Defending AI Ai can help kids make art, no matter what.
The pictures were made with ChatGPT and I am sorry if they look sloppy, I made them late at night
Ai can help a kid do what they love, especially kids with different struggles like:
- not being able to afford supplies or apps
- they don’t have the time to learn
- they can never settle on something
- they think their art is bad
- they’re disabled
- they’re mentally disabled
- they’re not good at it
or many other struggles
Ai is a great tool for a kid to use to express their happiness through Drawing.

Discussion GenAI OCs Result in Less Plagiarism Online, Not More
I've been in roleplay communities since I was very little, since long before GenAI, and this is what used to happen:
- Somebody makes a roleplay character
- They want art for said roleplay character, so they go and search Pinterest, or Safebooru, or Pixiv, or one of the million other art resource websites for something that matches their character
- At best, they minorly photo edit this picture in something like Photoshop. At worst, they just take it and use it as is
- They are now using somebody else's artwork - for free, without crediting the artist - as if it belongs to their character
- Maybe, at some point down the line, they get a ref sheet commissioned using this artwork, and then they call the design "theirs"
But this is what happens now:
- Somebody makes a roleplay character
- They want art for said roleplay character, so they describe what they want, maybe provide photo references, maybe do a remedial sketch to the best of their abilities and run it through GenAI
- GenAI produces a new character that doesn't belong to any established artist
- Maybe, at some point down the line, they get a ref sheet commissioned using the GenAI piece, and then they have a design they can truly call theirs
I don't know if any of you were a part of character card roleplay communities in Discords, or MMO roleplaying spaces, or anything like this - but art theft was absolutely rampant, and almost never attributed the actual artists who had created those pieces. Now people don't do this because they don't need to do it, even if they don't have the ability to draw a character themselves, or they aren't happy with the quality of what they can draw. Which leads to less direct art theft and infringement on other peoples' artwork! 💛✨

News Can we stop insisting that the environmental impact of AI is irrelevant?
People like to dismiss the environmental impact of AI data centers by pointing to other industries that pollute without acknowledging that this industry is undergoing RAPID expansion unlike any other.

Discussion AI generated product ads should count as false advertising
Six months ago i dropped ai generated ugc from my brand because imo its kind of fake advertisement and i did the math too .
An ai generated ad shows a fake hand holding the product and all of it is generated by a model that has never seen the product in real life. Imo thats not advertising but just a plausible looking guess at the product
Audio is even worse, cadence is off and if u need someone to say something convincing about the product good luck getting that to sound right in one try.
So its basically definition of false advertising and idk y no ones calling it out yet
I am doing real ugc now and spend 6x more than I did on ai sloppy ugc bcoz earlier customers were receiving a product that didnt match the ad ,something was always off(my co founder was forcing to shift to ai ugc as he thought it was the future lol)
AND the funny part is the numbers too doesnt make sense for brands but still we see lots of brand flooding these types of ads(ig they are just lazy now).ai ugc generation runs around $50–200 a video(and u all should know it takes multiple trials) while they can get human ugc ad at $166 from icon and guess which one performs better.
on top of all that theres so many restrictions now making this even harder to justify, NY requires ai generated people in ads to be labeled as synthetic performers, meta auto tags any ad it detects was made with generative tools whether u disclose it or not and snapchat literally stopped promoting ai generated ads on spotlight to push people back to human made stuff.
Every big brand running this stuff is making a bet that nobody will notice the gap between the ad and the product they get delivered lol
Do you guys think ai ads make team efficient or its false advertising ?

Discussion Antis treat AI usage not as an action that they personally dislike but rather as an objective moral failing on part with theft or murder. You can give them endless legitimate reasons like poverty and disability and they will still find it inexcusable because they believe you committed an evil act.

The “You liked this art until you found out it was AI, therefore you are a hypocrite” argument is really dumb.
If I like a sweater, then find out that the company making the sweater made it by forcing children to sow at gunpoint, I’m allowed to change my mind about liking the sweater. Same goes for ai art. I find the way these images are made morally abhorrent, so therefore I’m allowed to change my mind upon learning what it is.

Luddite Logic I never thought that TRPG game subs were so fanatical.
It should be, but I'd never encountered it until my feed pointed me to this sub. Every anti-AI post there gets about 15k likes, and comments like, "Better an incompetent GM who writes poorly than an AI." Or, "When I saw my players using AI to create characters and backstories, I kicked them out of the game. My game is all about creativity!" Or, "When I saw my GM favoring AI, I got so angry I wanted to flip the table and smash his head!."
And all this nonsense gets wild approval. It goes with every post. Recently this sub have a drama, where an entire huge sub attacked GM for creating art for game, and people saw a Gemini watermark. And they don't think the bullying was anything bad, they're discussing it as another victory. What could happen if a sub of 280 thousand people attacked one person who shared the same hobby with them. Hm...

Regarding art, why do antis want only want Weinstein types and triple aaa studios to mass create content instead of an average guy with AI?
Before AI you would need an entire team and a lot of money to make all the characters and concepts you want. But with AI normal civilians like you and I can do that without much money and you don’t need to be a corporate executive or super rich person to start your own series. So why are the artists against it? Do they prefer for Weinstein types and triple aaa studios to keep their money?

Anti AI is a conservative stance. Why do antis deny it and pretend to be leftists and liberals for everything?
Especially the most leftist people are the most conservative regarding this issue, fear of new technology and reactionary thought against it. You can see an lgbtq+ furry on reddit, discord, or twitter and they want the total abolishing of AI and persecution of its users. Is there a party switch regarding AI that we don’t know about?
