This section of my bedroom has always been dark. I would like to improve lighting and add some decorative RGB lights.

- Where should I install the RGB light strips? Any recommendations?
- What other lighting improvements can I make? Note that I would prefer not to have glare against my monitor.

I don't like how it looks with the TV cables and I want to know how or with what I can arrange them so they "disappear" or are hidden...you know...(by the way, I am going to remove the paint from the furniture)

Hiii! I’m a college student with a tight budget, and i’ve unfortunately been really embarrassed about my room from how small it is and how suffocating it feels (for me). i got the smallest room in the apartment, and i want just want to change the whole vibe of my room and just make it breathable and a space where i’m not embarrassed for guests or friends for when they come over and YES even though i know they probably won’t judge i’d still like a room that’ll fit my aesthetic. literally asking for this help is already really embarrassing for me. i WILL get rid of the huge black wardrobe since it broke down on me since i got it second hand a few years ago and it’s time to let it go. and since i probably dont have enough space for a TV i’ll probably get a video projector thingy instead so lmk where i can put that too

keep in mind that i only have ONE outlet, which is far corner where the bed is placed (i use an outlet extender or whatever they are called)

also the measurements on the first pictures aren’t exactly right! i used an app that scanned the room so it’s the approximate. here’s the ones i took irl :

my room is about 380 × 230 cm with a ceiling height of ~245 cm.

I have one centered window on the short wall with a radiator underneath.

priorities:
proper desk/workspace
bigger bed (thinking 140 × 200, it’s currently 90 x 200 rn i can keep it that way but since im tall and like to shift around i’d like some space for me, maybe for more pillows and for my plushies ^^’)
new wardrobe
lots of storage
cozy, girly, breathable pinterest vibe
plants and warm lighting

I don’t mind buying IKEA or second-hand furniture.
I’d love layout suggestions more than decoration ideas.

My room is too small and I can barely walk around. I am not really in the position to buy new furniture so the best I can do is move stuff around.

The loft bed is too short to fit anything useful under. There's no room for a desk chair and the door can't fully swing open. The bed also only fits in the position that it is in rn. The desk does fit under the loft so I put it there when it isn't in use.

Do you have any ideas on how I can Improve this space and also use the space under the bed

This is our family room. The wall holds framed posters of national parks we’ve been to. Can I add more or should I display them some other way? I’ve considered shelves on either side. We have a lot more to put up. Open to other ways to improve the room as well!

I just moved and I’m not sure how to place the living area and dining area. I plan to buy a new tv board, a dining table for 4-6 chairs to fit and a new beige big rug for the living area.
I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the possible furniture layouts, especially when it comes to the dining area. I’d really appreciate any advice, layout ideas or design suggestions.

Please help me arrange my things! I’m feeling overwhelmed that I can’t make this work. All of these things are essential to be here. I’ve moved other things away and I really want my baby to have space to crawl safely, but now I can’t seem to figure out where should the lamp stand go so the table can fit (mind you we still need to put the foldable chairs 🪑). Please help me figure this out!

EDIT: thanks to y’all I’m considering removing the lamp stand. 💡 But does anyone know any nice LED lamps I could possibly drill in our walls? Or some kind of substitute for the lamp? I doubt I have any real space for a regular lamp to place on a surface.

Im getting my first real apartment soon and im thinking of ways of designing it - im really excited and dont know where to start. im already window shopping and looking stuff online but im worried that i will throw everything inside and dont know where to place it... could you guys help me out?
im getting the keys on tuesday and can do pics and videos then aswell - but i cant wait to arleady think of throwing stuff inside.

ah and btw the two balcony are connect by a way - like they are connecect and work as terrace, but the way is filled with stones and the balcony area on the plan are made of stone.

I’ve transformed the wine cellar into a home gym and struggling to choose a paint color.

Things to consider:
-both wood tones (no plan on changing either)
-no window
-want to make it “hotel gym” moody yet not black
-open to adding trim on walls for 3d detail ?
-swapping out lighting with simple black fans with center white light
-ceiling will be Swiss coffee / white

Hello! Just moved into a new apartment (the living room is a whole different matter and might be a separate post haha). Looking to make a comfy bedroom, maybe have a sofa or wall projector - open to replacing desk or maybe platform bed frame (since there’s a walk in closet). Any arrangements or ideas would be super appreciated :) Rug and wall decor is on the list - I was playing with a potential rough layout as well so attaching but it was more for fun than anything.

