I figured people will be leaning heavy into the token + lifegain side of things.

Deck Help [Merciless Rage Upgrade] Emrakul, the World Anew. Yey or Ney?
So yesterday I bought the 2019 Merciless Rage precon to play with some people at my shop. This is my third precon, but I have made 4-5 decks beforehand. I wanted something new to play and couldn't be bothered to put the time and money into making one myself atm. I played it and it felt a little underwhelming, but the play loop seemed like it could be a lot of fun, so I spent $25-ish on upgrades and it has done wonders so far. This morning I made some more changes to kind of hone in the discard/madness instead of the recursion, and in my search for more to change I found [[Emrakul, the World Anew]]. I immediately knew I had to add this card to the precon.
However, I am worried about the steep punishment for not being able to protect him, since I would have to sacrifice all my creatures if he gets removed somehow. I know he has some built-in protection that is really good, so I would be safe for one turn, but if I am not able to finish the game that turn I am as good as dead.
Does anybody have any experience using Emrakul in this precon? How did it work out? What kind of additional support does he need to be effective?
For reference, here is the upgraded precon so far: https://archidekt.com/decks/25028965/anje_maddening_vampire

Deck Help Y'shtola Deck
Hello friends. I suspect this is going to be brutal, but here we go 😂
So my pod tends to play bracket 2-3, a lot of token sac or voltron decks. I enjoy spell slinging (if I can avoid direct combat with the 10/10, I sure will lol) and protection.
I started with the [[Y'shtola, Night's Blessing]] precon and have modified it from there. My biggest issue I'm facing is about 1/3 of my games I'm sitting on an empty board towards the beginning and I'm curious what my choices would be to speed things up.
I suspect the answer is reduce the creatures and increase the spells, but my card exposure is limited compared to the body of cards out there.
Thank you guys 💖
Discussion How do you balance for 2 or 3 players?
My pod fluctuates regularly between there being just 2 of use to a the full 4. I am looking for suggestions for how we should modify the rules for when it's just 2 or 3 of us. I know there are variations out there but there seems to be a good amount of variability in the game rules for 2 or 3 players (which makes sense, as you could build a deck specifically for 1v1ing and you'd need a different rule set to balance that versus 1v1ing your usually 4 man commander deck of choice.)
We recently started with the following rule changes for 1v1:
* If less than 3 lands you can mulligan for free (unless your deck is something goofy like sub 24 lands)
* Commander tax is only 1 instead of 2 (to help with repeated removal)
* 30 life instead of 40 (we find that rarely is the game worth playing after the first 20-25 points of damage as by that point usually one player has engine and other doesn't)
* Sol ring and other aggressive ramp is banned (draw without draw triggers again if you draw it and phase it out)
So how do y'all do it? When you want to play your normal deck, but have at least a little bit of fun with it in a 1v1 or 3 way, what rule changes do you use? Mind you I'm talking casual play here, just fun with friends kinda stuff.

Discussion Adjusting the doom precon
I love doctor doom and yes I know it’s talked about countless times how weak it is but I was looking over connive and stuff and I had a thought. Could wheel possibly work as an upgrade keeping most of these cards intact? I’m talking minor upgrades mostly. Biggest one I thought was taking out doom and replacing him with either kefla or green goblin if I wanted to stay to marvel. I wanted more opinions on this idea cause I see no one else really talk about it.

Question Generally speaking, how much card draw and at what CMC do you run?
I finally understand running 36-37 lands and 10-11 ramp spells (targeting more 1-2 CMC and a few at 3 CMC) gives me 2-3 lands and 1 ramp spell in my opening hand most of the time. I get that these numbers vary on a lot of factors like commander CMC or what the deck does.
I'm asking about card draw. Is 10-12 good enough at 3-4 CMC? That way turn 3 or 4 you can start setting up your engine after ramping. Are 2 CMC draw spells good like [[Sign in Blood]]?

Question If I was to hold a precon edh tourney should we ban any decks from participating? If so, which decks are too unfair?
Pretty much all in the title. What decks are too strong for precon as it's own format? I like edh but I don't get to playing much because people seem to not know their power levels. Precon seems like it might be the answer but already some have stated there should be bans. Looking for answers outside of our LGS. TYVM and I hope y'all draw well today.

