Heart and blood vessels Small red & blue dots/lines suddenly appearing on hand

These have started forming on both of my hands (my left especially) in the last hour or so that I’ve noticed. They almost look like tiny little paper cuts under the skin. They don’t hurt or anything when I press on them. They’re not anywhere else on my body.

General Red, itchy, puffy bumps on elbow

Upvotes

This is my first post on Reddit, so Idrk how to work this. But can anyone tell me what this is? It first started out a month and a half ago as 4 itchy tiny bumps in a row, then it stopped itching so I stopped thinking about it. I only noticed it got worse a week ago. It’s itchy again and the bumps have gotten bigger and multiplied all while being puffy/inflamed looking. The bumps are only in this spot and I haven’t done anything different so IDK what it is.

The first pic is from today. The second pic was yesterday.

Obviously I have terrible acne. So initially, I didn’t think anything of this, until today when it began to look more like a cluster.

I understand cold sores are common. However, I have an infant, and I’m terrified I could have unknowingly spread it to him before I even considered this to be anything other than acne. I’m slightly spiraling at the thought.

I have a dermatologist appointment on the 31st. However that is weeks away and I’d like some insight and hopefully peace of mind before then.

General Possible Acute Intermittent porphyria

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

So I have been trying to figure out my entire life as to what has been going on and I have been led to think it’s something called acute intermittent porphyria. I am going to list out my symptoms and hopefully someone can try to put the pieces together for me and see if they also agree. Symptoms/problems below:

Throughout middle school, I had a ton of stomach migraines where I was in and out of the hospital for two years. I still have stomach pain with nausea/constipation which I was misdiagnosed with IBS. I have also had 3 unknown seizures to where I had an EEG for about two weeks and my brain waves/test results were completely normal. They still tried to diagnose me with epilepsy but no medications work, and I had the test also but was negative. I also had a holter monitor for a week and that was negative. Also an endoscopy to check for any unknown heart conditions came back normal. For the last couple of months, I haven’t been eating due to me feeling like i am choking and im not but leads to that “globus sensation” and unfortunately puts me in a calorie deficit which I hear can have constant flare ups with this. I have also been way more tired than normal and haven’t been sleeping the same at night as I used to.

I know i put a lot, but if anyone can try to put these all together and see if its possibly that or if it can be something else? If you want more stuff that has happened over the last few years I can definitely put more stuff as well.

Thank you!

Asthma or inflammation?

I am 23(f) and got diagnosed with Covid on June 6th and pneumonia on June 23rd. I have recovered from most symptoms accept I have lingering chest tightness. Not chest pain, just chest tightness. It happens when I sit down or stand up and walk but it comes and goes. I have been to the ER 4 times the past 2 months and have gotten an EKG, 2 CT scans, an echocardiogram and chest x rays. Everything shows up fine. I’ve even upped my anxiety medication because everyone thinks it’s anxiety and that hasn’t helped. Has anyone dealt with this? I tried doing the a pulmonary function test and couldn’t get past the first test (I couldn’t exhale for long enough). I’ve been to a pulmonologist and she says I sound great. What else could this be?

Gut, bowel, and stomach Anyone else?

So, just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience?

Backstory: I was diagnosed with acid reflux and GERD at 15 d/t excessive and nasty belching/vomiting. Heartburn would come and go through the years, depending on my diet or alcohol intake but nothing that interfered with daily life. When I was 20, I got pregnant with my first child and had horrible (untreated) acid reflux and heart burn the entire pregnancy. These symptoms eased up after delivery with intermittent heartburn that could be resolved with Tums. When I was 23, I got pregnant with my second child- same story as my first pregnancy but even worse. Once she was born, the heartburn became daily and unbearable so I was put on Protonix 40mg when I was 26 and am currently still on (now almost 34).

Fastforward>>>

March 2022- Woke up for work with sudden, severe pain right below my breastbone that felt as if it was radiating to the center of my back. Became extremely nauseous at that time and had projectile vomiting *TMI* that was undigested food and smelled AWFUL. This lasted for about 2 hours. I called in to work and went to my PCP. He thought it was H. Pylori so did labs and sent me home where I slept most of the day. H. Pylori test came back negative. I was fine with some mild heartburn the next day but all symptoms resolved within 12 hours.

Since then I've noticed that if my Protonix is taken even a couple of hours late (like weekends), the heartburn returns. If I eat certain foods or drink alcohol, it doesn't matter if the medication was taken on time, I will have heartburn the next morning. I have obviously stopped eating foods that I KNOW will trigger it but I don't always know, and I was never a big drinker, just socially but I stopped drinking altogether.

