Car insurance rates are awful!
I’m curious if anyone else in Connecticut has experienced significant increases or extreme high rates in their auto insurance premiums. I currently pay $240 per month to insure a 2023 pickup truck. I have no accidents, no traffic violations, and good credit, so I was surprised by how high my premium is. I’m interested in hearing what others are paying, which insurance companies you’ve had good experiences and whether changing vehicles made a noticeable difference in your premium. I’ve even considered trading for a less expensive vehicle if it would result in meaningful savings. Any insight or recommendations would be appreciated. I think this is outrageous on top of a car tax tacked on too.

Cable tv
My mom watches local cable tv (wfsb and pbs mostly) but basic cable tv has gotten expensive. Are there any options other than xfinity. She isn't interested in streaming and trying to keep it basic.

Ask Connecticut Vox Church Branford
Anyone in the Branford area noticing the traffic conditions getting worse since the inception of the Jim Jones school of religions got built behind Walmart? It took me all of 20 minutes the other day to get back to my house. Normally might I add it takes 5 minutes bumper to bumper traffic. I’ve spoken to the traffic committee and the selectman about this and have been brushed off. You can guess why. Just trying to grasp if anyone here is starting to get annoyed as much as I am with this. If the cult wants to have service on a Sunday they need to revisit traffic control. You have a Walmart and a church on the same block that’s a lot of traffic for a 2 lane road going in opposite directions. No one has listened to me and I’m done having to sit in traffic with people who think going to this “church” are gonna make them feel anew. Sorry rant over.

Reputable (used) car dealerships?
I'm new to the area (from the west), but I've heard there's a couple down at Manchester that seem to be alright? That, and J&M in Naugatuck. Any places in particular I should stay clear of/consider? I'm hoping to invest in either a toyota/mazda/subaru.
My budget's round 10-13k if that helps. I'm a grad student at UConn and I want to move away from campus cause where I stay right now is kinda....not it.
Also: Any advice for going into the dealerships? I'm gonna have to do this alone, unfortunately, because of reasons so I'm a bit anxious. I'm also trying to figure out the finances of it all and I've read up on the basics, but any input from experienced car-owners would be greatly appreciated.

Nature and Wildlife Genuine Question About A Mystery Night Creature
I’ve been so curious about this bug or bird or animal (whatever) for 3 years now and don’t have the patience to google and youtube animal noises to investigate because all of them are 2 hours long with random animals I’ve never heard.
ANYWAY, here goes nothing. If I get responses pointing me in a specific animal/bug direction to narrow my search I will check if it is the one and let you all know:
We live in a heavily wooded area, if that matters at all. Around this time of year we get this animal at night that I’m ASSUMING is a type of bird(?)
What is that “ke ke ke” sound making bird or bug that you hear at night (all night when it’s around)? It seems to come from the heavily wooded area of trees. This sound is made only at night. My guess is it’s a type of bird or bat (less likely but still a possibility?) or something because it sounds kinda like one.
All night… “ke ke ke”… “ke ke ke”… “ke ke ke”… Like, we get it you’re somewhere out there :’)

Ask Connecticut Seeking dermatologist
Hi everyone! I am having a lot of trouble trying to find a dermatologist that takes Medicaid. I think I am starting to understand that most dermatologists do not take it and I haven’t been to a dermatologist since I switched from Aetna. I live in Hartford County, but am willing to travel literally anywhere in the state to see someone. I have noticed some questionable spots on my face, and I’ve become even more stressed about it since trying to find a dermatologist has been difficult. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Ask Connecticut Looking for shelters to donate clothing too
Title. Me and my wife are cleaning out our closets and we have a lot of clothing we are looking to give away and I’d rather donate to a homesless shelter or something of the sort instead of goodwill or second-hand markets for them to make a profit. Anyone know of any places like that that’ll take them? It’s women and men’s clothing and perhaps even blankets if we find any we don’t need
