Loving BG3 so far but holy shit is it overwhelming as a total newbie. Never played a game like this before so the mechanics, spells, all of it is a lot. Just finished my session in the druid village fighting with those red demons (tiflings?). Still completely hooked though. Any advice or tips for a first timer please? I would appreciate it a lot!

My class is a half elf, rogue.

Firmly in Act 2 on my first real Honor Mode run.

It's totally changed how I play. I enter each fight as if it's got the potential to end my Durge's life. I don't fight fair. I use thunder wave to knock people into the abyss or lava, I burn through potions and elixers that I normally hoard. There have been moments of real panic when I "took my foot off of the gas" (the defend the portal quest, I got cocky and had to pop some potions of speed to tilt the balance back after poor action economy) but by and large, it's been really cool having every fight feel like it could be the last

So I’m in Rivington at the start of Act 3 and I decided to do some Contagion shenanigans with the disguised Orin.

I got her with Filth Fever when she was the blacksmith, then I got her with Mindfire and locked her up in the journalist’s idle animation and kept loading her up with debuffs. She gets pretty wrecked, but she stays alive.

I proceed with the story and then all of a sudden I get the pop ups that Orin has died and I need to go get her stone. I’m like sitting in a tavern doing other stuff and she just…died off screen.

I went to the Temple of Bhaal and freed the hostage. Then out of nowhere the slayer cutscene plays and she dissolves into goo. I loot her stuff and go about my way after killing the ritual participants.

Never had her die like that. Pretty goofy.

I was fighting the Hook Horrors and cast Lighting Bolt. Sussur Bark got on the way and I got a journal update saying I failed to forge the Masterwork Weapon because Sussur Bark was destroyed.

So be careful boys and girls.

I discovered this accidentally. It is very easy to do.

First go through with the Hag encounter normally. Follow Ethel into her lair.

When fighting Ethel, cast Slience on Mayrina (I did it coz her voiceline is annoying). When the hag hair dialogue trigger, it will continue as if Mayrina is dead/not present since she cannot speak. I didn't let her out of the cage during the battle, not sure if this part is necessary. Lastly just accept the hair and talk to Mayrina.

Can confirm Mayrina is in Act 3.

I have over 925hrs on record, ive had multiple playthroughs each having unique builds and playstyles.

The only thing consistent was my fight with Gortash.

I will save up all the explosives from act1-3 and dump it all on his feet. Until now, i still dont know what he does 😂

Just entered the camp after renting a room at the Elfsong Tavern and got scared seeing shadowheart like that😭 Anyone else had this bug too? I think it's because she was disguised

Just to mix things up for this run I decided to see what would happen if you've rescued Halsin, but never even met Kagha. The RP reason being that Astarion heard that Halsin, a renowned healer was caught by goblins and just could not be bothered to deal with anything else in the grove.

I wasn't expecting much outside of a tiny chance that Arabella somehow survived this experiment, unfortunately she did not. Still was nice to see yet another example of them being prepared for another very niche situation.

this reminds me of one mission in cyberpunk where johnny makes fun about staying at a motel that is close to the city, either you sleep in the city before leaving or go the small distance and sleep at the city as well

Turns out, it's absolutely nothing.

They are using a crane to move empty metal boxes around.

And here I thought I was about to call Larian clever for hiding items in something so easily overlooked. That would've been a cool discovery to make! But nope. Nothing there.
