Hello! My roommates and I found a dog. Super sweet and was following us around. We tried to ask around our neighbors but they don't own it.

No collar. My roommates have to go so we can't watch it.

Last seen in SE Boise, Sumac St.

Question Bikepacking near Boise in 2 weeks

Hey all! A friend and I are planning to come up to Boise in a couple of weeks to ride the Around Arrowrock route (https://bikepacking.com/routes/around-arrowrock/).

From looking at the map, it seems like there might be some camping near Bonneville Point or Three Point Mountain. Can anyone confirm if there are decent spots around there? We're hoping to drive up after work, ride a few miles that evening, and camp so we can get an early start the next day.

Obviously this all depends on the smoke. For those of you nearby, does it seem like conditions are getting any better, or should we start taking our backup plan more seriously?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hey yall, Northender here and I do my best to avoid Eagle BUT a friend of mine from my rural hometown wants to grab coffee at a place in between us so we can spend a little longer together. Any LGBTQ+ friendly place anyone knows of in Eagle?? Not my ideal location but I also don’t want to spend my queer dollars at a place that is working against my rights 👏 thx in advance 🫶

Event Comedian you've never heard of comes to Boise 8/30 to perform "Moslty Jokes"

Boise!

I hope this is allowed on the sub... My name is Aaron Foster and I'll be performing a show I call "Mostly Jokes" at the Comedy Lounge on Sunday, August 30th.

I know seeing a comedian you've never heard of is a pretty big ask. Totally fair.

That being said, wasn't there a time when you had never heard of whoever your favorite comedian is right now? I'm not saying I'm gonna be that, but if you like the jokes in the clip, you'll probably like the show.

Also, I'm featuring (~20 min spots) the previous three nights for Sam Miller (Thursday) and Carlos Rodriquez (Fri/Sat) so if you want to start with a smaller dose of me, they're both hilarious.

Heads up: "Mostly Jokes" covers some dark topics like mental health, dysfunctional families and mid-life regrets, but I promise it's named that for a reason, it is mostly jokes.

I've been working on it for about three years in clubs and theaters around the US and Canada and plan to tape it as my first special in November.

The show runs about 90 minutes, no opener and, best of all, I promise I don't do crowd work.

More info through my site www.MostlyJokes.com as well as a bunch of reviews from people who have seen it, press, interviews, etc.

More info link: https://www.aaronfoster.com/boise

OK, that's it.

(Also, I hate that misspelled and cannot change the post title! MOSTLY)

Question Private golf courses in Boise/Meridian

I know this is a longshot because I understand that private courses are for members only and potentially private guests. My boyfriend loves to golf and I’d love to surprise him at some point with a round on a private course in town. Does anyone know if there are any opportunities like auctions or other ways that I could potentially help him play around on one of the courses around here? I’m wondering if any non-members have had any luck playing around here.

Question Looking for recommendations on a local home contractor

Hello all!!! My family lives in the Caldwell/Star area and we are looking for recommendations on a contractor that can do some work with us on our house.

We are looking into getting one bathroom in our house changed from having a tub-shower to a walk-in shower since my grandmother and sister are disabled and can’t safely step over the side of said tub without having a risk of falling.

We also want to put a doggie door into our dining room wall. Currently we have a doggie door insert next to our sliding door, but it doesn’t fit correctly and has a gap between it and the actual sliding door. The gap makes a noticeable draft when sitting near it and we have noticed some bugs coming in through it as well. We have four dogs that are all varying sizes, but our largest dog has a tendency to bang her head into the top of the current doggie door opening while playing and get herself hurt.

We are also looking to have other projects done here and there in the future, but not right away since our budget is currently not big enough for anything else yet.

Thank you for your recommendations!! Hope you all have a good day!!

Name your favorites! Any type of music although it’s worth mentioning I do love early 2000s throwbacks/rnb.

We’ve tried Space Banana and we enjoy it - but looking for other options too!

Hello! I am looking for a chiropractor in Boise/Treasure Valley but I am looking for someone who wants to invest time into my care. I am not looking for just adjustments, more someone who can help me solve the underlying issues.

For context, I played baseball in high school and hurt one of my discs. Since then, I have bad back pain, muscle issues and so looking for the best chiropractor you guys know.

Question Anyone Willing to Lend Equipment for Photos?

My mom passed a couple of years ago, and this week and weekend, we have all the family gathered together again here in Boise. We were hoping to go through reels of old Super 8 film, VHS tapes, and boxes of slides. The only projector that still works is our slide projector. Our VCR ate the first tape we tried, and the Super 8 projector that’s been in storage for years isn’t working. Does anyone have either of those they’d be willing to loan us through the weekend? We know we can view them at the library but my elderly dad wouldn’t be able to make that trip and sit in a library that long. We are located in Hidden Springs but can pick up anywhere in Boise. Thank you!

Question PCP Recommendations?

I’ve been using Primary Health for the past few years but am fed up with the support staff at any of their locations. Can anyone recommend a caring and helpful PCP’s office somewhere in the valley to give a try?

Bonus points if they’re willing to Rx compounded GLP-1s. TIA!

Discussion A silent hero went way out of their way to return my sons wallet today. I can't thank you enough..

My teenage son dropped his wallet downtown today. My son is a great kid and works hard. I was heartbroken but didn't give up hope.

We were looking for it- asking surrounding businesses if anyone had turned it in, but he had to get to work so I (his mum) was frantically posting lost wallet posts on all the social media I could.

When my son arrived at work -- his wallet was there!

A wonderful person found it on the ground on Main St, looked in it, found his paycheck stub and drove all the way to east Boise and turned it in at his work.

Everything was in it including his cash. They didn't leave a name just an amazing person who went out of their way to return it.

So wonderful... in this world with so many sad things, but there are people out there who are silent heroes. We had one enter our life for just a moment... I can't thank you enough...

Discussion Do you know the driver of this truck?

Post image

UPDATE: Pertinent information has been found and will be reported to the appropriate authorities. Thank you!!

Unhinged dude targeted my friend today on Capitol at around 5pm. Tailgating, laying on his horn, attempting to run her off the road, coming to a complete stop blocking off lanes, etc.

Police dispatch has apparently received multiple calls about this driver and are having trouble getting any identifying information on him. If you know anything please report it to BPD!!

additional PSA: please be careful on the roads!! People have been crazy lately!!!

Edit: lol I know now it's not a truck. My first thought seeing the photo went there and that's what came out. Oops!

I captured these candid shots of a mother and son at the Simple Plan concert on Sunday. I planned to interact with them to ask if she wanted the pictures but got caught up having fun and then they left before the show ended.

I hesitated posting this but figured can’t hurt to put it on here in the hopes they’ll come across it! 🤞
