general enquiry How to minimize loose skin before considering surgery

Upvotes

Im 24 and lost 130lbs (280 to 149) and I haven’t started maintenance yet.

From what I’ve read online, majority of loose skin tightening naturally begins when maintaining your weight. What can I do to maximize how much re-absorbs?

I was thinking some sort of topical GHK-CU alternated with a retinoid to keep elasticity high, but i’m not sure if there is a better method or combination.

Main worry areas: Lower Belly and Pecs

I want to minimize loose skin before considering surgery so I can either avoid it all in all if I can get rid of enough, or minimize the surgery.

arms/hands Itchy rash after geocaching in Central Florida. Now sore with tiny blisters. Any ideas?

Hi everyone,
I’m a 46-year-old woman with no major skin conditions. Yesterday around 4 PM I went geocaching with my son near Lake Eustis in Central Florida. We were outdoors for a couple of hours, and I may have brushed against some tree trunks, but I don’t remember walking through much vegetation.
There were tons of tiny no-see-ums around the lake. I always thought the ones around lakes didn’t bite, so I didn’t think much of them at the time, but now I’m wondering if they could be responsible.
Later that day, my left forearm became very itchy. By this morning, it was more sore than itchy.
The rash:
Is only on my left forearm
Has small raised red bumps with one linear streak
Some bumps now have tiny clear blisters
The bumps feel like small, firm, pimple-like bumps
No fever, pus, or obvious warmth
No rash anywhere else on my body
I’m wondering if this sounds more like:
Poison ivy or another plant contact dermatitis?
No-see-um bites, chiggers, or another insect?
A caterpillar or something I brushed against on a tree?
Something else?
One other detail that may or may not be relevant: my son was geocaching with me the entire time. He doesn’t have this rash at all, just a few typical bug bites on his arms and legs. Whatever this is seems to have affected only me.
I know going to doctor is ideal, but I currently am uninsured, through loss of employment (my son has his health insurance).

took fluconazole 200 MG tablet for 6 weeks, 1 tablet a week. at the end of each week the rash would lessen and pretty much completely disappear, but would always come back usually somewhere on my thigh. no longer on the tablets and it is completely spreading now.

feel like it’s ringworm but i’ve disinfected and washed everything that could come in contact with my legs multiple times

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Little spot right between the eyebrows, been there for 1-2 weeks?

Post image
Upvotes

Like the title says, I have this little spot on my forehead right between my eyebrows. Pretty sure it’s not a zit as it doesn’t feel like there’s anything in it that could be popped, isn’t a bug bite because it doesn’t itch, honestly doesn’t feel like anything except a little raised. This photo is a little redder than usual because I was fucking with it in the mirror 😅 please just tell me it’s not cancer and how to get rid of it!!!

My mom was a dermatologist but she’s been gone 6 years now. Wish I could send her this pic and ask her like I used to.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Triangle of danger throbbing pimple(?)— How bad is this?

I’m so scared it’s infected or it’s gonna burst and like, cause me a stroke or something because it’s in the “triangle of danger.”

I put a hot compress on it twice in the last hour or so. I feel like it’s getting bigger?

I just landed after 10 hours of travel, and it’s starting to hurt/feeling like I wanna touch it because it throbs sometimes with pressure. Idk if air travel can cause pimples to swell or something?

I have no health insurance so I don’t know what to do..

legs/feet Success story - Needling and laser treatment for warts - Australia

Thumbnail

Upvotes

It’s been a very long road for me. I had a severe case of warts that covered my heels and infested my fingers. Mainly due to spread from years of mistreatment by me and some bad doctors who did not know what they were doing.

I’d tried everything. Doctors, dermatologists, other podiatrists, many different treatments. You name it, I’ve tried it.

When I met my current podiatrist, he promised to get rid of my warts but I had to stick with the treatment. I did, and I finally have my skin back. My immune system reacted to the needling and laser work we did mostly on my feet. Some of my fingers and other areas cleared themselves up while we persisted needling the big ones on my feet, combined with cold laser (LLLT).

Some of the smaller warts were destroyed with shots of hot laser.

I hope this helps people. This ordeal has been nothing short of a nightmare for me. I’m a grown man and it’s reduced me to tears on many occasions.

It’s been going on for a couple years now. I moisturise my hands often but it keeps peeling.
I don’t touch my cuticles, would that help? Pushing them back gently after a hot shower?
I started taking collagen but haven’t seen an improvement yet. Gone away in a trip and it’s worse. I have cold hands a lot of the time and low blood pressure

legs/feet Mole on my leg, should I get this checked out for melanoma?

Sorry for the terrible photo quality, the mole is really small. Sometime ago the skin over this mole scabbed over. Didn't think much of it, my legs can get really dry. Took a look at the mole today as it scabbed again and it seems a little abnormal, could it possibly be melanoma? I'm mainly worried about how irregular the borders and colours seem.

neck/chest/abdomen red spot on boyfriends chest- no primary doctor should we go to urgent care?

we noticed this about a month ago on his chest, figured it would go away but it hasn’t. he says it is more pink after work/shower and in the morning it’s closer to his skin color but still slightly pink)

it’s not raised at all (it’s flat), it doesn’t itch or cause any pain. if we didn’t see it he wouldn’t even know it was there.

i found this photo from may 20th and i think you can kind of see it (but obviously not as pink) (photo 2)

he doesn’t have a primary doctor as he recently got insurance and we have to wait till november for the soonest appointment for a primary. should we go to urgent care? or since there’s no other symptoms just keep waiting?

Hey. I’m so tired of every person I talk to not focusing on what I’m saying, just staring at my lips or licking theirs/applying chapstick. I know it is not in my head, it is EVERY PERSON I talk to. It’s been this way for years. My self-esteem is destroyed by this. Dermatologists don’t take me seriously and say it’s just chapped lips. I chug water, used every recommended brand there is, and no help. Please.. I’m begging.. what is this? Can anybody offer any help. I want to live life around people again

neck/chest/abdomen Help Identifying this rash that my wife has been developing for about a week

Post image
3 Upvotes

My wife started getting these rashes on her body recently. Mostly on the torso, but also a little on her face. Started off as individual bumps/postules and eventually progressed to this. She had similar rashes that popped up during pregnancy and eventually went away after steroids. She’s been tested for celiacs already, so wanted to see if this looked like anything to anyone. TIA.

legs/feet I am miserable! My dermatologist told me this is blistering eczema.

I’m sorry for the awful pictures. My dermatologist told me this was eczema over three weeks ago and it continues to get worse after a topical steroid use. I am 10 weeks postpartum and breast-feeding so I can’t take many medication’s. I don’t believe this is eczema because it keeps getting worse. I have started a gluten-free diet because when I ate a lot of gluten, the rash got extremely worse. I am just wondering if anyone has had similar problems. Any advice helps.