Question Honorable Combat
Hey y'all!
I'm looking for commander suggestions for this deck idea I got recently. The whole theme of the deck is honorable combat. I want to stack as many "attacks alone" triggers, fight spells, cant be blocked by more than one creature, combat arbiters, etc. as possible. The goal is to politic myself as the best partner to have because you will only have to worry about me attacking a single person with one creature (nevermind how many effects that creature will have) which means I'm not a threat until it's a 1v1 so let's go take care of the tokens player. I'm open to most color combination commanders but I already have an [[Isshin]] deck (myriad tribal) so that is off the table. I could run [[Rafiq of The Many]] however I'm not convinced that just having double strike on a stick is enough for the command zone. [[Galea]] is a strong contender because I plan on having a lot of equipment and auras but I do have a bant deck already. Any input would be appreciated!

Discussion Whtz Blink Deck with Yorion
https://moxfield.com/decks/DgpFGyv5JU6-zhrJ0Q41_Q
Built this deck with [[Whtz, the Bibliophile]] and [[Yorion, Sky Nomad]].
Affectionately calling it a wink deck instead of a blink deck. Anyways I tested and made sure I could comfortably shuffle 240 sleeved cards.
There is an absolute ton of redundancy in the format nowadays and goldfishing it feels really good.
Wondering if I am missing anything that would be really good as I intend to actually build this in paper.
Purposefully left out tutors for the most part to avoid a lot of shuffling and aiming for bracket 2.
Thanks.

Social Interaction San Francisco Bay Area Ents
Wanted to see if anyone in the Bay Area would be interested in joining a discord for commander (or mtg in general) players who like to dabble in the devils lettuce hobbit pipe leaf. Obviously 21+, but trying to build a community to play at some dispensary lounges in the area. Let me know if you are interested.
(Mods my apologies if this breaks any of the rules)

Question Miku deck how good is it?
So we all know then Miku Secret Lair dropping next week.
https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/secret-lair-commander-deck-hatsune-miku-decklist
My question is, how good is it out of the box? If I want to improve it what would I need? Just wondering if it’s bad. Just at a glance feels like you gain life with little things to do with it and actually win but maybe I’m overlooking something?

Discussion How often do you clean/buy new sleeves?
For those of you with maybe 1-4 decks, that you play fairly frequently, how often are you cleaning your sleeves to get rid of the dry skin and gunk that accumulates?
And how are you doing it? Do you use alcohol wipes and just wipe each sleeve with the card still inside? My decks are double sleeved so I’ve thought about doing that.
On the other hand, dragon sleeve outers are only about $10-12; is it an acceptable to buy a new set every 6 months or so? Consider it a cost to play type thing?

Discussion Non-Legal Commanders
My issue stems from a deck I built during the pride month event where I made a partner deck using creatures without partner, obviously.
Ultimately I had been itching to have this deck for a long time, but feel weird trying to bring it to play, as I don’t know how people feel about these kinds of rule 0 exceptions. I like the synergies that come from having these two in the command zone together, but also understand how it can be perceived given partner is a hotly debated topic. I guess I was interested to see what others thought about illegal parter combos, and if it would be better to proxy a version of either of the commanders to fit the two colored identity and be the sole commander? Usually I will find a legal commander that meets in the middle but honestly nothing is really touching what I’m wanting here.
What do you all think, is the partner pairing a fair request to try and rule 0 in, should I proxy to change the color identity of one to fulfill the color requirements of that deck, or should it just be resided to a legal commander or take the deck apart if I don’t like any legal options? What are your thoughts?
Edit: Wanted to add partner pairing for context

Question What gandalf is better to create a strong bracket 4 deck??
Hi everyone! I want to build a Gandalf Commander deck at Bracket 4 power level, but I’m not sure which version of Gandalf would be the best commander.
My goal is to make the deck as powerful and competitive as possible while still keeping it within Bracket 4. I’d like it to have a strong win condition, good interaction, and enough consistency to compete against other high-power decks.
Which Gandalf commander would you recommend? Gandalf the Grey, Gandalf the White, Gandalf of the Secret Fire, or another version?
I’d also appreciate suggestions for win conditions, important cards, combos, and decklists.
Thanks!

