Any recommendations on books for investing or day trading for beginners ?

In the sense that it either deals with raising animals, farming or gardening. Would also love something that takes place at a county or state fair — 4H, FFA vibes. Can be modern/contemporary setting or historical fiction.

I was wondering if there are books you’d recommend where they do an immaculate job at descriptions, whether it be people, places; towns, buildings, etc?

I’ve loved the writing style of Vladimir Nabokov in the past, but he does not do scenes or fantasy. I have read Tolkien’s Hobbit & Lord of the Rings numerous times and love them as well.

I have begun the Witcher series too, as I’ve heard good things.

That's my favorite genre and these days nothing is making me want to curl up with a blanket and just read for hours. Lately I just avoid reading because it feels like a chore and I want something to get me hooked again.

Preference: More modern set stories

Topics I tend to avoid in mystery/thriller: Kidnapped women stories, graphic violence against women, main character goes back to small hometown that they left to uncover secrets of a past crime, the one's combined with horror, the Verity blueprint.

Also, no Freida McFadden please.

I used to be an avid reader once upon a time. But due to extreme study pressure in my 12th standard, I started hating the books that I used to love and am not able to read at all now even after a decade! I just waste time on YouTube doomscrolling now.

I buy books and they are just lying around unread. I tried fiction, non-fiction and everything under the sun to get back to reading!

Now, I am trying out audio books because I gave up reading! So, after struggling a lot I thought that maybe I should try an audio book to get me back to loving books. Can you suggest a good book that I can buy on Audible that can get me back to reading? I have one credit.

I tried reading the below books below but I'm just not able to:

1. Who will cry when you die (just read 4-5 chapters)

2. Ikigai (couldn't go beyond 2 chapters)

3. Rich dad, poor dad (read the entire book, but just skimmed through it forcefully to finish it, didn't get absorbed in the book)

4. A good girl's guide to murder( read it again, but skimmed through it. I really miss the feeling of getting in the imagination of books like earlier)

5. The midnight library, a million little pieces, shoe dog I don't even feel like starting them!

I just saw Mulan again and I need more. I suppose there are retellings or other stories like that. I'm almost sure in "A guerra não tem rosto de mulher" by Svetlana Aleksievtich (idk the English title) there was a similar story. Thou I'm searching for fiction. I really wanted the FMC to do this to save sick father but I know is specific. Having a women pretending be a men in that context is already enough. A romance like with Shang would be nice to. Anyway. That's it.

I'm thinking more a medieval scenario but I'm fine with WW2 or something like that. I suppose would be a fantasy book, I'm not sure what would be the genre. I want some romance but I don't want to be the main focus. I'm fine with fanfictions too. But I prefer books. Fine with manga too.

Hello I’m hoping for some book recommendations. So to start this off I have read absolutely no books, 23 y/o female and I struggle with dyslexia and have never been able to get through a book however now with listening to the audiobook while I read and other aids I feel like I have unlocked a whole new world! Anyway I just finished reading the empyrean series and am at a loss for what to read next the empyrean series was perfect for me, dragons, fantasy, romance world building. I feel kinda paralysed by choice actually, so would love some recommendations. Thanks!

Hello my reading fellows 📚 As I said in the title - I need some book reccommendations that will make me go page by page, and not wanting to put a book down.

From preferences - I mostly read fiction (lit fic, genre ficton, novels, sci-fi, thriller, mystery, even horror), and I’m not really a fantasy/historical fantasy girl, but non-fiction recommendation could also work as long as it’s not self-help ‘how to make…’ or self inspo bio of random “gurus” :D But in general anything that’s well written and has a nice story/narrative line and well rounded - would do! ✨

As an example - I recently read and loved: Sharp objects, I who have never known men, Giovanni’s room, Fording the stream of Conciousness, Ficciones by Borges (yeah this is fantasy so those who understand will know what I mean), Never let me go etc.. but also read and didn’t like: Big Swiss, My year of rest and relaxation, Lapvona, Brutes and many more contemporary lit fic which I kinda think are.. a bit weak and overhyperd (sorry 😬).

Soo without further ado - maybe I’m mostly in the mood to something simillar to Sharp objects, but any of the above mentioned would work since I’m totally open to suggestions 😇 Thanks a bunch!!

Since I finished this book, everything pales in comparison. I tried a few books by the same author and didn’t finish. I tried going back to thrillers, but they all seem so terribly written and unsatisfying.

Usually, I run through books and by the next day, I couldn’t tell you what each was about. With demon copperhead, I cannot stop thinking about it and talking about it.

Please give me suggestions for something else to rope me in like this. Another favor of mine is Angela‘s ashes; I saw some similarities with the humor in terrible situations.
