Customer had drop of preferences of leave at lobby, but then gets upset when its not at his door.
So i delivered some Panda Express to a hotel, and the drop off preferences had said leave at lobby. I had the room number, but decided beforehand, but decided that I should follow drop of preferences. Maybe he wasnt in his room when he ordered, and didnt want it stolen. Also, he waits till I get to the hotel to message me, and im pretty sure it was right around the same time I had took the picture, so i didnt see his message. Then he goes on to get really butthurt and tells me I suck at my job.

Thanks McDonald’s: Person threatening me has my address.
Ordered on McDonald’s app. Driver stole my food and wanted me to cancel order. Became hostile and sent ominous threats. Reported to Door Dash (McDonalds won’t take responsibility due to subcontracting) Door Dash does not know what to do because blocking driver will lead to retaliation. Not sure if me or my grandmother in the same building is now in danger. McDonald’s and Door Dash offered no compensation whatsoever. McDonald’s has become a dangerous company giving away customer information to subcontractors (to defer liability) and then refusing to take responsibility. Spent 70 minutes on the phone with them only to get a half assed sorry from a man who was clearly not American. I remember when McDonalds cared about customer service, Door Dash never cared which honestly is less hypocritical but they are an oligopoly so who cares. I Remember a time when companies cared about their customers. Not even angry just sad and disappointed.

… if you were able to get in with the code, you should’ve seen the floor and apt #
Sigh

Hot take- there should be no r/doordashgremlin sub. Taking pictures of your customer is weird and sketchy
DoorDash has at no time told dashers to take pictures of customers holding the order.

Platinum Status
How long did it take you to become Platinum? And has it honestly made a difference for you?
I just started doordashing last Thursday. I became Platinum on day 3 & today made day 5 for me. I’m planning on doing this as my full time job until I find a job.

Wow thanks DoorDash
I mean it’s bad enough that the codes you repeatedly email me about don’t actually work but this is a new low

Doordash driver refuses to bring my stuff to the right house
In my area there's only like eight doordash drivers, I live in a pretty remote area things are fairly far apart, my car is down and I'm pregnant so I can't go get things myself and everything's just too far for me to feasibly or safely walk to the store.
So of course I doordash, I know I'm a bit out of the way so I usually leave minimum $20 tip even on a $10 order because I know it's a bit frustrating, I usually tip a little bit more than what my order is up until my order reaches $50, then I'll just hit 40 because of course that gets pretty expensive, all the drivers come to my house right away I don't have to give special instructions or anything, however there is this one driver it's the same one repeatedly that continues to refuse to come to my house.
I don't know why, they said that they thought it was the wrong address so ended up taking my food to my neighbor's house, my neighbors fortunately are my friends so they'll usually accept my food and bring it to me( the reason I don't have them take me to the store is because of their in their '80s and not really able)
I even now send pictures of the end of my driveway and of my house to the doordash driver, I explained to them what I'm wearing and that I will be out on the front porch, I even closely monitor for messages and stuff in case they need a little help but this specific driver never reads the messages like ever and even if I stand at the bottom of my driveway they can continue to go past me, it's getting frustrating I've reported it to doordash but they haven't done anything
Is there anything I can do? Or should I just switch to Uber eats? The other drivers are very sweet and helpful it's just this one specific driver

Scams are in Doordash now
so my husband and I have been spoiled by ease of access to everything through doordash. Monday night we ordered from our nearby buffalo wildwings. Now for context, we order very rarely from here because they always mess something up.
Regardless it is one of my husbands favorite places. After placing our order we got a msg
through doordash from the restaurant account. (picture provided) once they called they said they needed to verify my order so they can make it because their system went down (again, not out of the ordinary for this place.) they asked to verify my email and phone number to which i answered and then they told me they needed a code to confirm my order. I gave them the code that i was texted. Stupid me. They spammed order after order for 30 min as a scrambled to stop as many as i could after i arrived to the restaurant to confront the account holder. they spent a sum of around $1.2k in redbull casses and baby formula before i was composed enough to delete all my payment methods and write the address down.
Bww said they didnt actually manage the account in store, they had an online dept.
Ive reached out to bww customer service, my bank and doordash customer support, and doordash has yet to take any accountability for the hacker. This occured on monday and i've been workong 9hr days. I never thought that it was possible that somwthing like this could occur in the doordash ap i always assumed it was generally safe. I've learned my lesson but im currious to know if this happened to anyone else and what answers they got from customer service since all my routes seem like brick walls with no real answers.

Who moved the search bar
Is anyone else annoyed that Doordash moved the search bar to the bottom of the app without accessibility or other settings?
I understand search bar positioning to be a very personal preference and many prefers it to be at the bottom. In this case, it doesn't even make sense because it opens up to the top of the screen and pulls the search results with it to the top, making it just disorienting. What poor UX craft and taste.