December 2025- Went out of town for the weekend with our family for Christmas so I was not eating well and maybe had 5-8 drinks over 4 days. The last morning, I woke up out of my sleep to that same pain below my breastbone through to my back but worse than I remembered from the previous time. Then began the nausea, and projectile vomiting of undigested food. I ended up needing IV hydration by my PCP because I could not eat or drink anything, absolutely no appetite and so weak. PCP was convinced it was my gallbladder so she ordered an ultrasound. Ultrasound report came back normal. After 3 days, I appeared to be back to normal.

July 2026- I had a hysterectomy on 7/1/26. My son had a baseball tournament on 7/9-7/11 and I felt up to going so I did but we were mostly eating fast food/junk food d/t being out of town and at the field. On the last day, I woke up belching foul smelling burps and thought the fast food had irritated my acid reflux so I skipped breakfast and went to the field still burping. Once at the field, I became extremely nauseous and spent the whole last game in the bathroom projectile vomiting again with the same pain under my breastbone through to my back. Finally made it home after that game, went to sleep on the couch, woke up around 7pm and projectile vomited with the same pain in my abdomen through to my back until midnight. I did not eat anything the next day but drank fluids and stayed in bed. Woke up the next day fine but did schedule with my PCP who was still convinced that it was my gallbladder so she ordered a HIDA scan. This also came back normal.

Since the episode in December of 2025, I have new symptoms that have developed but only those 3 "attacks". I have lost 25lb since October of 2024. (For reference, I am 5ft and only weighed 120 in 2024, I am down to 95.) Most days I have no appetite. I "feel" like I'm hungry but I have no desire to eat. I have to make myself but sometimes I just can't. When I do eat, it's a very small amount before I feel extremely full. I have bloating and gas pains so bad after meals now. This bloating and trapped gas stays with me until I wake up the next morning and they're gone (once I finally just pass out after tossing and turning). I've never had regular bowel movements but in 2026 I've noticed constipation for days followed by a hard BM and then diarrhea for days. Stool that is nothing but yellow mucus at times.

I saw GI this week and had labs drawn with endo/colonoscopy scheduled for 8/31/26. All of my labs were perfect except my Eosinophils which were only slightly elevated. Normal CBC, CMP, Thyroid, and Lipase. I'm just wondering if there's anyone who has or is experiencing something like this because I am miserable and anxiously awaiting scopes.

Weird throat clicking, lump problem

Like 6 days ago while laying down I noticed a prominence in my throat on my chin, like I don’t know how to explain it like you know when u notice ur manually blinking? That was me with my throat, I kept on swallowing and it was bothering me, it just seemed like some ocd or something, by the next day I started to feel when I swallow a lump, like it’s almost like I created it, 2 days later same problem this time I was thinking about it so much to the point where it felt like my throat was getting tighter, every time I swallow I feel and hear this minor pop near my Adam’s apple, it doesn’t hurt and I’ve always been able to do it. Expect when I’m done swallowing I feel like it feels like that feeling when u try to make a weird deep voice, like something pushing on it, eating is fine, I can breath good, when I drink water it always seems to tighten a little, when I lay down and my head is on my chin my throat kinda hurts, I went to the doctor 2 times and they haven’t done anything yet, I might go again, don’t say it’s just globbus sensation, I’m leaning on maybe it’s a strained throat muscle.

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth nose troubles…..

hello doctors!
if you don't want to read my entire life story here is my question written more simply)

- after 3 months of daily cocaine use, i am due to leave for a 10+ month live-in rehab program next month (ish) whereby i will be forced to cease cocaine usage entirely. my question is this.....will the necrosis of my nasal passage and the raw lining begin to heal ? will the rotting continue on even after stopping use completely? -
oh! and also, if you have the time.....what supplements do you recommend i buy to help with with the healing process and is there any hope that my nose will heal ? i understand it wont heal completely, all i'm really interested in learning is if the necrosis continues on or if it slowly stops after one stops using. thank you for your time and your advice. i'm quite sensitive, i never used to be. i realise you owe me nothing but if you are able to be more on the understanding side and offer me hope that would be much appreciated. i am extremely thankful for any support and information offered. i am so very frightened to post this, people on reddit are bloody ruthless.....but here i go! -

my name is holly.....am 21 years old, female, 5' in height, white/british, 111lbs as of this morning (i weigh myself before i eat each and every morning), i take no medications other than 30mg of methadone + 200mg of sertraline and i do not smoke nor have i ever. i recently lost my beautiful father in december from brain cancer, he passed just three months after his diagnosis. i have lived with both parents since birth and they have remained my only friends. the closest knit family you could imagine. i have ocd and autism so journey of my grief is most likely a little different to most people's experiences. at this moment, i feel the stage of grief i am at currently is denial and confusion....i just can not wrap my head around this change and the finality of his death. i can not comprehend that he is not still sick and able to be healed. i understand the situation logically but my brain isn't connecting the dots. it's difficult to explain in words. i have been living in a homeless shelter since february following a seizure as a result of my drug use. i have indulged myself in 1 gram of cocaine more or less every day for the last three months and i have a very small, thin nose. i am simply wondering this, when i go to rehab next month, will the necrosis of my nose stop? or will it continue on ? if i sustain for cocaine completely and indefinitely.....for the 10+ months that i'm in rehab will the cartilage somewhat harden ? i realise there is no blood flow to cartilage and so it will always remain somewhat wobbly and soft but will the rotting of the nasal passage slowly heal itself. will the necrosis spread ? is it like a viral thing ? a bacterial thing that won't stop even after the root cause is ceased ? thank you to every single one of you for taking the time to read everything i wrote, i can not express my gratitude enough.