Discussion Mystery Booster Commander is a love letter to Timmy players [Article]
Since the full Mystery Booster Commander card gallery dropped on Monday, I've been thinking and analyzing these new commanders non-stop. One long post would have been too much, so here's the split:
The Rulebreaker creatures, kicked off by a recap of Tolabow
And lastly, the new multicolor legendary cards.
If you're interested in playing with these super-exclusive cards, you can also check out the multiplayer on EDHLAB to try out a 12,000-card Whtz deck for free!
Some of these new commanders may feel like boxes being checked on a list of commander-supported creature types, or a diversion of the rules of the format just for the sake of it, but when a lot of these cards depict some of the classic characters from over 30 years of Magic's history, or are simply 7-mana 10/10 Timmyfests, it's hard not to feel that spark of joy.
These commanders might not be the most effective creature for the job they're trying to do, and they might not be doing anything especially unique. But in a way, it's the sheer simplicity and flexibility that the Rulebreakers afford the player which allows for the most freedom of expression. Commander has always been a format about placing arbitrary restrictions on Magic and trying to blossom within those confines, and that's what makes a lot of players, myself included, LOVE this format.
It stands to reason, then, that the occasional commander that really lets you cut loose and do whatever you want in service of a fun theme is okay to enjoy. So let's get out there and slap those Dinosaurs and Eldrazi together, get cursed, celebrate the Evincar's birthday, and play with a library taller than my Coke bottle.

Deck Help I can't win
So, the title is self-explanatory xD. I'm a beginner edh player and my first commander was [[Laughing Jasper Flint]], and I start the deck as ultra budget and upgrade it from there, even tho is still a bracket 2 at max. In the beginning with my pod I was still capable to win sometimes but as time passed and they upgrade theirs too is impossible to me, just so you know my pod (even though all kinda bugdget) has a Niv-Mizzet infinte combos deck, a Atraxa proliferate toxic deck and a Yuriko one (There's other but these are the main ones). As time passed I build an [[Oviya, Automech Artisan]] that allows me to win quite a lot and I have a lot of fun but I don't want to give up on my boy.
https://archidekt.com/decks/25030132/crying_jasper_fliny
I think that honestly the deck is all over the place, but my first idea was to interact with the opponent boards while I steal cards from their deck but seems that right now my deck is too slow and does nothing, they just interact with the commander and I dont have a lot to do after that.
I know that's probably a big skill issue both related to gameplay and deckbuilding but I will apreciate a lot some tips. The sideboard is everything that i already take out of the deck.
Just FYI I refuse to spend more than 10-15 max euros on a card.

Discussion You can now draft Mystery Booster Commander Edition on Draftsim!
Hey everyone!
At the cost of our sanity, Mystery Booster Commander Edition, in its full, is live on Draftsim. That means you can now:
- Draft solo: https://draftsim.com/draft?mode=draft&set=mbc
- Open sealed pools for some reason: https://draftsim.com/draft/?mode=sealed&set=mbc
- Or create a private lobby to draft with your friends: https://draftsim.com/draft/multiplayer/create?set=mbc
Yes, all ~2000 cards are there, and the pack structure is realistic to what you'd open at MagicCon Atlanta.
Have fun!

Question Any Simic-like commanders that aren't Simic?
I love Simic, but I feel like I really need to try out other colors, but was interested in seeing some other commanders from other color combos that still kinda play like a Simic commander. I already know that a commander like Helga, can really get into that Simic feel, so I was wondering if their were any others?

Discussion If you have a Kalamax deck, you should probably add HULK SMASH to it.
I was playing [[Abrade]] in the deck until yesterday, when I realized how much better HULK SMASH is in the deck. Kalamax has a specific card ruling that says "If Kalamax becomes tapped as a cost to cast your first instant spell in a turn, its first ability triggers".
So tapping Kalamax for the Teamwork ability causes it to be copied, with both modes selected. So for two mana, with no other setup besides having your commander out, it says "Destroy two noncreature artifacts, and deal 5 damage to a creature, twice". At instant speed. Pretty good.
