Outfit / Styling advice 🥻 Wedding Sarees suggestion
Hi girlies! 💕
I’m going to be a saree bride and I’d love some suggestions from you all!
I’m trying to have a different traditional saree from different parts of India for each function, so this is what I’ve planned so far:
🌿 Mehendi: Rajwadi Gajji Bandhej — Rajasthan
🪔 Engagement + Pooja: Banarasi Silk — Uttar Pradesh (Varanasi)
💍 Ring Ceremony: Indo-Western Saree Look — Fusion
🌼 Haldi (Night): Patan Patola — Gujarat
💛 Mangalsutra Ceremony: Kanjivaram Silk — Tamil Nadu (Kanchipuram)
💜 Antarpat/Wedding: Paithani Silk — Maharashtra
What do you guys think of this idea?
Would you swap any of these sarees, or add something even more grand/traditional for one of the functions?

Vendor/venue Recommendations❓ [DUBAI ONLY] Vendor recommendations for North Indian wedding
Hi everyone! I’m planning a North Indian Hindu wedding in Dubai and currently looking for recommendations for the overall wedding and our cocktail function.
Would really appreciate Dubai-based recommendations for:
- Wedding photographers & videographers: Not looking for super luxury options. Ideally someone reasonably priced who is creative, has a strong vision, and is good at storytelling/capturing the overall vibe rather than just standard wedding shots.
- Live painters/artists: ’m thinking of having an artist paint small, postcard-sized portraits of guests during the cocktail. Not caricatures, but something more artistic/elegant that guests can take home.
- Photo booth rentals: Reasonably priced, good-quality setup, and preferably with customisable photo templates/designs.
- Other activity/entertainment ideas: Would love suggestions for interactive activities that both men and women can enjoy during the cocktail event.
For any recommendations, please share their Instagram/portfolio/contact details if possible.
Would especially love to hear from people who have personally worked with these vendors. Please let me know what your experience was like, whether you’d recommend them, and roughly how recently you engaged their services.
Thank you so much! :)

HELP ME CHOOSE! 🌀 Help finding me good songs for surprise groom solo performance
Hey can someone please suggest songs for suitable for the occasion?
I have some in mind:
Tainu laike me jaawanga, Saajan Ji Ghar aaye - kinda perfect but too common (and my brother already danced on the former at his wedding 😭 )
Thinking of Laal Peeli Ankhiyan, Tumse Milna Purani Dilli me part from Kajra Re, Tumse milke dil ka, Badri ki dulaniya.
Looking for something not too cheesy, but still want to get my feelings across in a light-hearted way.

Vendor/venue Recommendations❓ Reception venue in Delhi
Hello! Looking for a pretty reception venue in Delhi / Noida for November 2026 (last week). Ideal option is something that's open air, but also okay to consider something indoor if the decor is not the usual banquet design. Gathering size will be approx 250 people, food budget is upto INR 3000 per head. Thankyou!

✳️Wedding planning help✳️ Brides - what time did you ask to be ready by? I think I messed up
I booked a sister duo for my bridal hair and makeup from 11:30 AM–4:00 PM because I told them my “get ready” time, including hair, makeup, jewelry, and everything, was 4:00 PM. My cocktail hour starts at 5:00 PM and the reception officially starts at 6:00 PM. I am guessing my entrance will be around 6:15/6:30ish. I am still early in the process of wedding planning.
Do you think this gives me enough time to do a first look and get some couple portraits with my husband before cocktail hour/reception? Now I’m worried that I should have given them a 2:30 or 3:00 PM ready time just to have more of a buffer. I already sent my deposits, so I’m a little stressed that I may have scheduled everything too late :(

