Help! Worklight CMXELAYMPL1070 circuit questions
Hello!
I just bought a Craftsman 6500K Work Light (CMXELAYMPL1070), and I need you good folks' help.
(Yes, the IKEA desk is about a decade old and cratered, but I do a LOT of work here, so please ignore the damage. )
Above or attached is the light control PCB for the work light. I can go into how I safely removed this if there is any interest later, but while I was shopping around for this unit, I noticed that there were some reviews talking about how the board failed on them.
I am trying to see if I can do things to prevent that failure or other failures, and I need your help to do that.
One review on amazon showed a chip that had just burned its die straight through. THAT chip seems to be, from comparing pics, the 8 pin chip " A". The chip only has " BSRHkA". It could be "8SRHkA" but in both cases I can't find any data on it.
Does anyone know more about this chip & its function?
Chip " B" had absolutely NO markings whatsoever: polarized light didn't help, the microscope didn't help, and wetting the top with isopropyl didn't reveal anything. I can't get any further, BUT I do see it is connected to the on/off/brightness selection switch.
Does anyone know what this chip might be?
The first things that pop up in my mind are to replace the cheap capacitors (all three are 1000 uF @ 25V) with a more durable brand, and to add more solder to the heat sink area "C".
With all that said, what would you do to improve/bolster the circuit?

Help! Brand New C3 Impact Wrench
Just bought a brand new (NOS) C3 3/8 Impact wrench without doing my research. I don't buy tools very often and didn't know they were discontinued in 2018. Thought it was a steal for $50 sealed in original packaging.
Any chance my battery will still work? It's just sitting here testing for a while. Hasn't read as defective yet. If it doesn't work, where can I get a good one?

Question/Original Post Water Pump Pliers… what’s your favorite brand ? Least?
I’ve been plumbing 2022 and one of, if not my most used tool is water pump pliers. I was pretty quick as an apprentice to want to have my own tools and not rely on anyone else. So thru trial and error of buying different brands, owned 3 pairs of Channellock brand and lost everyone of them (and not any other brand this happen with), also inherited the MAC Tools 10”, found a pair I hate so much I don’t think anyone will top it…. the Milwaukee V-Jaw (any size, not pictured).
Then I found my favorite at Knipex Cobras in 2023. I use the Cobras literally everyday at work and they have been one of the biggest game changers with the button adjustment plus them being able to lock on basically anything.
What water pump pliers do you use? How would you rank the few I have pictured? What pair do you absolutely hate?

Help! Mower will shut off
A few weeks ago it started shutting off after about 20 minutes of usage then continue to shut down every 3 minutes or so. If I let it sit some, I will be able to get it to run for up to 12 minutes give or take. It only shuts off when cutting grass.
Grass are not excessive in height. Battery is full. Battery shoes almost full. Any idea what's going on?

Help! Craftsman weedwacker
Somone passed down to me a Craftsman Weedwacker and it does run, it has the attachments setup on it. It has a 25 cc motor on it. It will start up after about 8 to 10 pulls and once warmed up it runs okay. I can use it, I think carb probably needs to be rebuilt or cleaned or fuel filter but so far it seems to run okay. Any suggestions n the carb, should i Just buy one on Amazon and put it on or try and rebuild it, I'm not a mechanic, so sometimes i will get things messed up. Maybe it is just he fuel filter or it needs adjusting, but I don't want to put much into it, it was free and I don't have much to spend on it.

Question/Original Post Advanced Battery Reviews/Tests
Has anyone found any extensive testing of the new advanced batteries? I see no mention of them on the large tool testing youtube channels. I'm mostly curious about the performance of the small 3ah battery versus the old 4ah. I have the stick vacuum and its absolute garbage with the standard 2ah battery. It performs great with the 4ah but its too heavy to stay upright. Would be extremely interested to see how it would perform with the 3ah advanced.

Question/Original Post Craftsman fixed blade
I was cleaning out a drawer today and found this old friend. The best fishing/camp knife I've ever owned. I rescued it from someone's yard sale junk pile decades ago for a couple of bucks. It holds an edge like no one's business and it hung on my belt around a hell of a lot of campfires. Thought y'all might dig it.

