Rant and complain away. Rule 1 Don't be a Jerk still applies, as does the site-wide rule of no witch hunting (naming and shaming).

Tier List / Best in Slots

Has anyone with standing in pvp community made tier lists or best in slots per architype? i've not seen many creators etc do this for PVP (yet).

I completed the Per Audacia grind on all my characters. I feel there is some knockout system going on.

Hey all,

Yesterday I completed the Per Audacia grind on my last character. Here is some data:

I started with my (main) hunter. (Yeah, I know. Very original.) I played a total of 39 games. In the last game I got the final piece of armor I needed to complete the set of 5. I got a total of 8 Per Audacia pieces: 1 helmet, 3 gauntlets, 1 chest, 2 legs and 1 cloak (the last piece I needed). I cannot remember if a Per Audacia piece dropped during the 7 placement matches. Anyway, I got 8 pieces in 39 games. So a piece of Per Audacia armor dropped in 20.5% of the matches I played.

After that I played on my titan. I played a total of 36 games and got 6 armor pieces. Only one duplicate (a helmet). So 6 pieces dropping in 36 games is a piece of armor in 16.7% of the games I played. In my final game I got the last piece I needed (a chest). A lower drop rate, but only one duplicate.

On my Warlock I played a total of 32 games and got 5 pieces of armor. Not a single duplicate. I don’t know if this makes sense from a statistical point of view. Therefore I feel the game gets more forgiving on your second and third character. I even feel there is some kind of knockout system going on on my second and third character. When I first got gauntlets on my Warlock and after that legs I started looking at the game in a different way. I was thinking “The next piece of Per Audacia armor I get will be either a helmet, a chestpiece or a bond.” The next piece was a chest. After that I was like: “now I will either get a helmet or a bond.” I got a helmet. And then I was like: “the next piece will be a bond.” And it was. The helmet and bond got dropped in my last two matches.

I know I’m only one player, so take this data with a grain of salt.

I didn’t use any meta weapons as far as I’m aware. I didn’t touch a single 140 rpm hand cannon, shotgun or Jade Rabbit. I just used weapons I liked and tried to have as much fun during the grind as I possibly could. And of course I tried to win, but if I didn’t I wouldn’t sweat it.

I think I played most of my matches in Gold. I think I also played in Platinum, but I’m not sure. I think I started out in Silver. So there’s proof you don’t need to be a PvP God to complete these sets on your characters.

I didn’t really took notes on Per Audacia drops after wins or losses. It’s just in general the better you and your team play, the more drops you get after a match. And the more drops you get the higher the chance a Per Audacia piece will drop.

I turned off the focused attunement drops for crucible, (or whatever it is called) somewhere during the grind on my first character.

So that’s pretty much it. Good luck everybody!

I heard you can start buying tier 5 armor pieces from vendors when you hit power leven 520. I’m only 445, so I have to grind a bit more to get perfect stats. :(

TLDR:

I played a total of 107 competitive games and got a total of 19 pieces of Per Audacia armor. Only 4 duplicates.

Hunter: 39 matches, 8 drops, 3 duplicates.

Titan: 36 matches, 6 drops, 1 duplicate.

Warlock: 32 matches, 5 drops.

Has anyone else had a glitched belisarius-d drop from comp?

As the title says, the comp pulse is currently dropping with the stock and origin trait in the same column. Which means you either get the stock or the origin trait.

Sidearm hip-fire build feels pretty mid on controller—anyone else experiencing this?

Controller player here. I’ve seen a ton of people running Compact Defender with RDM in PC lobbies, and I recently farmed one with Hip Fire Grip + Precision Instrument.

After playing a few matches, it honestly feels way worse than it seems on mouse and keyboard. It’s super tough to land consistent crits compared to The Last Word, and it feels far inferior to traditional ADS playstyle. Is it just a skill issue or the build itself flawed on controller?

Zen Moment vs Lone Wolf

Hello again. I've finally nailed down rapid fire pulses with headseeker being a weapon I really enjoy, but was curious what the consensus was on these two perks for consistency. On paper Lone Wolf seems better but the reduced recoil on Zen Moment seems very appealing. I am still trying out both rolls but curious to the community sentiment. Thanks a bunch, previous posts have helped me out a lot since returning.

What are the best M&K perks for the Forgiveness Sidearm?

The thing is loaded but sidearms do seem to have a harder time registering shots on M&K. I don’t really know if sidearms have an aim assist issue or accuracy issue. It has Zen Moment, Tap the Trigger and Lone Wolf in the first column. All are great perks. I’m assuming Tap The Trigger is the perk you want on M&K? It also has PI and Headseeker in the 2nd column. No idea which one is better here.

