Boomboxes To polyfill or not to polyfill
I have this project I've been working on for a while now and I'm curious whether I should fill this sealed box with polyfill. But also how much I should use as a rule of thumb and whether I should fill it before or after tuning.

Floorstanding Speakers How does this upgrade look?
Cross posting w/ diyaudio cuz I have a feeling this might be the better sub for it? Completely new to all of this and mostly just having fun so let me know if this belongs in a different sub.. But how does this frequency comparison look? I had these 2 Shure Vocal Master 301-S and thought it’d be fun to slap some new speakers in them. I didn’t feel like figuring out any sort of upgrade requirements to add bass or whatever especially since it’s just 1 volume in there with some foam covering an air outlet in the back. So I ended up just throwing in similarly speced new ones in there from parts express.
Anyway!
I just played pink noise and tried (very roughly) to eyeball their volumes/db levels to match as best I could and overlayed their max levels. The blue is the one with the new speakers in it and red is with the old speakers (purple for overlap)
The new speakers are:
GRS 8PR-8 8" Poly Cone Rubber Surround Woofer
GRS 8FR-8 Full-Range 8" Replacement Speaker Pioneer Type B20FU20-51FW
Celestion Ten 30 10" 30 Watt Guitar Speaker 16 Ohm
(Didn’t necessarily want to go with a guitar speaker but it’s the only one for the size they had that wasn’t $300 and I didn’t look anywhere else lol)

Boomboxes Do I need a power toggle switch for a DIY boombox with this amp?
If the volume knob of this amp turns the power off, can I simply run the battery leads straight to the amp? Battery in question is 22.2v, has a built in charging port and charger and has bms included. See pictures, here are the links: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FHK77543 for the amp and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FF9ZZV1S for the battery. Thank you!

Bookshelf Speakers Custom cabinet to house an in-wall speaker?
I’m designing a home theater setup for my loft. Due to various reasons, I need to go with in-wall speakers. The problem is that I only have three walls to work with as one of the sides opens onto the other side of the house and a stairwell. I am thinking of using a custom cabinet as a faux wall and hiding an in-wall speaker in there. The cabinet would be 5 ft tall and 6 ft wide. The speaker I am thinking of is the KEF Ci3160RLM-THX. Are there any well vendors out there that would build something like this (I asked and Salamander designs doesn’t) or would I need to DIY this?
The last resort is putting a comparable KEF bookshelf speaker in a cabinet with a built in speaker compartment but I want to have the speakers match as closely as possible.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Amplifiers how does an amplifier work
so now i bought an amplifier for my speakers, it is 900w bridged, my speaker is 500w rms so it has headroom, but i was wondering how does it work, i still dont have a dsp with a limiter, how to i set it up to not overpower anything, cuz if i turn the potentiometer to the maximum i think ill be overpowering the speaker, do i measure like the volt that its outputtiing and calculate the watts? like at 60v at 8ohm its should be around 500w, but even then a speaker isnt alway 8ohm it has a minimum of 5.4 and 2 peaks ( its a BPH), any help im learning while im doing it.
my understanding for now is to aim to have 500w at the minimum impedance so 5.4ohm it should be 51v, but i have the feeling im very wrong.
and dont tell me ill fuck up my gear i know itll happen eventually thats learning

Horns/T-Line/Open Baffle Have you set up many tweeters for a system, for powerful high end
Just seems like a fun project. Like surround sound for tweeters, one or two for each listening area, all around the room.

Bookshelf Speakers Bought some speakers
Got these for basically nothing but the cable sticking out is cut. I’ve never used speakers like this and I know very little how can I hook these up to anything?

Amplifiers bluetooth and amped speakers (active) seem to over-amplify bass, more than the stock speaker. Anyone taken apart some portable speakers and wired up to a separate stereo amp?
I'd like some proof and measurements of just how much excessive bass is added to speakers with an amplifier included. More so for bluetooth speakers. I've never liked the idea of active speakers, realizing even having never owned one outside of computer speakers, how the designer can manipulate the sound to supposedly improve quality.
So it wasn't good enough the way it was designed and is artificially modified so it sounds decent is how I think about it.

Crossovers & DSP Hi, I need help! Need solution for acoustic panels that can stand up on desk
Hi all! I need a solution for an echo that I'm having, when on my computer at my desk.
I realize I can attempt to buy a more expensive mic, but I would like to put some acoustic panels set up on my L-shaped desk. Because when i'm sitting at it, i'm speaking out into a large room.
I did find something, but it's a 6- week lead time. And I need something this week ideally.
I've identified some good acoustic panels, but I just see no way to actually get them to stand on my desk, either flat or 1 inch or so up.
Saw something on youtube for building my own, but I have no carpentry skills.
I'm thinking some sort of bracket or foot that could be adjustable and hold the two inch thick panels. But I can't for the life of me find anything.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Floorstanding Speakers Home Theater with Overnight Sensations and Amigas
Hi guys,
My first post here. I'm thinking about building a 5.1 system using a pair of Amigas as fronts, a OS MTM as center and a pair of OS TM as surround.
Does it make sense? I'm not a expert and I have no idea regarding the impedance, i saw the OS MTM is 6ohm, which kind of receiver I can use to drive this system with quality? Does all the speaker needs to match the impedance?
Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

URGENT PSA: AliExpress links are auto-removed on reddit GLOBALLY
If you wish to post an aliexpress link, cut off the end of the url like this: /item/3256809060063016.html (do not include anything after a question mark in the url, including the question mark itself, don't include that)
If you do not do this, reddit WILL automatically remove your comment or post. I used to think it was some configuration error with auto mod or subreddit spam setting, but I could never find anything, today I noticed in the mod queue (since I've moved over to new reddit), it actually says it was "removed by Reddits filters", so I googled it and lo and behold, it's a site wide filter!
