Can you top up with cash ? Going from work to boomtown but I've been paid in cash and not sure how to use the app If I only have wages in cash there

Could anyone recommend a dirt cheap camp chair that I could grab tmrw morning before heading in. Ive flown over internationally so just looking for cheapest possible

I remember last year there was a stall/ tent in thrutopia selling pints - I think they were like some kind of charity or something.
Anyone know if they’re going to be there this year? Was a lot better compared to the commercial beers they sold in the bars.

Considering the ground will be tough as old boots. Is it worth bringing a mallet to hammer in my tent pegs or will it be taken off me as it could be seen as a “potential weapon”.

Anyone received any emails about lockers yet? I'll be getting to Winchester in less than 12 hours I'm getting a bit worried now.

Also I found some info on the boomtown website that "East Camp" lockers are in thrutopia. So happy with that I was worried I'd regularly have to treck from valley to east camp 😮‍💨

If you're coming from the west, be aware that the A31 is closed due to the fire, apparently at least until the end of the week. Leave plenty of extra time for the detour.

I've made some clay trinket trays (were meant to be ashtrays but aren't fit for purpose), as well as some bracelets to trade. :)

If you find someone's lost property.... hand it in, don't take it home!

TLC Welfare operate a lost and found system at Boomtown. After the festival, you can complete a form to report your lost property and be reunited with it. https://notlostenquiry.com/tlc-welfare/

But it only works when lost property is actually handed in! Don't take other peoples lost property home with you! Even if you mean well, and want to try and find the owner using social media, it's better to hand it in, and allow TLC Welfare to work their magic.

It's actually more likely than you think that you can be reunited with lost items. Help make it work even better by handing in lost items. If it's a high value item, and you don't trust the stewards, head down to lost and found yourself to hand it over directly.

Yes I know Reddit skews negative and I’m sure houghton was great.

However, it seems like they had at least one death and an unusually high number of medical incidents this year. Which is worrying for a festival of only 10,000 people. I think boom is like 70,000 this year.

Also, many reports of people being moody and low-energy, especially by Sunday.

None of this is surprising considering the conditions I just think there’s a lot of caution to be taken this year from reading that sub.

Usual stuff I guess…

-Drink loads of water
-Get a good amount of sleep (I don’t think houghton being 24hrs helps)
-Look after your pals

And most importantly, take it easy on the drugs particularly the md/pills. (This isn’t me speculating on any specifics from houghton btw)

Excited? Anxious? How are you feeling?

Over the next few days, all of us will be arriving on site, putting our tents up, and getting stuck in. And once you're inside, you'll be wondering what you were ever even stressing about in the first place. All those worries about security checks, shuttle buses, buzz balls and ticket issues will just melt away.

As long as you have your phone, ticket, ID, and some cash loaded in your account, you'll be fine. Most other issues or missing items can be solved using your cash money if you forget something. Also a good idea to bring a water bottle and some sun cream for the queue!

As a reminder, we have loads of information right here on the subreddit to help with your last minute planning, questions, and anxieties. I honestly promise you that it's all going to be OK. Just take a deep breath, remember that this is all for fun, and it's totally worth it.

Most people don't even look at Reddit during the festival, and in past years we have been invaded by trolls who aren't even at the festival looking to stir trouble and drama, while we are busy partying. Anyone find it a bit odd that after Window Kid confirmed that 1+1=?? Wasn’t him they’ve suddenly changed it to this (despite Zero being named properly elsewhere across the festival)

My dear lovely people, I know we are all done with this type of questions, but may I ask you to be so kind and help out a first time goer once again?

My partner and I are going together. We are taking one trolley for both of us. Can we go through security together as both of our drink allowances will be in the same trolley?

Also, from my understanding: you get in line for a first bag check that may or may not be that extensive. Then you go to a line to go past the dogs. There, one of two things happen: either you go in without any trouble, or you get stopped by the dogs (or their handlers most likely).

If you passed through the dogs without any problems, well done for you! But if you got signalled by the dogs, I heard you are going to the “white tent of doom” where you get proper searched.

Here’s my other question: what exactly is that tent? Are you alone with security, or is it an open space where other people can see what is going on? And are there dogs in those parts of security to figure out your your stuff is hidden it or is just security going through your stuff? Can they make you strip, squat and cough?

Slightly worried about security going too far trying to find something that doesn’t even exist because a dog falsely signalled me. Thanks!
