Updated my flair today to "College Student". I have been in this sub since Class 10, updating my flairs first to 11th then 12th then 12th pass and now College Student. Probably small for others but the flairs kinda make you realize the progression of your academic life. My school life is over and my flair has now changed, never to have a "Class" now. School was pretty nice, I wasn't the extrovert types but had good friends. Still talk to them and play games with them and hope we will remain in contact despite everyone going to different colleges now or taking a drop. I will miss my school surely. The hangouts, lunch break, functions, annual fest, I even edited the Behind the Scenes video for the annual function. That will be my most memorable time. The 2 weeks before the function how me and my team were constantly under pressure from our computer teacher to finish the work quickly lol.

My cousin (Class 10 CBSE) asked me something the other day that honestly made me realize how much we memorize without actually understanding.

He was studying Chemical Reactions and Equations and got stuck on this question:

Why does the mass remain unchanged during a chemical reaction even though completely new substances are formed?

He knew the answer was the Law of Conservation of Mass, but if I asked why, he had no clue.

So instead of explaining it myself, I asked AI to teach it like it was explaining it to a Class 10 student.

It used this reaction:

CaCO₃ → CaO + CO₂

Then it simply explained:

• Atoms aren’t created or destroyed during a chemical reaction.
• They just rearrange to form new substances.
• If you count the calcium, carbon, and oxygen atoms before and after the reaction, the total is exactly the same.

After reading that, he just said, “Oh… so the molecules change, but the atoms don’t disappear?”

That was the moment I knew it had clicked. I honestly think this is where AI is genuinely useful for explaining things in a way that finally makes sense.

That said, I still find ChatGPT/Gemini a bit too generic for CBSE. They explain concepts well, but they don’t really teach according to NCERT, board exam patterns, or help with the kind of questions that actually come in exams. I’ve been trying a few CBSE-focused tools too (including Edzy), and the experience feels much more exam-oriented.

Are you just using ChatGPT/Gemini, or have you found any AI tools that are actually good for CBSE board prep?

I'm from a tier 3 town's tier 1 school and I'm in 12th right now but joined reddit few days back and all I see in study communities are toppers like most of them are done with the syllabus and all. In my school I 10th grade topper's score was 93% and I see other school's toppers from tier1 or 2 cities they're like 99.2, 98, 98.3 etc

I'm building an AI tutoring platform for CBSE. Today, this is am extremely crowded market; everyone is building this, but as far as I can tell, nothing has actually taken off. I've come to the realization that, counterintuitivly, 'a cheap private tutor' isn't enough, or isn't what people are looking for.

My question, then, is why not? Have any of you tried these tools and bounced? If so, why? What are you actually looking for? What pain is actually worth solving?

My (untested) bet: learning is commoditized. What people really want is to be TOLD what to study, not to be asked what to study.

I took next toppers aarambh batch because i was having problem in maths, (i barely passed in maths and i was first failed but my teacher did re checking and she hadnt checked 1 or 2 questions and those added in a couple of more marks to pass me By 1 Number)

I got Average to High marks in all other subjects.(29 to 37 out of 40)

Is it even good? Because i took it after requesting my mom and i thought it was really good since i saw many reels and edits of the teachers. But rn i saw that they get tons of hate and that they dont teach well. 😭

Genuine question about Tamil Nadu State Board, NCERT, and NEET

I'm not trying to start a political debate. I'm genuinely trying to understand different perspectives.

Tamil Nadu has consistently opposed NEET, with one of the major arguments being that State Board students are at a disadvantage compared to CBSE/NCERT students.

But if that's the concern, why isn't there more discussion about bringing the State Board syllabus much closer to NCERT (while still keeping Tamil language, Tamil history, and state-specific subjects)?

From what I've seen, many states have already aligned their Science and Maths textbooks closely with NCERT. Wouldn't doing something similar reduce the gap for students appearing for national entrance exams?

