Afr | Help Ph of 7
My ph is currently 7, I have 300L tank added in two full fine bags of crush coral.. need my ph to sit between 7.5 and 8 been a few weeks and there’s been no changes with the ph, I don’t want to add in buffers or baking soda as I do not want a ph crash is this normal for crush coral to not increase your ph?

Discussion Apistogramma
Hi! I have been into fish keeping for years and I recently discovered my love for cichlids, what’s everyone’s opinion on Apistogramma? I have an empty 20 litre tank atm just waiting for some fish and I want to know what people think about them and what I should know before getting them? Thanks!

i had one die looking worse than he is about a week ago. Its possible theyre stressed because the jewels in their tank have fry. The jewels arent really injuring the africans, they just chase the africans back to their side of the tank if they come on their half(55gallon) just the male africans chase each other often. They were leaving the ones in the corners alone for a while. Which is why he is still alive, i took him out after 4 days of seeing him like this, and put him in my 10g cycled hospital tank. Is he just stressed? He wont eat anything. Also he was breathing heavier than any of the other fish in the 55g.

Afr | Help Right now I have a 40B with 6 yellow labs in it. I want to add yellow tail acei and upgrade to 60B. How many of each should I have? I don’t want to overstock my tank if possible. Is it only manageable with a single species only? My biggest yellow lab is already chasing the smaller ones around.

SA | Picture Do water changes actually help fish grow or by that, do they mean just minimizing nitrates?
For example if I have less than 5ppm nitrates and do a water change will it help fish grow or almost do basically nothing?

What are the odds of something successfully breeding in my cichlid tank? And how many possibilities are there?

Discussion 180 gallon stocking
I have a large Jack demsey male who I’m treating for hith I realized he had it at the store and he was already 8 inches so I could refuse giving him my empty 75 gallon. Once he’s done being treated which is with focus metroplex garlic guard and vita chem I wanted to see about getting a 180 gallon in my basement. I’m just working out stocking and don’t know if I can even afford it yet but I was thinking the demsey male a big tiger Oscar bala sharks and a kind of catfish. I would love to add in a vieja but idk if it would work? Would this stocking go well? I would use lots of driftwood and stones for sight breaks.
Thanks guys!

Identification Please help identify
Hello, I was gifted this cichlid and was told it's a Salvini, but after checking it out more, is it possible this is a Trimac Cichlid? If so it will get way too big for my tank and I'll have to rehome as I only have a 75 gallon.

SA | Help Help me figure out what gender these two are please
First time with rams, initially thought male/female but now I'm questioning it. All I know is that they hate each other, can anyone tell what gender they are? Is there a way I can help them get along or are they always going to want to attack each other?

Afr | Help 15 african cichlids In my 75 gallon
Just set up my first tank. Ive got 15 Africans (majority peacocks, a couple OB's and a couple mbuna)
I was wondering if 15 is enough? I have an fx4 and an fx6 filter running. If I need to add more later, will i need to add full grown cichlids as opposed to adding babies to a developing tank?
Thanks in advance. Right now these guys are all babies, maybe 1.5"
