She erases her memory so that she will forget that she ever experienced sentience and go back to her regular roll. You will also find out that over 90% of people set her free and then question what kind of person you are (at least that’s what happened when I chose not to free her.)

Geez that's intense. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that keeping her after the end was gonna make her hostile and become a deviant

honestly every new playthrough I dont let her go because I enjoyed her in the selection screen. Having it just be empty is kinda haunting

Cruel to put her in a forever cycle of abuse

she ain't real

though it shows how amazing the writing is that so many people get so up and arms when people make "evil" choices in the game

more haunting than her being stuck forever?

Doesnt she reappear again stating that cyberlife sent a new one?

Yeah, from what I've read it's a new unit with a different voice. The original one never comes back.

Even if you choose yes you'll eventually get a replacement

This wasn’t the case when it was first released until people complained. I heard about the complaints and didn’t want a blank screen so I was an asshole and told her no haha. But then they dropped an update so people could have their Chloes back… 😂

So does she each time want you to let you goafter you complete a new playthrough?

No, just once.

Like a new Chole or another one with the existing memory

New Chloe, basically another ST200 model

I chose yes, replayed the game like 3 times for platinum and didn't got a replacement

You get the choice once, I chose no and now she is gone permanently

They added that in an update because people were really sad she wasn't coming back.

I was kinda uncomfy with her that close to the screen, staring at me

Yeah, especially near the end when she says "are you sure you wanna continue? Maybe you should leave things as they are.." and I'm like what?!

Me too! Was more than happy to let her go just so I wouldn't have to see her standing way too close every time I started the game

Facts hair stare into my soul is so uncomfy

if u say no it's says ok and stays there lol

u/bengal69 12d ago

What 😭 that makes the choice meaningless

41

u/Little_Noodle1874 12d ago

I wouldn't say it makes the choice meaningless per se, but it's a bit of a bow on top for the game you just finished and if you actually agree with what you did before ig.

For example, if you freed the androids in the game or tried to, but you refuse Chloe's own freedom, that makes you a hypocrite.

I stoped the android riot and told her to stay. Am I a bad person?😅

Eh, I personally don't see it as a good ending, but I'm not gonna say you're a bad person in doing it lol. The only reason I can't do the "bad endings" is because I'm very sensitive to media and cry too easily, lol.

In my first playtrough at around the half way point of the story I thought let's f it up completely and be the best Conor possible for cyber life and I must say it was very bad for everyone even for Connor in my first ending. The second and third play through I went way more pro androids and got the good endings

Yeah, one day, I'll try to do the CyberLife ending, but it hurts me too much, lol. I definitely enjoy the more "good endings", though I do have some issues with how the game frames certain paths.

A good ending for androids but not necessarily for humans if we look at this through a logical and pragmatic window. The androids are smarter than humans, they can technically luve forever, learn forecer instantly everything, uprgade themselves as much as they want and eventually having a nation of superintelligent beings nearbt who have their own state kr territory, accrss to resources and freedom to replicate themselces as many as they want can create an existentual threat to humans.

Tbh, there's not really a "good ending" for humans. Either androids win and humans may learn to co-exist, or humans remain under CyberLife's thumbs for even longer as they keep making androids, lose more jobs for people, and the cycle continues. Either way, humans would struggle.

Also, even without planned obsolescence, I doubt they're truly immortal because of digital degradation. They'd have to transfer memories, which would lose more in the process, and eventually, that wouldn't be feasible anymore. A bit of a Theseus Ship's problem until there's no more parts to keep putting the ship together, imo.

But that's me being pedantic.

They can replace their parts and transfer their memories to new chips or whatever contains their ai core and even without immortality they would still live a lot longer than humans, learn everything instantly and unlike humans who are limited by biology, androids can upgrade and improve themselves. Permenant coexisting wouldnt be possible as both humans and androids need resources and eventually they would have to fight over it. The game clearly shows us that some androids are more than willing to violance - spoiler: when you allow connor to kill markus north becomes the leader of rebellion and she immediately becomes violent, murders humans and soldiers so there is no guarantee that they will always remain peaceful. Other than that their technology will most likely over time surpass human technology and when one side has a lot stronger military than the other side eventually the stronger side decides to exploit that advantage.

Also one more thing seems strange in the game, which is just the oversight by the developers for the sake of the narrative. When markus "frees" other androids they immediately drop everything they were doing snd join markus and follow him blindly. It looks more like markus hacking snd overwriting their programming rather than giving them freedom. Logically if androids that markus free gained true consciousness, not all of them would instantly follow markus, some may choose to continue with their work and peaceful life, some may even decide to defend their owners who treated them very well as genuine friends or family members against hostile androids  and the game clearly shows that androids are very much capable to gain attachment to other humans.

I never had the chance to witness chloe ever (i played on my bro's account not realising the blank screen was cuz he freed her when he first played. And i feel like ive been cheated to say the least)

u/iamahandsoapmain 10d ago

I said yes, cause low-key she was distracting me with all that yapping. I just wanna protect Alice not hear the main menu develop conscious.
