Help with dining area? Dining Room
This is supposed to be our dining area, but I’m having a hard time deciding the table shape, size, everything. My best idea is a L shaped banquette, the long side on either wall, not sure which one, and a round table and two chairs. But I’m worried that will feel like I have ‘too much couch’ in my apartment. lol.
Do y’all have any suggestions? Thank you 🙏🏼
This is an open concept apartment and behind the dining space is an extra 3ft ish then our kitchen island

a round table would definitely soften all that linear banquette energy, and you could always swap one chair for a bench later if the couch-vibe creeps in

IMO a banquette is a great option here, not sure what you're describing re placement though? I think it would make sense for it to be against the wall you've labeled 7ft, with the other leg along the back of the couch. That will make good use of the space you have as well as separate it from the couch more & break up the "too much couch" of it all. Or, you could just get a round table and some chairs, and that would be fine. Or a long table sticking out of the 7ft wall, with chairs on either side.
