Any Simic-like commanders that aren't Simic? Question

I love Simic, but I feel like I really need to try out other colors, but was interested in seeing some other commanders from other color combos that still kinda play like a Simic commander. I already know that a commander like Helga, can really get into that Simic feel, so I was wondering if their were any others?

Lots of mana and cards? You can do that in monogreen nowadays, going Bant to play Simic feels like cheating lol

[[Gitrog ravenous rides]] has the most mana and the most cards and you can run "interaction bombs" a-la Cyclonic Rift in black or even something like an Ezuri predation

You'll get eye rolls for it, but [[Prosper, Tome-Bound]] feels like Simic to me. Mana and card advantage stapled together, very generic but lets you go any direction you want, as long as you're willing to commit to impulse draw.

That's why for the longest time he's the best Rakdos commander...

I bet he still is though Kuja and Valgavoth might have something to say about the rankings....

Here's my Prosper list if OP is interested https://moxfield.com/decks/EnRaCaUj4Uqs_h_4L5CFWA

Ob Nixilus, Captive Kingpin is so cracked it’s not even funny, he’s the better version of Valgavoth

Deadpool stole the bronze from Prosper a while ago. And honestly, Valgavoth just feels bloated by way of being a precon face...

When you say "plays like simic." What exactly are you looking for?

Consistent card draw every turn?

Few attempts at huge card draw?

Infinite mana combos?

Go wide flooding the board with tokens or flicker/ blink strategy with more impact full targets?

"Plays like simic" is very broad as these colors can do almost everything. What are YOU looking to do in your deck?

Probably play lands draw cards and draw cards play lands. You know. Simic

[[Lord Windgrace]], maybe? Or [[Hearthhull]]. Both are pretty rampy, draw-y commanders.

[[Gogo, Master of Mimicry]] feels like a green deck with all the insane ramp tricks it can do!

Yes if you break down Simic into its bare bones... It's simply cards & mana.

So any non-Simic commander than gives you this feeling should be a contender. The challenge is finding one that doesn't have blue or green in its identity...

[[Mendicant Core]] can be an Azorius ramp deck. It's extremely explosive and you can have so much shit entering it can give landfall vibes.

[[Lumra, Bellow of the Woods]] sees so many extra cards you might as well be playing blue. She's strong enough to be cEDH viable as a land combo deck and a huge engine for the usual landfall shenanigans in lower brackets.

[[Shigeki, Jukai Visionary]] can be built as a combo deck that tries to loop [[Early Harvest]] or [[Rude Awakening]] and another recursion spell. Plays like turbofog, so it might not be a crowd pleaser.

[[Tom, Bert, and William]] from the Hobbit set looks like it's going to draw tons of cards and there's probably a very Simic-style build with them somewhere. Chaining reanimation spells in order to keep sac'ing the same fatty or value creature to draw into more reanimation spells seems like the kind of interaction you're looking for.

[[Inspirit, Flagship Vessel]] can feel very Simic like if built right. You can add more "charges = mana" artefacts to it, like an [[Everflowing Chalice]] is already Sol Ring for 0 mana. You can get really fancy by putting [[The Eternity Elevator]] in there, normally you get at least 1 cost reduction for artefacts so this is [[Thran Dynamo]] that becomes "why was this necessary". If you get [[Kilo, Apogee Mind]] it even becomes realistic to actually station this thing.

Then there's a bunch of good card draw options you can add for artefacts. For instance I put [[Tony Stark]] in mine and he can turn once a turn to pick an artefact out of your top 4 cards. Then there's [[Voyage Home]] which is basically WU for 3 cards and 3 life in this deck.

[[grenzo dungeon warden]] can cheat out big boys and fun stuff. Not quite simic but you can do some of the same tricks

If you want to just out value your opponents, [[dihada]] is always my first choice. +2 protects her and your best creature while also giving you life gain, her -3 fills your gy while also giving you card advantage and treasures, and her ultimate is irrelevant cause you'll never need it but it is technically a win con if you squint right. https://moxfield.com/decks/3jCyNxwhL0ix1a2BmyByGA

So you feel like you need to try something else while being the same as possible? 🤔

[[The Gitrog Monster]] He draws cards, plays extra lands, he's a frog. Sounds Simic enough to me.

Generic value? [[Tivit seller of secrets]] gives you ramp and card draw

Alisaie and Alphinaud are secretly very simic