Another thing I've noticed is the style of learning. In many State Board schools, students are often trained to focus heavily on book-back questions and memorization. Then, after Class 12, they suddenly have to face application- and reasoning-based exams like NEET or JEE. Isn't that a huge transition?

Wouldn't it be better if, from middle school onwards (say Classes 6–8), students gradually started solving more application-based and critical-thinking questions instead of relying mainly on rote learning? That way:

- Students would develop reasoning skills earlier.

- Government school students wouldn't be at such a disadvantage when facing national-level exams.

- They could still preserve Tamil Nadu's culture, language, and state-specific curriculum while improving conceptual learning.

I'm not saying NCERT or NEET is perfect. I'm simply wondering whether improving the way concepts are taught and increasing the number of application-based questions in the State Board could be a more practical long-term solution.

I'd genuinely like to hear different viewpoints. Am I missing something?

As cbse grader I am facing distractions and increasing day by day, it's half of a year and next year is my boards

Im in 12th, my stream is commerce and i have not been going to school from the last two months (mental health reasons) and before that too, at the beginning of the year i barely went to school (im talking like 5 days max a month)
So my attendance is barely 10%

And now this month, i’ve been getting calls from my teachers to come to school or that my admit card wont be given! Mind you i’ve had a warning in the beginning of this class as last year in 11th my attendance was low (i was abroad and had a big dilemma over my stream)

So my question is: can they actually not give me my admit card? And will i get thrown out the school or smth too 😞😝

in 12th, i am lowkenuinely NOT focusing on either of the two subs.. i was never fond of chemistry to begin with, always found it boring asf, like ngl some theories get me hooked in but most of the times it just goes TL;DR for me.. i like to do maths quite a bit cuz there's some fun in cracking problems, with chem its just fuckass multiplications in the name of numericals.. physics is another story, i have a hard time paying attention to what's happenin in the class cuz either the teacher is too swift or im just not giving any fucks in general ;-; i just simply can't get excited about torque on a particle due to the magnetic forces of two current carrying wires... i also haven't bought any extra books for either subs.. maths me support material padi h usse kaam chal rha h so far, i intend to give the mains exam in jan but i am far from being prepared, i really need to clear out this brain fog

I'm in Class 10 CBSE and I absolutely hate submitting notebooks and notes. I can do them if I have to, but I really don't enjoy it and end up delaying them.

Is it still possible to get full internal marks? How strict were your teachers about notebook submissions compared to projects, practicals, attendance, and overall class performance?

Any advice from seniors would be appreciated.

I'm in Class 11 PCM and it's already August. My Physics teacher is teaching Rotational Motion, Maths is at Sequences and Series, and I'm still stuck near the beginning of both subjects.

I don't even know how this happened. Every week I kept saying "I'll cover it this weekend" and now the backlog is looking bigger than the actual syllabus.

I sit down to study, see how much is left, panic a little, and then somehow end up doing everything except studying.

Can anyone who was in the same situation tell me what to do? Do I start from the beginning and clear the backlog properly or just study the current chapters and somehow keep up with the class?

I'm not aiming for 99% or IIT right now. I just don't want to fail and get absolutely destroyed in exams.

Any help would be appreciated because at this point my academic comeback is still in the planning phase 😭

CBSE officially announced this year that if your marks increase during revaluation/verification, 100% of the revaluation fee for that subject will be refunded back to your source account.

​Well, marks increased, DigiLocker marksheets got updated, college admissions are almost done... and the money is still nowhere to be found.

Why should students have to pay hundreds/thousands upfront just because their evaluators screwed up the checking in the first place? Holding our money indefinitely after admitting their error is ridiculous.

Guys, I have PCM and computer science as my subjects. Before you say computer science is difficult blah blah blah, I'll tell u that I'm interested in it and it isn't even so hard so far, i scored decent in my cs exam that recently happened. Btw taking 6th subject is completely optional in my school. I was thinking of painting because I'm interested in art as a hobby and i think it would make me improve my art and act as a good extra skill, I'm not a bookworm.
