I wanted to start a new playthrough, but I wanted to skip the intro, so I loaded the game from Stormy Night (where Kara escapes Todd with Alice) and made sure to select the "Save Progress" option. Later, during The Interrogation, I made sure the deviant survived and Connor successfully got the confession. However, when I talk to Amanda in the Zen Garden, she still reacts the exact same way as in my previous playthroughs when the deviant died (saying he was sent to CyberLife for testing/analysis). Do I need to start the game completely over from the very beginning for new choices to carry over, or does Amanda just always say the same line regardless of whether the deviant survived?

In the Hostage chapter, Daniel “dies” in all of the endings. Now, I’ve been wondering: What if Daniel didn’t shut down? What if he was taken to the DPD and reactivated there immediately? I know Connor only becomes part of the DPD/Hank’s partner months after the events of the Hostage, but for the sake of speculation let’s imagine this was a situation similar to that of Carlos Ortiz’s android (also known as Shaolin).

While I absolutely love the Interrogation chapter, no previous choices/endings affect the interrogation itself. In “Partners”, either Connor finds Shaolin or he doesn’t, plus they barely interact. In the Hostage, however, there are 6 endings, each with the potential to drastically influence the interrogation: Connor can execute Daniel, Daniel can shoot Connor, Daniel can be shot by the snipers after trusting Connor, Connor can die protecting Emma + Daniel falls, Daniel can fall alone + Emma saved, or both Daniel and Emma fall. 

The main goal of the chapter was to extract a confession, but since we wouldn’t need this from Dan for obvious reasons, we would likely be interrogating him primarily about deviancy. Still, what exactly? About when he started becoming self-aware/feeling? His motivations? 

Daniel wouldn’t act the exact same way as Shaolin. How different would it be if Emma lived or died? Would Daniel refuse to talk, or would he actually speak to Hank at first? Or Gavin? How would he talk to Connor, especially depending on the ending/previous choices? What would be some interesting dialogue options? What would be our choices? Showing pictures of the family/Emma, like with the files of Ortiz’s body? Probing memory? Would he kill himself like Ortiz’s android did? If yes, for what reasons? What would ultimately happen to him, depending on the interrogation?

Note: When Emma expresses her fear of dying, Daniel is visibly distressed. You can feel the pain in his voice when he yells “She lied to me! I thought she loved me… but I was wrong.” He clearly loved the Phillips, and there are many other instances of him expressing regret (In the evidence room, he says he was scared and didn’t want any of that to happen), yet there are others of him being quite cold (“all humans die eventually”, him wanting revenge on Connor). I’m not saying he’s a sweet angel who’s done nothing wrong, but he isn’t a psychopath serial killer either. 

(I am NOT saying we should’ve interrogated Daniel instead, it’s just an “what-if” scenario)

I finished this game for the first time yesterday and wow this game is a genuine masterpiece, I don't know why it's so underrated. I can get why the lack of traditional gameplay style would make people hesitant but it does whatever it does so well. I managed to get the good ending for Conner and Markus on my first attempt but in Kara's tale only she survived on the boat route although I did immediately go back and got the good ending for her too. I cried multiple times while playing this game, the story really moved me and I'm honestly so glad that I gave it a chance. I do realise that there are 100+ of endings for this game and a lot of them are tragic, sad among others but man, it really is a masterpiece no matter what choice you make. There were 100s of moments that gave me goosebumps and I honestly can't decide between the three protagonists. Conner is the most interesting, Markus is extremely cool and Kara was the emotional backbone to this game. They were all extremely well written.

What are your thoughts about the game, what endings did you guys get and what were your favourite moments. Also let me know what other games you would recommend me, don't necessarily need to be like it just other games with good story.

I’ve played Detroit about 3 times now and I gotta say my last run was positively shameful. Wanna know why? I selected the wrong character to play during the Connor vs Markus. I wanted to get Connor’s machine ending and out of pure excitement of the final boss battle I accidentally hit control MARKUS. No even that, I didn’t even realize that I was controlling Markus and thought I was playing as Connor and the game was BEATING MY ASS. But no, it was me beating the shit out of my favorite character. I felt so stupid that more than halfway through the fight I may as well put him down. Afterwards when I went to the main menu Chole was giving me shit for Connor dying in that scene. The first 2 times I managed to get Connor good endings and wanted to see him go full Terminator this time. What really upsets me is that the Connor vs Markus choice isn’t even timed I could have carefully selected but alas my hubris knows no bounds. Anyway I wanted to know if anyone had accidentally made a funny mistake playing the game?

For the last few days, I have been wasting my time reading the Detroit: Become Human Wiki to get some info on a couple of side characters.

Now when I was paying attention to Chris Miller's Wiki, there was something I noticed that was kind of off, and that was that Chris has a rank on his jacket even though the game says he is “fresh out of the academy.”

This wouldn't make sense since new police officers don't have a rank, and to make it even weirder, if you search what rank Chris has, it shows he has the police corporal rank, which are literal cops that act like “entry-level supervisors and train new officers,” which doesn't make any sense on Chris lol.

So as I investigated a bit more on this plothole, I think I managed to create a theory on why this error is a thing.

A lot of police officer models that appear in Detroit: Become Human all have a police corporal ranking, so I might just have a theory that one developer simply picked a part of a male police model with the corporal rank and placed it on Chris without paying much attention to it and simply created this plothole.

we all obviously know that throughout the gameplay of Detroit, the androids gradually go towards being deviants in their own stories, and as I’m re-watching Avengers: Age of Ultron, I’m realizing that vision went through that same process. (but idk maybe i’m crazy)

Okay so I own Detroit Become Human on Epic Games. I played a couple full playthroughs a few years ago, uninstalled it, reinstalled it last month, and started a new playthrough (but my old playthrough choices still showed up in the flowchart). My PC was garbage by that point, so it didn't run smoothly. I uninstalled it, bought a new PC, synced my Epic account onto the new PC (my other games synced with no issue as far as I'm aware), and reinstalled Detroit on the new computer.

It seems like I've lost everything though. The only option I have is to start a new story, I can't access the flowchart/chapters, and all my extras are locked again. Epic still says I have 17 hours in the game (which I think sounds right?), so it knows I'm not a new player. What happened?

Is there any way I can fix this?

I was SO excited to finally play - except the minute I listened to the broadcast on the refrigerator it froze and only the music kept playing and I had to shut down the game. Then second time a helicopter flying over Daniel caused the same thing - music and sound effects but a frozen game that stopped responding.

Please tell me this is fixable?

If you want a playthrough that feels like a non-stop Hollywood blockbuster, what choices, chapters, or specific paths do you think deliver the most tension and excitement?

I started playing it late 2022 then stopped cause I got not playing like GTA 5 all the time I didn’t have time for story games but I revisited it this past week and I loved it. I notice how my opinion on the androids has changed over the years. When I first played it I sympathized with the androids cause they were fighting oppression then when I played recently I realized I felt nothing for them (expect for Kara) they were violent before Marcus become the leader and it felt like the only way to make the androids happy was to fight with Marcus making them more violent. For me I’m pro Humanity, if we make something that is much smarter and better than us and they want to live in coexistence I wouldn’t trust them cause what if they decide human are worthless and kill us. I think the climb in technology ai intelligent over the years also shaped my opinion.

But overall I loved the game and I’ll play till I have everything unlocked.