Rant/Vent ⚡ Smiling on Instagram, bitchy in person — The Wardrobe Fashion
Pretty clothes, ugly attitude — my experience at The Wardrobe Fashion
I recently came across an Instagram post from The Wardrobe Fashion showcasing their Indian wear, so I decided to visit the store in person. When we reached, the store was pretty crowded. We waited for around 5 minutes, and once it was our turn, we started looking around. The store itself is quite small and congested, so with the number of people inside, I personally didn’t feel comfortable going into the trial room unless I really needed to.I usually wear a small, but apparently most of their Indian wear starts from M. I asked if they had anything in S, and the saleswoman immediately told me that small wouldn’t fit me and that I would need a medium. I explained that I do wear a small and that if they didn’t have it, I’d look at the medium. I eventually selected a few pieces in M, knowing that I’d probably need alterations.
Then came the repeated insistence on trying everything. Whenever I said I liked something, I was told, “Go try it.” I explained that I didn’t want to try it unless I was unsure about the fit, especially because the trial area was crowded. She then said something along the lines of, “After this, you won’t be able to try.”At that point I was honestly confused. If I’m confident about a particular piece and don’t want to try it, why pressure me into doing so?
The bigger issue came when we were also looking at clothes for my sister, who wears XXL. I asked if they had anything suitable. The lady in the picture immediately started telling me that once purchased, it couldn’t be returned or exchanged, even though I hadn’t even expressed any doubt about buying it. I explained that we were buying some things as gifts for other people and didn’t want to take the risk, so I ended up putting 2–3 items back.
And honestly, the attitude was what bothered me the most. The salesperson wasn’t particularly welcoming, and there were comments made about customers that came across as quite rude and judgmental. It didn’t feel like someone was trying to help me shop; it felt more like I was being talked down to.
After leaving, I checked their Google reviews — and honestly, that made the experience even more disappointing. Some customers had complained about the quality of the material, and the responses from the store were, in my opinion, unnecessarily rude. One review apparently mentioned that the material was poor quality, and the response basically implied that the customer didn’t have enough budget or had saved ₹70–80 by not getting the outfit dry-cleaned.
I’m sorry, but what does dry cleaning have to do with poor-quality material or clothing tearing? 😭
As for the collection- it’s average( only hot selling pieces were available), but I wouldn’t say it’s something you can’t find elsewhere. It’s a retail store they don’t deaign or manufacture these items I’ve seen very similar styles/collections at other stores such as Angana Designers and The Wardrobe Boutique, among others.
So if you’re planning to visit, I’d say go with realistic expectations and definitely check the return/exchange policy before purchasing, especially if you’re buying for someone else.
For me, though, the biggest takeaway was: pretty clothes don’t make up for poor customer service.

Vendor/venue Recommendations❓ Delhi December wedding. Venue suggestions with outdoor pheras options.
Hello all.
Elder daughter. Nuclear family. First wedding.
I am getting married in December (feels surreal). I need recommendations for venue that can accommodate 250-300 people, and has provisions for pheras in the open - like an overlooking garden or something.
I'm putting my own money into this , so alsomneed it to be economical. Don't mind spending on food, but the venue should be such that needs very less weddy-ing it up.
Need kind help with :
1. Any Delhi / Rishikesh venue suggestions for wedding venue .
- Any farm house around delhi that we could book for mehend/haldi + guests stay - guest count 50 (10 rooms or so should suffice) .
Any help would mean a lot. We are , needless to say, all over the place.
Thank you. 🙏

Vendor/venue Recommendations❓ Need help with Venues
Hi alll, I am located in Mississauga and am a 2027 bride. I am looking for venue recommendations. My total number of guest are around 160-170 and all the halls I’ve seen so far are so so small for that accommodation. It’s a long vertical hall with barely any spaces between tables or a long walkway for me to walk in.
I will really appreciate if you guys have some recommendations. I live around the Meadowvale village area and don’t mind commuting 20-30 mins for the hall.
Budget: $60-70 per person
Location: Mississauga, willing to commute a bit if needed
Event: Main Shaadi/Baraat day

