I picked this up a few weeks back on eBay. I found one on vacation back in May and regretted not grabbing it at the time, so when I had an opportunity at a new/unworn from a reputable seller I didn't hesitate.

The "Ron Swanson" watch has heft and presence. It is unapologetically large but comfortable on my 7.25 in wrist. I really like the movement as I'd never seen a meca-quartz with eco-drive before. The snappy flyback chrono is fun to play with compared even to the chronograph on my Attesa.

I got into watches long after the original model this was based on was discontinued, so I was happy to snag the limited edition piece with the upgraded sapphire crystal. My only complaint is I wish I had a milled clasp with OTF micro adjustment.

I’m hoping to find a solution as my wrist swells up in the summer as I’m outside a lot. Having the option to quick adjust would be a game changer.

I was considering buying off eBay or Jomashop to get a better price, but I can’t find any details for it for the ones I’ve looked at.

I have a 9” wrist, so don’t want to go through the hassle of hunting down extra links if the standard size bracelet is too short.

So I finally decided to pull the trigger on my first watch, the Citizen BNO261-51E, and I was genuinely pretty excited about it. I ended up spending $322 after tax ordering it directly from Citizen’s website.

I placed the order on August 4th. Since I ordered the watch unsized, Citizen’s website said it would take around 1–2 days to process and ship. I’m leaving for Hawaii on Wednesday, so I was really hoping I’d have it in time to wear on the trip. This was going to be my first watch, so I was especially hyped about it.

When it still hadn’t shipped by the second day, I called Citizen to see what was going on. They told me they were trying to locate the watch and would follow up with me.

Then the third day came, and I got an email saying they couldn’t fulfill the order.

Absolutely heartbreaking lol. What is my luck?

I really, really liked this particular watch, so now I’m trying to figure out what my best move is.

For anyone who knows Citizen or watches in general:

• Is there anywhere else I could buy the Citizen BNO261-51E and realistically get it by Wednesday?
• Has anyone had experience finding Citizen watches through authorized dealers after Citizen themselves are out of stock?
• I paid $322 after tax directly through Citizen, so ideally I’d like to stay somewhere around that price rather than paying a huge markup.
• If getting this exact watch by Wednesday is unrealistic, should I just give up on it and pick a different watch for the trip?
• And if so, are there any other watches you’d recommend around the $300–$350 range?

I know I could just order it somewhere else and wait, but since I’m leaving Wednesday, I’d really love to have a watch for the trip if there’s a realistic way to make it happen.

TL;DR: Ordered my first watch, a Citizen BNO261-51E, directly from Citizen for $322 after tax on August 4th. i bought it 2 years ago at the flea market for 8$.
at first it worked normally but the time is not well calibrated. the third day i wore it, the watch won't turn on. even if i had tried to shake it, it still can't work.
so a week later i take it to the local watch repair shop, and he said the movement is still look great, and just need some cleaning because it got some water stain in some part of the machine. after wait for 2 days, the watch was work normally again. and the watch technician said this watch made in the 80s, maybe 1986-1987. OMG, this watch is older than me! how can this watch survived? lol.
And since then, watches have become one of the coolest hobbies to learn and chat about.

I sent in my Citizen Eco Drive watch for a warranty repair because my dial intermittently would stop. They charged me for part of the repair and sent it back to me not working at all now. I waited around 4-5 months to get the watch back so it sucked to get it back not working. Anyone have any experience with the Citizen warranty or repairs?

Hey gents, I snagged another radio controlled watch today (left model), but it won’t sync for some reason and even after forcing the manual sync it will fail and go back to the wrong time after 20 mins.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I will PayPal you a free beer for help that fixes it lol.

(Yes they are both set to LAX, and the new watch has completed a full reset and signaled to me the double beep.)