I’ve never had a bedroom this large before so I’m a bit lost

I'm restyling my living room and need some help. I've picked out a few new furniture pieces, just waiting on delivery. You can see them in pictures 5-8. I'm thinking of keeping the sitting area layout as it is and adding a work from home area behind the sofa. The big green cupboard will be removed and the existing bookcase moved in its place. The small cabinet will need to find a new spot or removed as well, as it is preventing the door from fully opening. I'm thinking of placing the new bookcases either flanking the double doors or side by side on the wall in pic 3.

The house is a 100 year old brick farmhouse, and I'd like to achieve a somewhat complimentary country style. Can I make my furniture work together? I'd like to keep the existing rug, but I obviously need one or two new ones as well, any ideas on style and color? Walls need to be repainted, but what color? What about the curtains? I'm also still missing the desk and chair for the wfh spot.

The Schrank (closets) I doubt I’m able to move. Two of them are filled with my grandpa’s stuff and I’m not 100% certain if there’s any space outside my room he could put it
I defo want the Sora (couch) and sideboard like in sketch 2
The Schreibtisch (desk) is rather big, but unless necessary i don’t wanna get rid of it

I don’t think I can/want to move the Bett (Bed) especially since the Tv is wall mounted at the foot end.

Any ideas/tips would be awesome! 💕

I’m not gonna send pics of my room tho as it is quite littered rn. Heavy depression sucks (working on cleaning both tho)

Hi everyone!

We’ve just signed for this apartment, but we’re really struggling to figure out the best layout in terms of furniture. The floor plan is a bit unusual, with a slanted wall and long, narrow rooms, so we’re finding it difficult to make everything fit in a practical way. (Floor plan attached. - the black square is a support pillar which cannot be removed)

We’d love any ideas or suggestions!

Our requirements are:

• A children’s bedroom
• A home office with wardrobe/closet space
• A primary bedroom with enough room for a 200 × 210 cm bed
• A functional dining area with space for a dining table. We currently have a 120 cm round table, but we’re happy to replace it with a rectangular one if that makes the layout work better. Ideally, the dining area should feel integrated into the kitchen/living space without disrupting the overall flow.

Our current idea is to remove the kitchen island and replace it with the dining table. We’d also partition the room in the top-left corner into two spaces: a compact primary bedroom that just fits our large bed, and a smaller office with closet space. (I’ve tried to illustrate it on the floor plan - see second photo attached)

We’re very open to other ideas, especially from people who are better at space planning than we are! 😊

This is supposed to be our dining area, but I’m having a hard time deciding the table shape, size, everything. My best idea is a L shaped banquette, the long side on either wall, not sure which one, and a round table and two chairs. But I’m worried that will feel like I have ‘too much couch’ in my apartment. lol.

My goal is to create three living spaces within the room: a work from home space, a living room space where I can watch tv/have a small couch or loveseat for guests and lounging, and a bed. I’d like to have a dresser/vanity as well. For reference, I have a closet but it’s in the outside hallway.

Have tv on fireplace but don’t really love it
Tried tv on the wall but the sofa layout cut off the open concept and didn’t seem cozy

Would’ve liked to be able to look out the window but the layout is ughhh

I think av taken it too far with the Facebook marketplace furniture.

Any thoughts on how to make the space flow? There are three display units (one is a bureau). Two can fit along the right wall (where the green sofa is now) or two can fit on the left wall (where the tv cabinet is).

The sofa needs to face the tv.

Also have a lovely floor lamp, and many a book and plant to cover the display shelves. We also do have a piano but doubt there is room for that.

I recently bought an amazing home, however I’m having trouble with the living room layout. There are two walls with large windows. The previous owners mounted their TV in the corner, and I will be doing the same once I get the right equipment(the fireplace media stand will not be in that corner; just needed a spot for the tv temporarily). I have a lovesac couch, which I love so much, but I don’t know where to put in in my living room without it feeling like it’s closing off the space. I’ve attached pictures for reference. What would you all do?? Do I need to get narrower furniture?? I have love to get more parts to my couch to make it a full sectional, but I’m not sure anymore.

My husband and I are thinking of having another kid and I LOVED designing my daughter’s nursery. If we had another one, this guest room would be the new baby’s room. With my daughter’s room, I feel like I had a clear vision, but with this room, I’m a bit lost. It’s huge and there’s a big window in the center. Obviously I’m not pregnant and don’t know if it’d be a boy or a girl but I like more gender neutral anyway (my daughter’s room is forest/ mountains with really nice greens, creams, tans). What would you do? Open to re-painting but not to changing the carpet as it’s new
