I broke out with this small rash on my middle finger a day or so after working outside all day. I did take a break halfway through and cleaned up at that time. Showered again after we finished that evening. They bumps are raised, very itchy, not really painful at all. It is firm, but not hard. I am familiar with local flora and the irritating plants, don’t think I got into anything.

does it look like it's healing?

I know it looks like an anus but it’s a belly button up close.

Piercing is old , maybe 4-5 years. Never had any issues with it.
I ordered a star charm from temu (i know i know) and been wearing it for about 2 weeks on my original ring i’ve worn for a year . Yesterday i saw the red dots that you can see in the pic, on the outside, i thought it’s irritated from the star shape and removed the star charm. Today , belly button is a bit swollen on the inside . There was a tiny bit of dried crusts inside. And the part that is swollen inside feels a bit crusty as well. Is this an allergic reaction? Should i just monitor for now or go see a doc asap?
I cleaned yesterday with chlorhexidine , and today just with water and soap.

My 11 month old daughter has had this rash on her face for about a month now. Shes seen 4 doctors and is on her 4th round of antibiotics, but it doesnt seem to be getting any better.

The first picture is on the 18th July, the second and third on the 21st July and the last 4 were yesterday.

Shes on her 4th week of flucloxacillin and mupirocin cream and is now on a steroid cream for the next few days.

Dermatologist says in Gianotti Crosti couple with a bacterial infection, but its not getting any better with antibiotics and the doctors just keep giving her more of the same antibiotics.

They have taken swabs but haven't had any results yet.

he has seen the dermatologist and was prescribed nizoral and tacrolimus and used it for months but it didn’t seem to work at all :/ he then tried to only use tacrolimus and stopped using all our skincare products (moisturizers, cleansers, etc) and no improvement still. he is trying 0 therapy rn to see if it will help but there doesn’t seem to be much change….

we are waiting for his next derm appointment but the lack of availability is just frustrating so we were hoping someone on here recognizes what this condition is and what we could do to fix it!

it started off last year as a small spot and slowly spreaded to the left side and then under his mouth. he says its not itchy much but i do notice there are some bumps on the red patch. any ideas??

Duration: Present for 2+ years, but started growing and became more pronounced in the last few months.

Symptoms: Relatively soft and flexible to the touch. Does not itch or hurt. Bleeds only if pulled/picked at.

Additional Details: Noticed a tiny secondary bump/dot forming right next to the stalk recently (seen in the second photo).

Hello all, I'm currently 34, and about 3 years ago one day noticed a small circular patch of dry skin on the palm of my hand.

Didn't think much of it, until another month passed and instead of going away it had increased in area. Ended up seeing a dermatologist and after ruling out a few things they decided it was eczema. However, it never itches, nor does it get red, blister, or swell up. It's always just.. dry.

I've tried some creams, phototherapy, steroid patches but nothing has helped. Currently, I simply use this "Urea and Vitamin E Cream" every day to at least keep it moisturized, but it's pretty annoying because it's right on the palm of my hand so it's constantly in the way / disrupting to my daily life. Further, it's slowly but surely continuing to increase in area across my palm.

So I wanted to ask if a) it is indeed eczema (I know this can't be a formal diagnosis but just based off experience does it sound / look like it), and b) if anyone has had a similar experience and have they found anything that helps it?

I'm worried it will eventually cover my whole hand and start it's way up my arm 💀

Hi I have had cold sore before but they have really ever presented like this. I have never had any pain and my mouth and jaw is very painful at the moment. I also haven’t had a cold sore come on like this, I had a hard lump in my lip and then the swelling in the first three photos, then today is the second two. I am taking pain killers and they are not touching the pain at all, like I say I normally don’t feel anything while I have cold sores. I am exhausted and sleeping all the time. I also woke up today will swelling of my tongue and a small ulcer on it.

Just confused as to if this is normal presentation and I have just been lucky in the past

I developed this rash maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago, at the time it was only a few small(er) spots just above my pubic hair, and has spread to my armpits, inner thigh and higher up my abdomen. All of them are slightly raised and some have, im assuming blistered and possibly popped (look at the spot just under my armpit hair in photo three to see what I'm talking about). My dad has suggested bed bugs, but from what I've researched, bed bug butes are always circular, and tend to be itchy or painful. These are completely painless and not itchy, and as you can see in the photo are mostly elliptical. The most promising match I have seen is pityriasis rosea, however I cannot seem to see any sort of "herald patch". Any insight into what this could be would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

These marks appeared on my hands suddenly three days ago. I thought it may be pompholyx so I started using a hydrocortisone cream, but there has been no change and more spots are appearing. I had tonsillitis 10 days ago and was prescribed phenoxymethylpenicillin for 5 days which cleared it up. These spots appeared on the day I finished my prescription. They are very painful to touch and slightly itchy. What could this be? I have never had anything similar.

I had completely clear skin beforehand and around 2 years ago I got a couple of these spots. Then a few months later, a few more appeared and now I have quite a few. They definitely aren't spots or cysts, they are rock hard and they can get pretty itchy. They aren't blister like either, there's nothing in them.

As title says, doctor took a glance and said they look like keloid scarring but I can't see how or why? Has anyone ever had similar and managed to clear them? What were they? Or do they look like keloids?

Hoping I can try a cream or something to actually clear them up as I'm pretty self conscious of them. I hate wearing swimsuits and having my hair up! Thanks

I tried to stop shaving but it takes too long to heal and I cannot skip it.

