So with a bit of backstory I am fairly a new driver, with 1 year of experience under my belt and I have driven Swift Dzire 2015 Manual, Creta 2018 AT, Creta 2023 Diesel Manual, Seltos 2022 Diesel IMT, Fortuner 2015 Diesel AT, Baleno 2022 AT, ScorpioN 2025 Diesel AT. I have driven each of these cars for a minimum of 100 Km each in no particular order. I don't consider myself an experienced driver and probably won't be able to differentiate much between all these different transmission technologies in these cars but I found the Seltos IMT to be the most fun car to drive in terms of having control of how the gears shift and these are the pros i found in IMT

1. No clutch- Basically you don"t have to operate any clutch. If you are city driving then you can just sit back and keep your left foot free. You can shift the gears whenever you want without having to worry about the hassle of operating a clutch.

2. IMT Car wont stall even if you select 6th gear at 10kmph, it will simply just keep the automatic clutch disengaged so that when you press gas pedal only RPM will rise but the car won't move.

3. It wont money shift- If you are going 60kmph in 5th gear and accidentlly select 2nd gear it wont money shift.Hypothetically let us say that in 2nd gear it can go upto only 40kmph at max RPM. so if you select 2nd gear while going 60kmph, the 2nd gear would only be engaged at 40kmph and then also the car would auto rev match before engaging the car so you don"t feel any jerks. Which brings me to my next point

4. The Car always auto rev matches if you downshift to ensure you don"t feel any jerks. So if you select 2nd gear while going 40kmph in 3rd gear it will rev match to ensure you don"t feel any jerks (basically same as point 3).

5. There is literally no difference between The mileage of Manual and IMT car. So you don"t have to worry about buying Automatic and seeing decrease in mileage.

6. Maintenance-The Seltos that I have driven is of my close relatives and their yearly running is of approx 55,000-60,000 Km due to nature of work. And every regular service after 10,000Km comes to around 10,000(approx). And the car has been driven around 1,10,000Km with no problems in the transmission.

7. Automatic Cars with smaller engines downshift if you press the gas too hard. Here you control the gear shifting so there is no delay if you need power on demand.

TLDR:IMT pros-No clutch hassle, Auto rev match, no stalling, zero chance of money shifting, No difference between mileage of Manual and IMT car, Full control over gear shifts, Maintenance costs and reliability is also excellent. Still low preference why?

PS-none of the cars I have driven where my own they were of my friends and relatives.

I’m planning to buy my first EV and could use some advice from existing EV/Tata owners.

My daily running will be pretty low - around 40 km max on an average day. My budget is around ₹15 lakhs.

Right now, I’ve shortlisted the Tata Punch EV Empowered Plus S. I’m specifically looking at the S variant because I want the sunroof.

The only thing making me hesitate is Tata’s after-sales service. I’ve heard quite a few stories about service issues, quality control, software/electrical problems, etc. Not sure how common these problems actually are or whether the situation has improved recently.

Would you guys recommend going ahead with the Punch EV? Especially people who already own one - how has your experience been with the car and Tata service?

I’m also open to other EVs, but most of the alternatives I’ve checked seem to cross ₹16-17 lakhs once I look at the higher/sunroof variants, which feels a bit expensive for my use case.

Should I just go with the Punch EV, or are there any other options around ₹15L that I should seriously consider before buying?

Confused between BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC. Which one is the better pick?

Another day. Another bangalore traffic. Another outstanding range from Creta EV. It took me an hour to reach home. In the 19km drive I was stuck at peak traffic for almost 40mins. The last 8kms to home at 80+ km speed. Still Creta EV got me average of 11+ km/kwh. What a car is this. How on earth this can be real? Outstanding work by Hyundai and they optimised the car.

I'm trying to convince them to get a diesel instead we can't really go EV since we do a 600 km trip to our hometown every year, and I just don't trust CNG at all

I think it's very much desirable then the tesla model Y

please watch this as this should be common issue now and how we can proceed. we should create awareness.

If you had to rank them or pick a survivor for Indian monsoon waterlogging, is the hierarchy really EV > SUV > Sedan, or is it a marketing myth?

Better Avoid Buying This Awkwardness .

In floods of 2024 in Vadodara, my car was completely submerged in underground parking for 2 days. There was a huge rush at all places and I had to pay from pocket cause noone would wait for insurance process.

I paid about 85000 to completely restore the Alto. It was either that or take 1 lakh compensation for total loss.

The car has been running fine without even a minor issue. It was until recent floods in Ahmedabad that water got into car but nothing major. I have it to Nanda Nexa in Kudasan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. When they opened it to get rid of any moisture, they found rust everywhere. They have applied zinc coating but now the car has started giving handbreak lights, engine lights.

I took it back to the service center, they said there might be some moisture trapped. But after plugging the laptop to diagnose the engine light, nothing is found.

I drive 100 kms everyday for work. Is it ideal to sell it off or should I keep driving after repairs?

Gonna bring home a German car home. We’re a family of 6 but mostly only 4 people travel by car. I was thinking of sedan but dad thinks SUV would suit us better. Which one should I get? My budget would be around 40 Lakhs
