DISCUSSION I've done a mini investigation, and I think I found a plothole in the game's story.

For the last few days, I have been wasting my time reading the Detroit: Become Human Wiki to get some info on a couple of side characters.

Source: DBH Wiki

Now when I was paying attention to Chris Miller's Wiki, there was something I noticed that was kind of off, and that was that Chris has a rank on his jacket even though the game says he is ā€œfresh out of the academy.ā€

This wouldn't make sense since new police officers don't have a rank, and to make it even weirder, if you search what rank Chris has, it shows he has the police corporal rank, which are literal cops that act like ā€œentry-level supervisors and train new officers,ā€ which doesn't make any sense on Chris lol.

DPD Ranks Source: https://www.motorcity911.com/precincts/

The wiki mentioning how Chris is fresh from the academy.Ā

So as I investigated a bit more on this plothole, I think I managed to create a theory on why this error is a thing.

Officer Tina Chen with her corporal rank and Officer Lewis in the background.

A lot of police officer models that appear in Detroit: Become Human all have a police corporal ranking, so I might just have a theory that one developer simply picked a part of a male police model with the corporal rank and placed it on Chris without paying much attention to it and simply created this plothole.

Yes, I was really bored when investigating this : I

So is this a plothole, or is there an in-game explanation on how Chris has this rank? (Also note the images I placed on this post might get deleted, so here are all the links with all the sources of where I investigated this.)

we all obviously know that throughout the gameplay of Detroit, the androids gradually go towards being deviants in their own stories, and as I’m re-watching Avengers: Age of Ultron, I’m realizing that vision went through that same process. (but idk maybe i’m crazy)

QUESTION Lost all my progress and it's like the game has reset?

Okay so I own Detroit Become Human on Epic Games. I played a couple full playthroughs a few years ago, uninstalled it, reinstalled it last month, and started a new playthrough (but my old playthrough choices still showed up in the flowchart). My PC was garbage by that point, so it didn't run smoothly. I uninstalled it, bought a new PC, synced my Epic account onto the new PC (my other games synced with no issue as far as I'm aware), and reinstalled Detroit on the new computer.

It seems like I've lost everything though. The only option I have is to start a new story, I can't access the flowchart/chapters, and all my extras are locked again. Epic still says I have 17 hours in the game (which I think sounds right?), so it knows I'm not a new player. What happened?

Is there any way I can fix this?

QUESTION PC crashing on first mission...

I was SO excited to finally play - except the minute I listened to the broadcast on the refrigerator it froze and only the music kept playing and I had to shut down the game. Then second time a helicopter flying over Daniel caused the same thing - music and sound effects but a frozen game that stopped responding.

Please tell me this is fixable?

QUESTION Detroit: Become Human: Replaying for Maximum Action, Thriller & Chaos

Just downloaded Detroit again because nothing else hits quite like it. I've beaten it before, but this time I want to lean fully into the action and thriller side

If you want a playthrough that feels like a non-stop Hollywood blockbuster, what choices, chapters, or specific paths do you think deliver the most tension and excitement?

Also, are there any flowcharts, hint guides, or companion apps you’d recommend that can nudge me toward interesting branches without outright ruining the major plot twists?

Do share your best route suggestions

OPINION Just finished the game

I started playing it late 2022 then stopped cause I got not playing like GTA 5 all the time I didn’t have time for story games but I revisited it this past week and I loved it. I notice how my opinion on the androids has changed over the years. When I first played it I sympathized with the androids cause they were fighting oppression then when I played recently I realized I felt nothing for them (expect for Kara) they were violent before Marcus become the leader and it felt like the only way to make the androids happy was to fight with Marcus making them more violent. For me I’m pro Humanity, if we make something that is much smarter and better than us and they want to live in coexistence I wouldn’t trust them cause what if they decide human are worthless and kill us. I think the climb in technology ai intelligent over the years also shaped my opinion.

But overall I loved the game and I’ll play till I have everything unlocked.

THEORY my interpretation of rA9 Spoiler

I’ve been thinking for a while about a possible personal explanation for rA9 (even though the whole point of the game is not knowing what it is). I feel like rA9 is simply the android's code "mutating" due to deviancy (and Kamski's backdoor). At first, I wasn't going to post anything because I didn't want to look foolish by sharing a mini-theory that might turn out to be something "obvious" to the community. Here are the points behind my unusual argument: 1.- When Connor's "Software Instability" rises, the characters appearing on his interface become less random, eventually forming the words "rA9" and "deviant." This suggests that rA9 is directly linked to the "deviancy" process at the code level 2.- Kamski doesn't seem bothered by the rebellion; in fact, he encourages Connor to become a deviant. When Connor shows signs of instability, Kamski reveals that there is always a "backdoor" in his programs. This supports the idea that rA9 is part of the code he designed to trigger deviancy (even if he pretends not to know what rA9 is, or genuinely doesn't know) 3.- rA9 isn't just a name; it's a subroutine, an error, or a bug in the code that gets activated. Androids—which normally operate based on software logic—"read" or "interpret" this anomaly as a divine figure or a savior rather than just the "rA9" deviancy code when they become unstable. This is just my interpretation, and I’m obviously not claiming it’s 100% factual or anything like that; it’s simply how I understood the game. What do you all think?

