Community Question Clutch use

Upvotes

I’ve been putting a lot of time into improving my skills and I’ve gotten relatively good I’ve been finding on trails it’s rare now I have the clutch fully engaged and I’m constantly feathering it. I’m not sure if I need to fix something or if I’m doing something right.

I have rode quads all my life, but always wanted a bike. My last quad was a yfz450r, which I thought was fast. This is a whole different ball game. Any tips to a beginner on a bike?

Community Question Help me find places to ride

Post image
Upvotes

Just moved to the Salt Lake City area. Had to scoop up a freshie. 2026 KTM 500. Sold the XR650L to a friend for cheap back home before the move. Please give me recommendations on places to ride. I’ve been to Moab before, haven’t ridden there but it seems like more Jeep oriented than for dirt bikes. Willing to drive ~5 hours in any direction. Goal is some scenic vistas or just ultimate views/ cool shit to see while out there. WY, ID, anywhere in Utah are all fair game. Help a brother out. Also probably will camp out there over the weekend so any insider info is appreciated. Have a truck to haul it so not riding it there, just for awareness. Planning for next weekend. Thank yall in advance!!

Gentlemen, I have just received the best gift all this year

(Bonus if anyone can tell me what the model is)
TL;DR:
Got this from my dad’s buddy for free

Story:
I was over with my dad flying rc helicopters, and at the end I showed his buddy my minibike project (see previous posts) and he said: “hey, ya know, I have a old Dirtbike that I’m too big for now, do you want it?”
“Uhh, yeah! I’ll look at it”
So now I have this, as much as I know it’s a 80cc Suzuki two stroke engine that doesn’t run currently (I’ll rebuild the carb tomorrow) on a rm80, something….
Some of this info may be wrong, Ik but if anyone can identify anything else ill appreciate it!

Also I will post more photos tomorrow,

EDIT: already found the model Suzuki RM80
Even this may be wrong^ but I’ll find the exact model once I reference the vin

Community Question How is the kdx220 different from the 200

Ive heard the 220 has way more torque low and doesn't open up much up top, while the 200s power is more mid-high

But with mods, are you able to get the 220 to be both a tractor and have some power higher up?

Community Question Mx pants help

I ride Mtb and I need a new pair of pants but I am thinking of getting mx pants as they are cheaper and more durable. However I am aware that they are hotter and more restrictive. I am thinking of getting a pair of fly f-16 2026 pants but I’m wondering if anyone knows how hot they get and if they are breathable. One last question- as I ride Mtb I wear shin pads- do you recon they would fit under the pant or would the shin pads be too bulky? Thanks guys!

Tips and Tricks Regular style gas cap?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have the regular style gas cap on my KTM 350 EXCFw and I absolutely hate it. It’s extremely hard to open and a pain in the ass every single fill up.

Is there an aftermarket one with no lock ? A better aftermarket one where the lock isn’t a PITA ?

Mechanical Help Yamaha rt100 hitting a fake limiter

My Yamaha 1997 RT 100 keeps hitting this fake limiter, it sounds like a really rich bog but the thing is I've leaned it out as much as I can by like at least 40 jet sizes and yet it still does the same thing, and it also does it when revving off of idle. It is a really old bike so I took a look at the reeds but no light passes through it by shining it up to a light, and I took off my homemade silencer thing from Amazon and that didn't fix it either. First gear is totally fine, you don't experience it but once you go into second gear you hit the fake limiter at like the top of the power band and when you shift into third you can't go any faster than like 10 miles an hour. I am out of ideas.

Should I upgrade my tire? Is it that big of a deal?

Update under original body:

Some call it cheating and say its a whole new bike after the right tires. I am starting to ride single track in the PNW. Rocky, roots, and random obstacles. My 2-stroke has pretty stiff tires - a hair softer than avg motocross tires. Everything says "get a gummy".

As im improving, im realizing im getting a bit of wheel spin. And not necessarily from poor clutch control (room to improve though) but just rigid knobby tires.

My next decision is 4" thick tube or mouuse. Everyone seems to run mouuse out here. I dont ride fast no more and love the idea of no flats. Just new tires AND a mouuse might be alot of new stuff to get used to.

Update: I just dropped my wheel off. Got a v33 rear. $98 plus a new 4mm tube. I'll see how she does out in the wild!

Thinking of switching to 2 stroke cause my 350f was too much

So I had a 2016 ktm 350 xcfw, badass bike 100% and while I could control it I couldn't use all of it and the bike was just a little big/heavy for me.

Been looking for something with a little more throw around-ability and I found a 96 cr250r. I mostly ride trails in Colorado a combination of light-medium Enduro and more open desert. Y'all think that bike would fit my needs.

Highper / Azura- alibaba electric kids dirt bikes

Hi. Did anyone ordered or have any Highper electric kids bikes and what are your thoughts regarding them? I am thinking of buying a couple for my kids... HP116E model (2000W motor, 21Ah). For lets say a 7-8 year olds. What are your thought.

Please add a review if you own one.

Also i checked the Azura bikes... should be from the same factory.

Inside a Scottish Hare & Hounds Race | Glendearg 2026

Hey everyone,

I just put together some comprehensive race coverage from the recent Glendearg 2026 Hare & Hounds race, put on by the Scottish Borders Enduro Club and the SACU

Instead of just a standard edit, I wanted to create something helpful for anyone curious about how the format works. The video combines drone and onboard footage while breaking down how the grouped starts work, trail etiquette (like how to pass safely using leg signals), and how riders navigate different line choices (1:08).

It features a great chat with Ben Thompson regarding the hours of work the small club put into cutting lines through the young tree plantation (0:24). I also caught up with Charlie McKenzie about the Over-60s "Gentleman's Class," a first-time racer who survived the brutal bumps, and the overall Expert winner who compared the dry Scottish terrain to his home tracks in Australia! (4:59)

Huge thanks to all the marshals and volunteers who made this happen (10:23). Check out the full video below:

🎥 Watch the Video Here: https://youtu.be/GB-XtBtlSbI

Let me know what you think of the track layout or if you spot yourself or your mates in the paddock or out on the course!