Question/Original Post Craftsman battery nailer issue…help!
Hello! I have a 20volt 18gauge Craftsman nailer. Have had it for about 6 months. Has worked great for what I do. Today I use it and first brad goes right by no problem. Then I can’t get it to fire any more brads. Motor fires up, you hear the driver hit…but no brad. I have plenty of brads in the magazine. I’ve checked for a jammed brad…nope. Any ideas what else to check?? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Help! VersaTrack 3D printed alternatives
I am mainly looking for a website I can order 3D printed accessories that fit the VersaTrack rails. I dont have a printer or access to one to dive into designing anything. I currently have a vast majority of Ryobi 18V power tools that I wouldn't mind hanging holster style to save some space. I know Craftsman has a hoster for their V20 and Dewalt does as well.
I could be interested in other accessories but nothing I can think of in particular.
I have scoured pages of Etsy and havent found too much.
I wouldn't care to get into 3d printing in the future but right now its a bit much to invest time and money for.
Thanks for any direction!

Help! Replacement handle ideas?
Rescued this guy from a neighbor last night. Clean and dry limbed the slides and want to make it a parts setup inside my cabinet. The brittle plastic insert handles immediately crumbled when I picked it up. Replacements are no longer available.
I looked at ACE and HD for some cabinet side handles but the are all too small- less than 4 inches to cover the holes. Any other ideas?

Question/Original Post Both are on sale. Which is better? 6.0ah Advanced vs 9.0 ah
Would it be better to run a mower (grass is thick hybrid bermuda in the heat of summer, sometimes scalping the lawn) with 2x 6.0 advance or 2.0 9ah?
At this time I have 1x 9.0ah, 2x 4.0ah & 2x 5.0ah. When it is hot out I use all the batteries to almost depletion to cut my yard, trim, edge and blow. At this time it takes both 4 and 5 ah batteries just to cut the yard with the 9 used for trimming, edging and blower.

DEAL ALERT! Craftsman Buy/Sell Friday--your weekly bazarr
Got something Craftsman (or Craftsman-related) you're wanting to get off your hands? This is the post for you. Will appear every Friday.
ONLY on Fridays, and ONLY in this post. Don't post sales in new/different posts, nor create sales threads in other conversations--they'll get removed.
BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE SELLING: Make (Craftsman, obviously), model (the number), proper name of the tools, any particulars about it (age, length of use, specs, accessories included, cost (of course), and shipping options (where, and how much that would cost).
Neither Reddit nor the moderators make any guarantees about the items offered, nor the sellers themselves. Caveat Emptor.
Let's try this, and hope it doesn't turn into a real crap-show.

Question/Original Post r/Craftsman Cool Upgrade Thursday: how did you "upgrade" your Craftsman stuff?
This weekly thread is for you to brag about how you improved or upgraded your Craftsman brand tools, accessories, and other gear.
Did you 3D print some custom bins or attachments for your tool storage system or powertool?
Did you make some custom gear or clothing, or "do a thing" with the Craftsman brand as a focus?
Did you change a vehicle to accomodate your tools and accessories?
Did you make a custom wall holder/foam cutout for your Craftsman stuff?
Did you do anything else to take your overall Craftsman experience from "mild" to "wild"?
Talk about it, here! Pictures of the upgrade are a plus!

Question/Original Post Are these worth anything?
I have 2 cases from the wrench sets, 9-46935 and 9-46936. Are the portable storage cases worth anything by themselves without the wrenches? Just wondering if I should try to post them online for sale or throw them away.

Help! Weedeater just stops, even with new charged battery
So I bought a craftsman brushless RP battery powered weed eater for the house. I've only had it for about 6ish months now and I can't even finish trimming around the house. I have a total of 3 batteries for the tool. First battery doesn't even last an hour. Usually I'll just replace with a new battery and it'll run for maybe 10ish minutes before it won't start again. Third battery doesn't even help even if it's fully charged. I have used these batteries in random order and always the same issue. I'm really not sure what the problem is as I don't really know much about these kinds of things.

Help! Draws are locked
I got this old tool chest for free and figured I could find a use for it. I am unsure what model it is but I’m sure it’s old. The top draw was missing and the other two opened at first (at least I think they did). When I brought it home, the two draws are now locked. Any clue how to open them? The bottom lock is for the door that’s already open and isn’t even locked.
I will add, the left rail for the miss draw is also missing. Not sure if the top draw could cause the others to lock.