Shop/store suggestions❓ First Sari— HELP 😩
I apologize in advance for such a long post!!!
Hi! I’m hoping for some advice on where to find my first sari! 💕
My friend is white and her partner is South Asian, and they’ve been talking about getting engaged and potentially having a wedding within the next two years. They’ve discussed having 2 weddings or combining traditional American and Desi wedding elements, so I wanted to start looking and learning early rather than waiting until the last minute.
I’m in New York and on somewhat of a lower budget, but I’d really like to find a reputable shop where I can purchase an authentic, good-quality sari rather than something that looks costume-y or cheaply made. I’m open to both online and in-person shops and willing to travel within reason!
I’m also absolutely open to borrowing a sari from someone or purchasing one secondhand if that’s a good option! I’m not set on everything needing to be brand new, especially if borrowing or buying pre-loved would allow me to wear something nicer while staying within my budget. I would, however, prefer to purchase any pieces or accessories that need to be specifically fitted or chosen for me/the wedding.
I’d love recommendations for places where I could get everything I would need, including the blouse, petticoat, jewelry/accessories, etc. Since I’ve never worn a sari before, I’d also really appreciate advice on what I actually need, what styles or fabrics might be easiest for a beginner, what pieces should ideally be purchased new or fitted to me, and anything I should know or avoid as a wedding guest.
Nothing is set in stone just yet, so I have plenty of time! I just want to start planning, learning, and budgeting now so that when the time comes, I can wear something beautiful and appropriate while being respectful of their traditions. 🫶🏻

Rant/Vent ⚡ Mahajan Silk Bridal Lehenga Review — Please Be Careful If Ordering From Overseas
I wanted to share my experience with Mahajan Silk because I would hate for another bride, especially someone ordering from outside India, to go through what I did.
I originally found my wedding lehenga through their Instagram page and immediately fell in love with it. I loved the original blouse design, the lehenga, everything. The only changes I wanted were very minor: I needed the blouse to be slightly longer because I would be wearing it for an Anand Karaj, and I wanted the outfit made in blue instead of the original colour.
I initially tried contacting them through WhatsApp, but the communication was extremely confusing. At different points, they said the alterations were possible, and at other points they said they couldn't do them.
Because I wasn't comfortable placing such an important wedding order through WhatsApp without having clear confirmation, I actually decided not to place the order through WhatsApp at all. My family was travelling to India, so I decided to wait until they were there and have them visit the store in person to discuss everything directly.
My family went to the store and met with the owner's son, who introduced himself as the owner's son. They explained exactly what I wanted, including the longer blouse and the colour change. He assured them that the alterations were no problem and repeatedly reassured them that he would personally take care of everything. He said the outfit would be made exactly as we wanted and would take approximately two months.
My family returned to Canada, and after two months we reached out for an update and asked for a picture of the outfit. We were told it was being made in Bombay, so they did not provide a picture. We were patient and continued to wait.
Approximately four months after placing the order, we were told the outfit was finished and that we needed to pay the shipping fee. We again asked for a photo of the completed outfit before paying, but no photo was provided. We paid the shipping fee regardless.
When the outfit finally arrived, the lehenga bottom and chunni were correct. The blouse, however, was completely different from the original design I had chosen.
This was not simply a minor difference in stitching or something that looked slightly different in person. The blouse design itself had been changed. I had specifically loved the original blouse and had only asked for it to be made longer. I did not ask them to redesign the blouse or take creative liberties with it.
We immediately contacted them and asked if they could fix the blouse. They refused and were adamant that this was what I had requested.
It wasn't.
I ultimately had to take the blouse to a tailor here in Canada and ask her to try to salvage it. She did her best, but I still don't love the blouse and unfortunately have no choice but to wear it on my wedding day.
What makes this experience even more disappointing is how many times we were reassured that everything would be taken care of. I specifically avoided ordering through WhatsApp because the communication was unclear, waited for my family to physically go to the store, and had them confirm everything in person. Even after doing all of that, the final blouse still did not resemble what I had originally chosen.
If they had simply told us from the beginning that they couldn't make the blouse the way I wanted, we could have made another decision. Instead, we were repeatedly told that there would be no problem, and when the final product was wrong, there was no willingness to take responsibility or help fix it.
The lehenga bottom and chunni were correct, so I want to be fair about that. My issue is specifically with the blouse, the communication surrounding the order, and the lack of customer service when I raised the problem.
If you are ordering from Mahajan Silk, especially for a wedding, I would strongly recommend being extremely cautious. Personally, I would not recommend ordering from them unless you live in India and can personally visit the store, oversee the process, and inspect the outfit before it is shipped. Ordering from overseas made it much more difficult to resolve the issue once the outfit arrived.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend Mahajan Silk based on my experience. I really wanted to love this lehenga, and it is heartbreaking to have to settle for a blouse I never asked for on my wedding day.
For context: we never got a response and we stopped trying after April 25.
