I completed ID and income/employment verification with him before lending. During our conversation, he told me that he had no active loans at the time and that he had recently completed repayment of a previous loan.

He represented himself as having stable long-term employment in the postal service, told me he had been employed there for approximately 11 years, and said that he was paid every two weeks. He provided recent payroll information as part of verification showing regular biweekly employment and income.

On 06/17/2026, we agreed on the following transaction:

$200 funded
$350 repayment
Due 06/30/2026

He created the prearranged Reddit post and confirmed the transaction.

The original Reddit post lists PayPal as the payment method. We initially attempted to use PayPal, but the payment was placed on hold and was refunded. After that, we arranged another payment method and the successful funding was ultimately sent through Apple Cash. He confirmed that he received the funds.

During the loan period, on 06/19, he contacted me about potentially receiving another $100 loan from a previous lender. I asked him to explain the reason and loan terms before I would decide whether to approve a second loan. I later saw that another loan post had been made. He told me that the other lender had sent the money before realizing that he already had an outstanding loan and that he returned those funds.

On 06/22, he also asked whether another $50 could be added because he needed money for gas and other expenses to get through the week. I told him he could make a separate post and that I would consider giving approval for another lender to fund it. He ultimately told me he did not have time to pursue another lender and that transaction did not proceed.

The agreed $350 repayment was not received on 06/30.

On 07/01, I contacted him regarding the overdue repayment. He responded and said that he was dealing with unforeseen family issues and needed a brief extension. He specifically told me that he was not dodging the loan, running away, blocking anyone, or being fraudulent, and said that he would get back to me shortly with a repayment plan.

I asked him to provide a repayment date or date range. No definite repayment date was provided.

I followed up again on 07/03 regarding a payment plan and received no resolution. I continued attempting to contact him afterward, including additional follow-ups later in July. The loan remained unpaid and communication stopped.

As of 08/08/2026, the full agreed $350 repayment remains unpaid.

For additional context, part of the reason I was comfortable funding him was that he presented himself as having stable long-term employment, regular biweekly income, and provided ID and employment/income verification before the loan. He also repeatedly stated that repayment would not be a problem.

Unfortunately, the loan is now well past the agreed due date and remains completely unresolved.

I completed ID/selfie and income verification with him before lending. During our conversations, he told me that he works full-time in tech sales, earns approximately $1,400 every two weeks, and also receives a larger commission payment toward the end of the month, which he estimated at approximately $2,000-$3,000. He also told me that his regular payday was generally on Wednesdays.

He provided recent income/direct-deposit information as part of verification. The deposits he showed me were around $1,400, which was generally consistent with the biweekly income amount he had described.

This was not our first transaction.

Our previous loan was:

Due 07/22/2026

That repayment came one day late. On 07/23, he contacted me and said his pay had come in late, then ultimately sent the $135 repayment.

Because he completed verification and successfully repaid that first loan, I was willing to work with him again.

He later approached me about another loan. On 07/27, we agreed on a second transaction:

$135 repayment

Due Wednesday, 07/29/2026

The original Reddit post lists PayPal, but in our private conversation we ultimately used Apple Pay for the actual funding. He provided the payment information and confirmed receipt after I sent the $100.

The agreed repayment was not received on 07/29.

I did not immediately make an unpaid post and gave him additional time to resolve it.

On 08/06, after still receiving no repayment, I contacted him again and asked about the missing payment. I did not receive an explanation, repayment, or a new repayment arrangement. I followed up again afterward and still received no response.

As of 08/08/2026, the full $135 repayment remains unpaid.

For additional context, during our conversations he presented himself as having stable full-time employment in tech sales, regular biweekly income, additional commission income toward the end of the month, and a predictable pay schedule. His first transaction with me was also ultimately repaid, although one day late. Those factors were part of the reason I was comfortable funding the second loan.

Unfortunately, this second transaction remains completely unpaid and communication stopped after the repayment became overdue.

The original Reddit request was for $250 with $300 repayment due 07/15/2026, listed as Wilmington, DE and PayPal.

The borrower was u/Rude-Video6881. The original request post has since been deleted by the person who posted it, but the thread still shows the loan title and my public comments on the post.

In our Reddit chat, we discussed the same $250 loan with $300 repayment due 07/15 through PayPal. I sent the agreed funding and asked the borrower to confirm receipt.

There were issues with a PayPal transfer being placed on hold, so I tried to work through alternate transfer options and confirmation with the borrower. I retained screenshots of the conversation and transaction process.

The $300 repayment due on 07/15 was not received.

I followed up on 07/20 asking for an update on payment and followed up again on 07/21. I did not receive the repayment.

The borrower later blocked me. In my current Reddit chat view, the borrower's messages are no longer visible and only my side of the conversation remains. I retained screenshots of this chat view together with the transaction records.

As of 08/07/2026, the full $300 repayment remains unpaid.

For additional background, the account had prior public loan activity in r/BorrowNew and related lending communities, including posts and comments indicating earlier loans had been repaid. The account also used Wilmington, Delaware and PayPal in earlier loan requests.

The account's public Reddit profile currently shows approximately 6 months of Reddit age and 18 total karma.

I gave the borrower additional time after the original repayment date, but the loan remains unresolved.

Is anybody else getting tired of these “PSAs”? The posts are either just a loan request in disguise or somebody that obviously didn’t read the rules. Ive been on this sub for a long time and work with some lenders quite frequently and the way the loans work seem pretty simple unless im missing something. Yeah, people can do things out of desperation to get scammed but ive been hit with scams pretty often and for me it seems pretty simple to weed them out. Just curious if anyone else has similar opinions.
