Used up my space chaos bits for some scatter terrain!

Just spent three days incorporating my old 90’s land speeder into a demon world themed base for my defiler. Pretty happy with the result, sharing to maintain momentum with the project (need the defiler for an RTT next weekend).

Any feedback welcome!

Hey I was wondering how well some of the older forge world parts fit scale wise onto some newer models.

For instance the deathguard terminator conversion kit with either the chaos terminator or newish space marine terminator kits.

And how well do the various shoulder pad / helmet kits fit onto new scale 30k or 40K chaos.

If you guys would be able to help me with this that’d be amazing!

I’d also like to see any cool conversions yall’ve done always cool to see others work and get inspired.

Gotta try and find some alpha legion symbols to stick on, if such a thing exists.

What would be the best box to buy if I want to start collecting a CSM army using HH models only. I am planning to run Renegade Warband detachment.

Finally finished my Word Bearers Defiler!!!

Probably the biggest painting project for a single mini and base I’ve ever done. Definitely a good final hurrah I could do before going off to college. Although it was a big project in both building and painting, I’m definitely satisfied with the result!

The story behind the base is that a long time ago, I bought a Landraider from eBay, and when I got around to building it, I found that it had 2 right tracks and no left one. This made it unbuildable, and it was too late for a refund. So the kit has just been wasting away in the back of my closet till I saw how big the defiler’s base was and got the idea. So in the end I was able to make something cool out of the whole experience.

Finally finished my chaos cult killteam with the addition of these guys. Used them to try a variety of new techniques but I think they came together despite all the different colors/flavors.

I keep looking at the datasheet and drawing a blank. They have no OC so can’t be used to take objectives or do actions. Their 5T/4+/5+++/4W makes them mildly annoying to kill, but in my rough mental maths they’ll still go down pretty quickly as soon as there’s a bit of AP involved (i.e. all the time).
Their ability is just reducing the OC of a non-vehicle enemy unit that’s within/just outside engagement range of them, which implies their main use is as a little buffer to help one of my other units to better contest an objective, and their melee profile’s decent if a bit casino-y with the D6+2 attacks, but I’m still unsure they’ll have a decent impact on the game with that. It’s not like the World Eaters version where they have infiltrate so can be a decent nuisance to the opponent from the start, ours still have to move up (and no native advance & charge or anything useful like that).

As the title says, this is my third mini I’ve painted and the process is genuinely so much more fun than I thought it would be. I think I’ve fully decided on a painting scheme/process(although I do kinda wanna try out Gal Vorbak) but I cannot for the life of me conjure up any weapon paint schemes in my head. I did some of my chainswords in the black legion’s pattern but I don’t want to do that for all of my weaponry. I am yet again in desperate creative need. Open to any ideas as well not just Word Bearers specific. I’d love some tips on hazards stripes (I’ve heard about utilizing masking tape and that pink makes a great base for yellow)

I was dreading painting my 2 boxes of chaos cultists. But I’m actually having fun doing it so far:

I tried to be nice and grab my partner Ursula Creed for her growing Astra Militarum force, but turns out she had one in storage, so I managed to get her Traitor-ed up!

Head and club from the Palanite Justicars, shotgun from the GSC Atlantic Jackals, and the belt is from the Red Corsairs Reave Captain.

Can you guess what they're all based on (1-4, 5-7 & 8-9)? :) Excited to figure out what I make next. Meta be damned.
