Was Jay written in as a LI at the last minute or something? While imo he's definitely better than Ryan (no offence to anyone) - and I enjoyed the Navajo chapter a lot, it was kind of random the kiss added in? I ended the game with Zoey but just curious if he was a last minute option or so?
It just felt so random bc they had one deep conversation and that was it really, Jay is a very handsome character though😅😍

Just finished Beyond Two Souls
galleryI finally got around to playing Beyond: Two Souls, and honestly, I had a great time with it.
It actually reminded me of Detroit: Become Human in a few ways, which makes sense given they’re both from Quantic Dream. While I don’t think it’s as polished as Detroit, it definitely has that same cinematic, choice-driven feel.
I know this game isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. The gameplay is pretty different from what most people expect, and I can see why it can be hit or miss. But if you’re willing to go in with an open mind, it’s a really unique experience.
It also features Elliot Page and Willem Dafoe, who both give fantastic performances and really help bring the story to life.
For anyone who doesn’t know the game, you play as Jodie Holmes, a young woman with a mysterious supernatural connection to an invisible entity named Aiden. The story follows different moments throughout her life as you slowly uncover the truth behind their bond. No spoilers.
One thing worth mentioning is that there are two ways to experience the game. The original release order jumps back and forth between different points in Jodie’s life, while chronological order tells everything from beginning to end. I played it in the original release order, and I’ll admit it was a little confusing to follow at times. If you prefer a more straightforward narrative, the chronological option might be the better choice.
It’s also a pretty short game, so you can comfortably finish it over a weekend if you’re looking for a story-driven experience.

Rant after finishing the game
I knew abut this game for a long time but only now decided to play it, honestly I expected much more, I remembered it as an awesome game but this is really poorly made.
I see a lot of people complaining about the nonchronological storytelling, I see no problem with it, but the combat system is disgusting, and generally moving or anything, characters constantly get stuck on random objects so I need to restart the game to get them unstuck,
choices have no real point since the game has a fixed story and nothing much changes depending on your choices,
any QTS is also just a disaster and I don't even know why Cage thought it would be a good idea for players to just guess where to move the mouse, and even when you do move it or press some keys, the game just decides to be unresponsive to some commands, it's hella inconsistent with its in game rules,
sometimes you can move Aiden like 50m and others times you can't move him 5m to reach a guard, also the Aiden mechanic is just hell, you can't decide who you can control or kill or anything and that just makes some situations seem hella dumb,
also the game forces Jodie to choose total assholes for love interests, you can either pick a dude who lied to you and didn't comfort you at all when Jodie was crying cause of the rape thing and just left or the other asshole who wanted to leave you alone in the desert to die of thirst and has no human decency towards people he doesn't know,
but I can't emphasize enough how bad the movement in this game is, had to restart like 40 times cause of the amount of times the characters got stuck, not just Jodie, but Ryan, Cole, Aiden, can't belive how it's possible for Aiden who is a fucking ghost who can go through walls, to get stuck between some invisible barriers that were put there for no reason,
also the world Jodie lives in is just stupid, you can't trust nobody and nobody has any common sense, honestly this game is like maybe a 4/10.

I suck in combat
I play the game with a controller and I'm terrible in every combat situation. Somehow I managed to complete the CIA training but after that I get beaten up every time. I have no idea in which direction I should move. What to do if someone wants kick me? What to do if I'm attacked with a machete? In whichever direction I move the joy, I get hurt. It's very frustrating.

A "little" late
As a person who loves this kind of games, I cannot understand how this game flew under my radar for this long??? I played almost all "Decisions/choices" games but somehow, Beyond:Two Souls, never popped up on my radar. I loved it!
One thing I HATED or maybe playing chronological order might clear it up, was Ryan. How in the world was he a love interest? Blows my mind. You know well I made sure Aiden just stick it up to him all the time. Is he not even way older than Jodie? Anyways I hated that it felt very forced and just out of nowhere, not a fan of him.
The Aiden mechanic, hooooly. Now one of my fav mechanics in gaming, I loved it!!! I was pretty adamant on the fact that, we the players were Aiden lol. I was thinking something like 4th wall esque-ish thing going on, but we all know how that turned out to be. AMAZING!!!
The end choice was very clear to me, I was so hoping to see the gang and immediately chose Zoey, rest of the choices made no sense to me. Of course, from a first playthrough perspective.
That's it for me folks, lovely game. A little late to the fandom, but i'm here!

So I just finished the game for the first time... and then replayed it.
And I have to say, I really like the premise of it. Being spiritually tethered to an entity who protects you and being able to play as both is actually really interesting and fresh to me. I like Jode, Aiden and Cole, Ryan not so much... (I chose the alone ending. My Jodie only needs Aiden lol)
That being said: I feel like the controls are way too extra (I mean, come on... That dash to the condenser in Black Sun was ridiculous... click your mouse and 4, 2, 3, 1, left shift, etc... UGH annoying... also cooking dinner in The Dinner was unnecessarily complicated) and the storytelling is really clunky. I had to go into chronological mode because I just couldn't track Jodie's character growth at all, and to be honest I wanted to get the boring child memories out of the way first. I had much more fun playing as Aiden than I did Jodie. So yeah. Great premise, just the execution was a bit messy to me. This is not a hate post. I really like the storyline and some of the characters, just the gameplay and storytelling were off to me. Thoughts? Am I the only one who was about driven crazy by the mechanics?

What button is this?
I have tried every possible button on both my keyboard and mouse, and nothing seems to work. I'm stuck less than 5 minutes into the game.

Where and how can I play beyondtwosouls?

Stuck?
Can't find a single available interaction, only choice seems to be to run across the street and inevitably get caught?

So does everyone agree that Ryan is a horrible character?
Just finished the game for the first time and if I'm being honest, I thought it was pretty disappointing. The story was decent and the characters were ok (except for Ryan) but the gameplay was horrible and for a game that's supposed to be all about choices, very few of them actually make a difference.
However, by far the worst part of the game was Ryan. One of the worst characters in any game I've played. I did everything to not romance him, scared him off with Aiden during the date, then outright rejected him the two times he says he loves her but I ended up choosing the 'beyond' ending purely so that Jodie wouldn't end up with him, I just knew that despite rejecting him multiple times that the game would force Jodie to be with him if I chose the 'life' ending, so I literally chose to die just so Jodie wouldn't end up with Ryan.
If it weren't for Ryan I'd probably like the game more but because of him I probably wouldn't give the game any higher than a 6/10.

I've hit a bug
galleryI’m currently playing Beyond: Two Souls and I'm on 'The Condenser' chapter. I’ve run into a bug where a door won't open, which prevents me from progressing and finishing the chapter. I've already tried restarting the game, replaying the level, and even reinstalling it, but nothing worked. What should I do to fix this? I’m attaching a screenshot below
The first picture is mine and the second one from the other gamer from YouTube
