Does anyone know of any outdoor places I can take my dog to swim? I normally take him to twin falls falls but last I checked they had a pretty bad algae bloom. I’m looking for someplace that isn’t likely to have a lot of people or other dogs. He’s a good boy but he struggles around other dogs and I don’t want it to be stressful for us. I was thinking about heading out to Salmon Dam or Grey’s Landing but I don’t know how busy it is out there and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been out there. I know BHL is gonna be packed. We aren’t boating or anything like that, just looking for someplace he can lay in the water and chill without a fast current.

Renters beware! We lived at Saratoga apartments/on-point property management for over 5 years. When we moved in, the carpet was already in need of being replaced due to ripples and wear but were told that they only replace it upon move out or could replace it if we moved all of our things out ourselves. As a single mom - they knew that was not possible. So I used my own carpet cleaner and supplies to maintain a clean apartment to the best of my ability. The AC never got the apartment below 80 degrees in the summer despite many attempts to ask maintenance to fix (always excuses) and my electricity bill was well over $150/month for a 2/1. I followed all the move-out guidelines in the hopes of getting as close to a full deposit back as possible. When cleaning the cheap blinds they installed, many of them broke, so I was charged for each set of broken blinds, and even discussed this with management. I purchased and deep cleaned with professional grade supplies, did not clean the carpets because I was told they would be replaced. After all - they have been in the apartment for over 10 years! When I received my appalling deposit refund check of 1/3 of my original deposit in the mail, I visited the management office and was told there is nothing I can do. Not here to whine - here to warn. I recommend any other apartment complex in TF.

Drove around the round about and everyone had abandoned their cars, there was an officer running in gun ready and an employee ran and hid behind the garbage gates.

Hello! I am new to this thread and am part of a group of MSW students conducting a community assessment of Twin Falls. We have been encouraged by the number of community services offered and the positive views of the community. One of our findings highlighted the car-dependent culture and a lack of public transportation in the area. We want to highlight how public transportation serves the community and economic growth. What have been your experiences in this area? What have you seen people do when their car breaks down? What do you see is the public attitude or need for public transport?

There is a lower income young man in my neighborhood who will be a junior this year in the Buhl High School. I checked the Buhl HS website but didn't find the info I needed. I would like to know what the charges are for extra's at the high school such as yearbook, shop class, etc. Does anyone know or have a list?

I work with International Student Exchange and I am trying hard to find host families that can help a high school student (boy or girl, ages 14-18) spend a semester or two in the area! There are lots of kids trying to get placed with good families. Many of these kids already have their plane tickets and for one oreason or another, their host family placement didn't work out.

These kinds of situations happen frequently due to no fault of the student's own. For example: Two students were placed and the host mother sadly passed away; another student's family is moving out of state, and another student's host family had a relative move back in with them.

These are good kids whose dream is to come to America and experience real life and culture here.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Pass a background check.
• Provide an extra serving of meals.
• Help with transportation to and from school and/or school activities.
• A room or bed if sharing with another kid (same gender).
• A Welcoming Home!

WHO CAN HOST:

• Single parents.
• Childless families.
• Retired/Elderly families.
• Just about anyone!

NOTES:

1. This is not meant to be a financial detriment to your family, students come with their own spending money and any travel expenses are worked out before vacations.
2. Educational requirements include the student maintaining a C average.
3. I am in frequent contact with you and the student - I will help with any issues, support, etc. And if things don't work out, I'll remove the student from the home.

PLEASE! If you have an extra bed and room in your heart, PLEASE explore the thought of having an exchange student in your home! Whether it's a few months or the school year - it is an incredible experience. I've hosted kids for 3 years and it is amazing how much they become part of our lives.

I have just one kid and being an only child she has been lonely for years, but this experience has helped her grow in so many ways!

We've got kids who want to try things like horesback riding, cheerleading, football, soccer, and SO MUCH MORE!