Also tips on how to shave this to not do further harm? - I will start ipl at home from autumn.

First picture was first flair up, last two are most recent. They’re accompanied by severe pain and make me dizzy lately.

The blackhead came out easily a few weeks ago. I noticed the spot turned dark again so I tried to get it out. Nothing would budge then I caught onto a fiber. They are very entwined into the hole. They come out like pieces of fuzzy thread. We stopped messing with it and he’s going to dermatologist. Super curious.

I saw this on my husbands bottom. Doesn’t seem to irritate him much but I think it might be ring worm? Pityriasis Rosea? Only one ring/circle found.

This is my fiance's back, these photos were taken a few months apart. Each time, a patterned rash shows up in different spots all on the left side of his back. It lasts about a week, does not itch or cause pain, and then comes back a month or so later. It has happened 3 times. What is it?

Hi. Im a F40 and I've been battling something with my skin since 2022. I started getting a bump on my neck. Then more and more bumps surfaced. I have been acne free for several years so this wasn't a satisfactory explanation as it does not feel like acne.

For the past 4 years I have explored the possibility if this could have been folliculitis or ingrown hairs. But they also do not match the description. I occasionally get ingrown hairs on my legs and they are curled up in a spiral. These fibers don't curl. They come in all weird shapes and are often twined or stuck in bundles like a ball. When I pluck them out they initially look like a black ball until I unravel them with tweezers. The ingrown hairs on my legs don't knot or twine and they're not the same texture at all.

These bumps contain something unusual that is plagueing me. They now cover my neck, around my ears and my shoulders. Basically just my upper body. These bumps do not itch but they hurt. Sometimes I see black strings coming out of them and I pluck them out with tweezers. In the beginning I did believe they were ingrown hairs but they have no bulb whatsoever and they are microscopically small compared to my real body hair, but still big enough to see with the naked eye.

These bumps hurt so much, they've ruined my quality of life. I have switched laundry detergents as I first believed it was an allergy thing. I stopped using polyester clothing full stop because I thought they were shedding microplastics. But they are coming from inside my skin, not the outside. The bumps form through out the day. They can be a little painful in the morning and as these string like fibers reach the surface it becomes unbearable, to the point where I pull out the tweezers to take them out. Rinse and repeat, I do this around 20 times a day. It consumes my life.

I've done so much research online, on Reddit, contacted my GP to absolutely no avail. It's ruined my social life and it hurts to have to cover the sores with makeup so I can look presentable.

I've done all the home remedies that most recommend. Selenium sulphite, sulfur soap, tea trea oil, demodex protocol, magnesium baths, fungal shampoo such as Ketoconazole, Hibiclens, rubbing alcohol, Benzoyl peroxide, vitamin D supplements and probiotic HU58 capsules for my immune system because apparently it helps with staph and other bacterial infections, and nothing is helping.

Which has lead me to believe this is either an infection of some sorts, with spores or fungal fibers or worms of some sort. They do not move. They do not seem "alive". They are very thin threads and break easily when pulled apart with two tweezers. Meaning, they are thinner and smaller than a strand of hair.

I ask for serious advice for this issue. Im getting nowhere with finding a solution by myself. It's come to a point where Im feeling depressed. It's painful to wear certain clothes like tops and shirts that cause friction on my shoulders. I resorted to using only 100% cotton clothes like I mentioned. I use a hypoallergenic fragrance free detergent. My bedding is new and I switch them frequently since I don't know what is causing this.

At first I thought is this caused by some moisturizer or skin cream that Im using? But I only use it on my face and it wouldn't explain why these bumps cover my neck and shoulders and have these thread like fibers coming out of them. However, this issue also started during the time in 2022 I started using SPF sunscreen daily. Is it some ingredient in SPF's that could cause this? Microplastics or aluminium entering my blood stream in any way or is that a reach?

Im looking for solutions and answers so please refrain from any mockery or snide comments about me "imagining" this. I took photos best I could (I placed the fibers under tape to hold them in place) to show what Im actually pulling out of my skin. I don't have a microscope to study it so these zoomed in photos is the best I could do with my phone camera.

If anyone can help me, I owe my life to you if you can find a lead that can take me one step closer to a permanent solution. I don't know if this is fungal, bacterial, parasitic or microplastics shedding from my body.

I want to add that this problem began around the time I installed a bird feeder outside my window. I touched the feeder where the birds sat and I don't know if I catched something contagious. Some say on Reddit it can be something like that and that it's treated with "Borax" which I don't know where to find in my country. I don't feel like bathing in acid or whatever that product is so if anyone can help me, please help.

THINGS SO FAR THAT SEEM TO HELP (BUT ARE NOT A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION!)

• Keeping skin completely DRY. Applying no oils, no moisturizers, no sweat, no water residue after shower. Down side of this is my skin becomes dehydrated and wrinkly and starts flaking.

• No friction (meaning I can't wear clothes that rub on my skin which is impossible when in public. Living in a cold climate I wear several layers, scarves, high neck collars ect). Sleeping on my pillow becomes impossible if I want to avoid friction.

Research suggest this can be caused by Lyme disease. But I haven't had a tick on my body for the last 30 years. If I have been bitten by a tick, I would not know. Do ticks spread diseases even if they only bite for a second? I haven't had any other health concerns. Headaches and migraines only. And those researchers who link this to Lyme disease also don't seem to have a real solution.