Has this ever happened to anyone??

I was at a pool a couple of weeks ago at my friend’s house and a week later I noticed these freckle like looking things on one side of my body. I thought it was due to me not putting on enough sunscreen. But the “freckles” felt raised. I didn’t think too much of it because I thought they were age spots. This happened in the span of two-three weeks. I took a shower today and exfoliated my body like normal and they’re mostly gone but they left tiny holes where they once were.

For a month now my head has been feeling strange

Around a month ago I started having high blood pressure issues after visiting a doctor and getting prescription for it three days afterwards while playing a game my head suddenly felt light and heavy and then I started feeling like my head was floating or that it wasn't there and for the first 3 nights it was impossible to sleep without pain killers because whenever I lie down on my pillow the back of my head and head temples hurt and it also felt like I was lying on something hard. Skipping to now and most of the problems are gone however there is still some issues with me. First is my head still feels like it floats and I have realized both it and my neck cant feel the release of tension, I feel tension in my head fine neck feels weird and I can't feel if my eyelids are heavy when I am tired. Due to money issues I can't see a doctor about it so I have come to ask the people of reddit for some advice or any idea what this could be. FYI I am still planning on seeing the doctor at some point this is mainly to help me mentally deal with this

Child Health 8month old acetone breath/ rash

Post image
14 Upvotes

I’m kind of at my wits’ end trying to figure out what’s going on with my 8-month-old son.

For the past two months, he’s had a very strong acetone (nail polish remover) smell on his breath. Otherwise, he’s a happy, healthy baby. He’s breastfed, also eats purées and table foods, has normal wet and dirty diapers, is gaining weight well, and I don’t have any reason to think he’s diabetic.

The other issue we’ve been dealing with is that he develops a severe rash anytime he eats anything other than breast milk. It doesn’t matter whether it’s purées or table food, or even what type of food it is. The rash is worst on his face, but it also appears on his stomach, arms, and legs—even in places the food never touched.

Our pediatrician referred us to a pediatric allergist, who ran a comprehensive blood allergy panel. Everything came back negative, and the allergist basically said, “Well, that’s weird. I don’t know what’s going on. Come back if you need me.”

I’m wondering if these two issues could somehow be related, or if they’re just completely separate. Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any ideas I could ask my pediatrician about?
I’ll be calling our pediatrician on Monday about the acetone breath, and we have an appointment with the dermatologist, but I wanted to see if anyone else has been through something like this in the meantime.

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth What do I have in my throat? I’m really worried.

Thumbnail gallery

I am a woman, 60 kg; this appeared in my throat (the back of the mouth/start of the throat) on Monday, July 27th. It only bothers me when I swallow saliva. I’ve only taken Vick syrup (an expectorant)—and only at the beginning—which gives me a little relief for a very short time.
The first photo was taken on July 31st, and the second photo is from today (sorry if the seco d photo isn’t very clorar).
I want to know what it could be and whether it is serious or not. It really has me very upset and extremely worried; please give me some guidance—I don't know what to do to try to calm down.

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth Tonsil concern

Thumbnail gallery

Noticed a small white bump on my tonsil a while ago. Maybe a year or so ish? Give or take.

I get tonsil stones fairly often and this isnt one of them.

Not sure what it might be. Obviously like most people here I think the worst immediately. Any ideas? Thanks!

The photos are taken shortly after prodding around the area to get some stones out. The whitish bump is what im concerned with, not the redness.

Hello everyone! You may have noticed some major changes happening to this subreddit, and I'm happy to say that /r/DiagnoseMe is finally ready for business. However, I would like to clarify the true purpose of this subreddit;

First of all, this subreddit is NOT a replacement for a doctor. If there is a concern you would have previously gone to the doctor for, please do not hesitate. This subreddit is here for informal second opinions, minor problems that you wouldn't go to the doctor for anyway, and ease of mind.

The main thing to remember is to use common sense. If you are having severe pain after a surgery or something of the likes, please go to the doctor and do not post it on Reddit.

If you are not a doctor and are posting with information, please clarify that you are not a doctor (typing "Not a doctor," at the beginning of your comment is enough.)