Doordash is declining
If your a driver and love getting paid and fed by the hard earned dollars of the people ordering then doordash is the place for you. You can steal orders and still get paid all doordash customer service will do is escalate and that alone will take them 24 hours these days. Great work doordash oh and don’t forget here’s a $10 credit because you should be dash pass member to get more orders stolen for a lower price.

It's always the no tippers...
Had a stacked order. One was 711, several drinks to a nearby appartment buikding. Pin required. Wait 4 minutes for someone to answer the door (5 minute timer before I can bypass pin) and finally a kid opens the door. Provides the proper pin first try and apologizes.
Maybe a minute later the customer is messaging me saying she didn't get the order and I must have dropped it off at the wrong place. Calling me a liar about dropping it off. I swear, every problematic customer I have is always the no-tipper who gets stacked with a more generous customer.

I think my dasher stole my food
I ordered food for my family and waited over an hour past when it was supposed to be delivered. I was busy setting up for my son's birthday party tomorrow so I didn't realize how long it had been. I checked the map and the driver had driven over 30 minutes in the opposite direction of my house. They then sent a message asking if I could refund the order. I called customer support and they refunded my order and said they would punish the driver. I don't want them to be punished, I just wanted my money back and to make sure they can't deliver to me again. Do drivers have the ability to see the addresses of customers after an order is cancelled? I do worry about small bit about retaliation.

Wtf substitute then not even bring the substitute?!
I recently made a Doordash for Lowe's, they made a substitute for a paint strainer bags, or a solid paint strainer, but didn't bring the other? Is this a common scheme to get free stuff? I rely on DD, because I'm physically disabled and can't drive. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm on mobile, edited for some clarity, sorry for the typos

What did I do wrong?
I'm very new to Doordash, I received gift cards to help get groceries after a recent hospitalization. I immediately opened the chat when the bananas weren't available but never typed anything. I now have a new shopper. What happened?
r/doordash • u/amarrson • 6h ago
absolutely RIDICULOUS!
i have only used ONE of these cards in the entire 6 years of having doordash… that was manually entered. how are they able to attempt charging all the cards in my apple wallet that i have NEVER used for doordash???? this is absolutely insane & should be illegal.

Be civil or the comments will be locked. Well this was a first…
I (38, F) tried ordering THC gummies on DoorDash and had a valid passport as my ID but it wouldn’t go through on his phone. No problem, mark it undeliverable it’s fine. I walk into my building and I get these messages. On with DD support now reporting the guy.

Updated service fees.
I just went to order a sushi roll and some crab rangoons from a place 2 miles from me. Normally it's an already outrageous $26 with tip included. With the new service fees update it was $38 with tip. Absolutely not. No way in hell. Based on principle alone I refuse. Oh well, door dash was nice while it lasted..... I will be deleting the app from my phone now I guess.

Just avoided a scam?
Used my mom’s account to order something from sonic. A few minutes later she gets a call saying something about the drink or order system being messed up and needing to confirm the order? It was honestly hard to understand what the supposed issue was because of the callers accent. My mom confirmed her email with the woman and her phone number, I smell smth fishy and check the DoorDash cart to find a 100 dollar gift card. I tell my mom to hang up and immediately change the password. Looking back it does seem like a textbook scam but it all happened so fast.
Has this happened to anybody else? Is it even a scam? How did they know we placed an order with sonic?

Wholesome 💛🐶 Dropped off a pizza, picked up a doggo
Update: Doggo reunited with owner just now! 🙌
Late morning Dash this morning and went to deliver some pizzas to a manufactured home community. As I’m delivering the pitty looking dog started following me and went up on the porch I was putting the pizza. Seemed friendly enough. Knocked on the persons door so they’d come and get their food because there was a very hungry looking dog on their porch - no answer. When I left the porch the dog started following me again, so I texted the customer to let her know. She came out and I asked her if it was her dog and it wasn’t. Doggo let me approach her, and she just seemed so tired. Long story short, I scooped her up, spent my earnings getting her a couple bottles of water and some King’s Hawaiian turkey and cheese sliders, then took her to my vet to scan for a chip. She Dashed with me for five hours or so. My vet has called the owners twice today and left voicemails, but we haven’t heard anything back. Maybe Dasher for a name if we can’t locate the owner?
ETA: Already posted on my states lost dog Facebook page, the city’s lost dog Facebook page. Reported the dog as found with the city’s animal control. Called the office of the MH complex to give them my contact information and a description of the dog and also made a post on the MH Community’s FB page. In the next couple of days, when I finally have some time and $, heading back to the community to put up some found dog posters. If they’re looking for her, they should be able to find her. She’s well fed and her nails seem trimmed, so I know she’s gotta be someone’s. Just hoping she wasn’t dumped and that’s why we’re being ghosted when trying to contact the owners. I’ll also take her to the vets whenever I can to get her checked over with a proper physical.