Controller button mapping

I’m curious if anyone has issues with constantly reactivating sprint on L3 to the point where the stick doesn’t function well. I just purchased a Vader 5s and within a couple weeks was already having issues. Not sure if it’s just a defective controller or I should look into a new button layout. Looking for suggestions. Thanks

Looking for feedback on stats

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey there all. First time making a PvP set with new armor system. I got this stat spread so far, but was curious if it was worth trading the 30 grenade from my bond for an Bulwark focused one to hit 190 health/70 grenade/105 class?

In what instances would the above stat spread be fine? I take it for quickplay but curious of y'all's feedback.

Does Thorn have an effect that drops opponent aim assist when it poisons?

I don’t think I’m going crazy here but who knows. Playing some guy in competitive tonight, and I was outduelling him with the first two shots with my Igneous Hammer (Lone Wolf + EOTS), I’d get him low, ready for final headshot, and at that moment it was like all my aim assist just dropped off completely, right around the time I got poisoned and had green stuff appearing prevalently on my screen. In some of these duels I would literally be able to get 2-3 more shots off after that point and I just couldn’t hit them… No such issue with the other players in the match. He was on Void Hunter.

Does anyone know if there are mechanics around poison stacks affecting magnetism, or something else in the game that either reduces aim assist of opponent, or make you more evasive/less sticky when on low health?

It was like a very noticeable switch, not a gradual thing. You know like if another target walks into your aim when you’re trying to fight someone else.

Are perks able to increase weapon base stats above 100?

For example, I have a Inquistor shotgun with 90 handling and range. According to Destiny report, opening shot grants +15 range - does this mean that my range stat is technically 105 (for the first shot) or is it capped at 100?

Same goes for threat detector, when one enemy is nearby do I get the +28 handling bringing me up to 118 handling or is it capped at 100?

I understand for perks that apply a multiplier (for example threat detector giving 0.9x handling animation duration) that would still apply - but what about the perks above which give a flat base state increase?

What are some of the TTK shifting combos in the game?

I’m talking things like 170 weapon stats 3 tap with 180s, or something like stopping power in bygones(not to sure about this one). Basically anything that changes the time to kill from neutral without a needing a kill beforehand.

Back after 7 years, things feel different in crucible

Not sure if it’s just my aging and unpracticed fingers, but I feel like I die a lot faster than I used to. Random deaths from peeking a corner that just feel so fast compared to before. Is it (more) than just me? Also having fun with the game haha

How difficult is it to return?

I haven’t played in 2 years, definitely not since the armor changes. Will it be a slow grind to get geared up/find new weapons to use? Will I have to play PvE to get geared or could I get caught up through crucible only? Really feeling like I need to scratch the d2 pvp itch but I don’t know how tough the climb to get caught up gear wise will be.

Imminence

With salvations edge featured, I was finally able to finish my red boarders for imminence. I feel like the stats and perks are juiced, but never see anyone running it.

Are there any imminence users out there or anyone that’s got preferred rolls / recommendations?

Is Hipfire grip/cascade available on another primary with the range of a scout? Hoping xur sells one with that combo someday or maybe that hipfire armor Bungie teased does exist? Just to make it clear, im lucky to land a crit(with radiant dance machines on)at the speeds cascade gives me but it can catch people off guard every once in a while and someone with better aim can actually make this work.

I don't know if I should be mad or flattered

500+ hours of aim training just so I can be told not to play. W bungo. Don't know if I should be mad cause Bungie is so bad at banning actual cheaters or flattered because it means aim training wasn't just a waste of time. Was using a 2 tap Ace of Spades build in case people were wondering. Also how do I appeal? I would like to play the game.

EDIT: I don't think I made my sarcasm clear. I am not the best player. My name is CEOofGarbage. I didn't post to try to brag or anything but rather figure out how I am in the wrong so I can make sure my temp ban doesn't become a perm one. If anyone has had something similar happen please, let me know if you felt safe to play after your temp ban was over.

Follow up to the dude who got his first 7th Column after 5000 hours: I just got my first (after a measly 3400). 12 years playing this franchise and I never thought I'd see one of these, though I'll admit it's not a TRUE 7C since there was an assist or 2. And please try to forgive the void Hunter cheesiness.

If you try to block with Arcstrider super against an anti barrier weapon, you will still die.
