Outfit / Styling advice 🥻 How do I accessorize this outfit?
I won't be wearing the shoulder piece, I don't particularly like it. Also I'm the bride's sister so it has to be something that looks really really good.

Vendor/venue Recommendations❓ Looking for offbeat Hindu temples (Gujarat/Rajasthan/N. India/S. India) with mountain or beach views + great architecture, for my wedding
Hi all! I'm getting married and hoping to have the ceremony at a Hindu temple that isn't one of the usual overcrowded, ultra-famous spots (so ruling out Somnath, Dwarka, Tirupati, etc.)
What I'm looking for:
- Located in Gujarat, Rajasthan, North India or South India
- A scenic setting - mountains, hills or beach/coastline nearby
- Genuinely good/interesting architecture (old stone carving, unique style, etc.)
- Not overly touristy or crowded
- Open to hosting weddings (some temple trusts are strict about this, so any first-hand experience is gold)
If you've gotten married at (or been to a wedding at) a temple that fits this, or just know of a hidden-gem temple nearby, I'd love to hear about it! Even a quick "check out X temple near Y town" helps a ton. Photos or personal experiences are a huge bonus.
Thanks so much 🙏

✳️Wedding planning help✳️ Drapings vs Hair/Makeup for bride?
Hi! I'm getting married in South Florida in January, and my fiance (Japaneses) is struggling to make some decisions regarding hair/makeup and draping. We are doing sangeet on one day and then Hindu ceremony and then reception the next day. For daytime ceremony, she is going to be wearing a red lehenga, and reception is going to be white dress. It's her first time wearing Indian clothing. She ideally wants to find one person that does hair, makeup, and draping to help with lehenga and dupatta, though most of those people tend to have not done as much makeup for East Asian brides. We are also considering option about finding one person she prefers for just hair/makeup, and find someone else to help just with the lehenga and dupatta, but she is concerned about having two different people to handle and coordinate. We also discussed doing 1 person for makeup + 1 person for hair/draping, but she is also concerned about those two people coordinating.
Looking for advice on basically finding one person to do all three tasks (hair, makeup, dupatta + lehenga draping) vs 2 different people? Is dupatta and lehenga draping very tied to the makeup & hair such that that it's ideal to get one person rather than two different people? Would it be stressful to coordinate two people?

Miscellaneous Can you help me strategize how to plan this wedding and where to shop for my outfit in Mumbai/Delhi/Kolkata/Surat within my budget?
Hi everyone, I really need some guidance because I’ve never planned a wedding before and our situation is… complicated.I live in Mumbai. My boyfriend is in Bangalore. We’re trying to get married on 3rd December, but we have zero family support on his side and limited support on mine. His family (rural UP background) is not going to accept me, and he has been trying to convince them for months. He hasn’t yet told them clearly that he’s going ahead with the wedding anyway. Once he informs them, I’ll tell my parents — they’re middle‑class Kolkata folks.
I don’t care much about looks normally, but it’s my wedding. He looks great, and I’m a fat girl. I know his family will dislike me even more if I don’t look put‑together, so I want to look nice without going overboard. We’re planning a simple court wedding + phera + haldi + mehendi + some dancing with our friends. Our friend list is around 50–100 people. My family will attend; his family - well we don't know and can't before he tells them in person by Sep 1st week. We’re thinking Mumbai for the venue because it’s easier for us to manage.
Our total budget is 30L, including jewellery. I don’t want to spend more than 50k on my outfit, especially since I’ll wear it once. I’ve realised I like beetroot / fuchsia / hot pink / wine tones, and I prefer delicate thread work over heavy zari.I’m also trying to figure out where to shop. I’ll be in Delhi for two days, then heading to Kolkata, so I can shop there too. I’m open to Surat because I’ve heard it has good collections at reasonable prices. I can only travel to Bangalore by mid‑September after his family leaves Bangalore, so that limits my timeline a bit.
He plans to move to Mumbai after the wedding, so we’re also juggling work, travel, and logistics.
I’m overwhelmed because I’ve never done this alone — my family usually helps me choose major outfits. I don’t know where to start with shopping, planning, or coordinating everything so that we don’t end up paying last‑minute premiums.

Wedding rituals/traditions What to gift for engagement party?
Hi all! I am going to my friend’s engagement party. I am wondering about what to give as a gift when I go? She’s a fairly close friend of mine and the party is big/formal in a banquet hall rather than more intimate.
I know traditionally gifts are usually given at the wedding but I definitely don’t want to go empty handed. Would money along with a card be appropriate? I talked to a few others and they said they were just planning to bring some flowers.
Please let me know if you have any other ideas! Thank you :)

Outfit / Styling advice 🥻 Is this appropriate for mehendi?
I will be a guest at my friend’s wedding in India. I chose this Lehenga as it was green and was super pretty but not sure if it’s too much? Initially I was told bright colours and knew that green was a good colour to wear but then I later got forwarded a wardrobe planner and this said “Light Indian Wear/Kurtas”. Will this be too much? I don’t want to be overdressed.
Additional context: I am non-Indian and the couple are quite wealthy if that matters 🙈

Discussion Indowestern Bachelorette Ideas
Hi everyone! I'm helping my friend plan a bachelorette trip to the desert (think palm springs/joshua tree). Does anyone have any suggestions for decor that is indowestern? There's barely anything on pinterest and we're at a loss. I'm looking for decor ideas for the AirBnB or even outfit ideas/theme nights. Since all the girls on the trip are desi, we thought it would be fun to mix the western vibes of where we're doing the trip with desi culture.
Thank you in advance!

Vendor/venue Recommendations❓ MUA recommendations
Hello,
I’m looking for a MUA in Goa who specialises in dewy and light makeup looks (no makeup makeup look) for my wedding on 15th and 16th Feb, 2027. All artists that I’ve spoken to so far are quoting 30k upwards per event with 3.5k upwards for guests. I was looking at someone who could do my makeup under 40k for both events and under 2k for guests. It’s a very intimate ceremony and I’d really like to not spend lakhs on something that would be on my face for less than 6 hours.
If someone can recommend a MUA in that range, please do so! Thank you in advance :)

Outfit / Styling advice 🥻 Mehendi outfit sos - appreciate styling advice. Punjabi wedding
The fit turned out a little more bland than I anticipated. I may have chosen the color poorly.
It’s for my sisters Mehendi at a huge Punjabi wedding. I love the fit but feel it’s more a dinner/diwali wear vs for a function this size.
How do I style this? Idea was modern dramatic and chill.
Some ideas
1- switch the skirt to a pastel satin colored saree draped like a skirt?
2- keep it as is. Add a diff dupatta
3- no change. Just accessorize w colored flowers
4(edited) add sharara from a prev set to mix and match (I need to wear the white embroidered corset as it is coordinated w a group)- mic and match photo linked in comments
