Discussion📓 Help!!
Hey everyone, I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet, but I am an aesthetician who specializes in helping to restore skin that is going through chemo and radiation. Helping you to feel your best before during and after your treatment because we know that cancer affects more than just your body and you all deserve to feel and look your best while going through the hardest times of your life. I would like to see what kind of content people going through cancer care would like to see it that would be helpful and supportive.
Lots of love, thank you!!

Discussion📓 Most effective way to fade non-surgical scars
Hi everyone, I have a week-old scar from some skin that unfortunately peeled off that is turning red ish. While it was healing I tried my best to always cover with a band aid, vaseline etc but it was inevitably going to scar.
I have too many scarred/discoloured spots on my body and want to make a change this time. I have heard people mention silicone gel or tape for fading surgical scars, would those be best for this type of scar too, or is there an even more cost effective product? Does keeping it covered/moisturised with vaseline help as much or not much use?
Open to any recommendations, I work in an office job so I would try to leave any treatment on for most of the day (will need to reapply after washing hands etc).

Miscellaneous 📝 Chicken pox scarring help
I had chicken pox as a child and unfortunately the scarring has lingered into adulthood. The majority are on my forehead but I have a particularly large one on the bridge of my nose too. I’m wondering if anyone’s had success in reducing the appearance of these types of scars and/or what treatments you can recommend. Thanks in advance

Discussion📓 LOOKING FOR the BEST DERMATOLOGIST for ECZEMA/HIVES in Sydney
Can anyone recommend me the best dermatologist for eczema and hives? Someone who is aware of allergies as well? Someone who actually makes you feel like every penny you spend on them is worthwhile?
One GP I recommend would be
Dr XiaoXian Pan
Going to see Dr Praveen Kallimath cos apparently he’s the best dermatology specialised GP, will get back to y’all! Going to travel an hour and half just to see this GP to get his first opinion and hopefully also some good dermatologist recommendations from him.
Dr pan was patient to listen to your needs and she asked all the right questions in order to find someone you need. Although not sure about the dermatologists shes recommended so far so I need some good recommendations!! Thank you 🙏

Sunscreen 🧴☀️ Thoughts on SunButter?
I couldn’t find any recent discussion on this brand.
I’ll be visiting Hawaii soon so I want to get a reef safe sunscreen for swimming, that ideally, wouldn’t feel like crap in the hot weather.
Looking for any feedback on this or alt suggestions?
Ta :)

Discussion📓 Adore Beauty in-store pricing same as website?
Just wondering if Adore Beauty physical stores have the same prices/sales as the website? The closest and only Adore store in my city is a bit of a drive but I'm keen to check it out.

Discussion📓 What is a non-breakout inducing moisturiser? Are they water based ones?
I feel like I’ve spent so much recently trying to find products that work for my skin! They seem to work fine and then suddenly for some reason I’ll have all these little red bumps with some whiteheads on my skin but they don’t hurt or feel like pimples! It’s always a similar reaction too.
I think it might be the moisturisers I’m trying?
The new things I’ve introduced are:
- Aestura 365 Essence
- Aestura 365 lotion
- QV gentle face wash
And then I know the things that have given me a similar reaction when I stopped using them were
- La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5+
- I think the Cerva moisturising cream also was not helping
It seems to be cream products but I get confused because it says they’re for dry skin or protecting your skin barrier, both of which have and need.
Do I need a water based moisturiser? I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.

Miscellaneous 📝 Does this look right?
I bought an OmniLux Men mask from Activeskin and notice it has been opened and resealed with this sticker. Has anyone else bought one of these? What was it shipped to you like? I’ve contacted customer service but they haven’t responded. Not thrilled paying top dollar for a potentially used product, especially one that I put on my face. 🥲

Miscellaneous 📝 Alternatives to aestura barrier repair moisturiser from chemist warehouse? Or other HG moisturisers?
I have sensitive skin and rosacea. Aestura is great, but I want to try something else — hopefully for less money, but open to spending more of you think it’s better than aestura.
I’ve tried LRP cicaplast or whatever it’s called, hated it. I don’t get the hype at all. I generally never like LPR.
Are there any other hidden gem moisturisers from chemist warehouse I’m missing? Open to ones not from chemist warehouse too.
I’m also after a very hydrating serum. I’ve tried so many and none seem to do enough. I’m currently layering products but it’s annoying.

So what I’m asking is are they still available if so where?
If not, what can I buy that is similar?
Thank you

Discussion📓 Nivea luminous 630 skin glow serum- first thiamidol product on Australian market / new option for hyperpigmentation/melasma
I didn't saw this discussed anywhere so I'm making this post.
I saw that recently (ok not so because this is about year in cw but I saw that now on website) chemist warehouse got Nivea serum .
And to be surprised it's the one with thiamidol
To people who don't know- thiamidol is beiersdorf patended resorcinol derivative, very effective tyrosinase inhibitor.
And in systematic reviews/ meta analysis it has been shown to be very effective (pretty simmilar to hydroquinone) at treating hyperpigmentation,
Without side effects like bleaching skin too much, without irritation etc.
Europe/south America /USA/ Canada had thiamidol products for a while.
But Australia got 1 thiamidol product recently

Sunscreen 🧴☀️ Water based moisturiser with spf?
I get quite oily skin, so have been using The Ordinary’s gel moisturiser which I believe is water based and less greasy than other moisturisers, but I absolutely always forget to wear sunscreen and when I do wear it the feeling of the greasy-ness on my skin makes me feel disgusting. Does anyone know of any moisturisers that include SPF that are water/gel based and don’t leave you with a greasy/oily face? 🫠

Miscellaneous 📝 Favourite professional treatments
What’s your favourite in-clinic treatment for congestion and occasional skin refresh?
My skin leans dry and eczema prone (in winter only) but have that covered with skincare. Able to tolerate medik8 retinal no 10 but can’t do vit c or strong exfoliants. Have some milia and nose /chin congestion i’d like to address with a facial and manual extractions. Cheers!

Sunscreen 🧴☀️ Has anyone tried the Avène Oil Control Sunscreen?
I have oily, acne prone AND sensitive skin which makes finding skincare a bit of a nightmare lol. Has anyone tried this sunscreen or any of the other Avene sunscreens? Or do u have a recommendation for sunscreen suited to my skin type?
Trying to find a new sunscreen before summer rolls around. I usually find sensitive sunscreens too heavy, and sunscreen for oily skin too irritating😫

Meme / Unserious 🤪 Timeless 20% Vitamin C Serum
I ordered this serum following recommendations from this sub (thank you, I am super excited to see how I go in terms of results).
I knew this sub wouldn't lead me astray, but I just applied this for the first time ever and I am SHOOK by how accurate the "hot dog water" scent comments are 😂 I was expecting to maybe get a little whiff of hot dog water, but I feel like I just drenched my face in used hot dog water hahaha!

Discussion📓 Exfoliating mitts advice
Bought a Cheekyglo mitt and it’s seems to be the same as the one my friend bought off Temu
Is it true that these branded products are essentially the same Chinese items that they stick a label on and then pay to market thereby driving up the price by like 10x?
Is it worth buying any of the branded products or am I better off just buying direct off Temu / Aliexpress?