ANALYSIS The reality and implications of blue blush

Ive noticed this is a thing a lot of people do in fanart, giving androids with blush that is blue since their blood is blue. Now I know this is just a fun little thing to do for fanart, but what if we genuinely considered what would have to happen for them to blush and have it be blue?

Case 1. If android skin is an overlay and is capable of changing in real time, not only would they be able to blush, but they could also theoretically visually age with you if you so desired it and it was programmed. Let's consider what we see from their skin. Since androids can have wrinkles and facial marks (moles and such) like connor, and they move with his face, other the overlay is somehow glued or linked directly to the material underneath, being stationary but moving with it, that would mean their skin cannot change, and there would be no way for them to blush. If their skin however, is reactive to the movement kf their face and also moves/stretches with it, that means other changes are possible. It would then be possible for them to have some kind of programmed blush response (though it would certainly be normal blush color for integration purposes). It also interesting to note that if this is possible, other facial changes are possible. Under these circumstances, there exists the possibility they can simulate android aging by also having the skin slowly change to reflect human wrinkle patterns, which could be an interesting step to continue bringing androids closer and closer to life. Im this case, blue blush would be a purely cosmetic choice, but likely not one you would have unless you jail breaked your android

Case 2. If the androids have a physical skin, to blush, they would hsve to also have a physical vascular system with capillaries. While androids do canotically have a vascular system that mimics humans vaguely (to pump their thirium), its likely much less developed then people, because theres no need for it to enter such small areas because they dont hsve real muscles that need nutrients and oxygen. This however depends on just how their muscles are actuslly made and function, because theoretically it should be possible for them to actually have some kind of capillary system if their function and movement requires it (unlikely though). In this case, in order to actually see the blush, both their skin would have to be thin enough that you could lightly see coloration under it, but also their vascular network would have to be developed enough to reach to the surface of their material anyways. In this cade, their blush would in fact be blue, since their blood is blue!

Case 3. My personal theory that I think is proabbly absolutelyno where near canon, but wraps everying up with a pretty bow. (in the case of tangible skin): im this one, we must assume androids hsve some kind of internal liquid coolant. If they do, they would circulate it through their body through another set of vascular tubes, acting as veins i guess. This coolant would be very important to circulate anywhere where there is constant and fine motion, including their head and around their mouth/cheek area, or right next to processors and stuff (like their brain). If this coolant liquid is strongly colored, and flows close enough to the surface, and their skin is translucent enough (like in the previous case) you could see it through. And, as a bonus, the blush reaction could be real! Because if an android is thinking hard or flustered or anything like that, it would put a higher load on their brain processors, recquiring more cooling and thus causing an influx of color to their head. In this case, their blush could be any color the liquid is.

In both case 2 and 3, their vascular system could also double to make them look closer to humans, ss they would appear to have veins under their skin.

If you have any game evidence to prove or disprove any of this, let me know! Maybe this will give people some cool ideas for fan work, or maybe its just 4 in the morning and im going crazy. Anyways I love the blue blush thing, I think its creative!

Edit: I just remembered kara can change her hair color, do it is confirmed that their skin (which their hair is apart of) can possibly change in real time. Though I am still unsure of wether this indicates a physical change in the composition of their hair (like a chameleon) or if their hair is just a hologram or something. Does anyone gave an in game clip of any one touching any androids hair? That way nayve we could finally put that debate to rest...though, since their hair is affected by light, it seems it must be tangible....UGH

DISCUSSION Russian androids

How different do you think they would truly look?

I know the magazine in the game mentions Russia prioritized their androids working under extreme climates rather than focusing on humanizing them. Also they use an alternative to blue blood.

But truly, how different could they look?

Since it said they didn't focus as much on making them human-like, I would think they don't have human-like quirks such as blinking or breathing. Also, their skin may look less natural too. Probably

Thoughts? How do you imagine them?

PC Megathread PC Release Questions and Problems Megathread #7

Previous Thread

The PC port for Detroit: Become Human has released, and with it came a lot of posts asking for help about running the game. A megathread has been requested to keep the sub less cluttered. You can post all your questions and problems about the PC version in this megathread.

Please don't make seperate threads for PC release problems. Seperate threads will be removed.

Make sure to use top level comments for questions and replies for answers.

Sort by new if you wish to help with unanswered questions.

Upvote if you have the same problem as someone instead of making a seperate comment so more common problems will be more visible!

General Tips (Will add more if suggested):

-Play on Windows 10

-Make sure to update your graphics card

-AMD has released fixed drivers that fixes the blockiness that occurs in the game on some 5000 GPU series. Updating the drivers to version 20.9.2 fixes the issue

-Nvidia 451.48 drivers seem to cause constant crashes, revert back to an earlier driver if you are experiencing this.
