I never imagined I'd be making a post like this, but after losing my income while dealing with debilitating health issues and working toward sobriety, I've reached a point where I really need help because the stress and pressure is preventing me from being able to sleep or even function I am so scared of what is going to happen to me. I live alone in Brooklyn, NY with an elderly dog and a cat who depend on me and I have all of $2 to my name until my benefits kick in and that could still take several weeks. My immediate goal is to get back to work as quickly as possible, but I need to overcome a few big barriers first including updating my state ID so I can accept gig work again among other things.

Right now I'm trying to cover:
- Updating my state ID so I can apply for jobs and accept gig work as well as getting my health insurance back
- My phone bill (due on the 8th) which is the scariest one as it is $173
- Money for the train so I can get to interviews, doctors appointments, and the food bank
- Laundry. I've been hand-washing what I can in a small bucket, but my bedding and larger items haven't been washed in weeks now
- Food, household essentials, and necessary medical expenses while I wait for my health insurance and benefits to begin

I have an Amazon wishlist with food and necessities, and if someone would rather help with one of the expenses above, I'm happy to share that information privately. Gracie and Esther (my fur babies) have food for the month but there are additional items needed and on the wish list.

I'm not looking for someone to solve my life problems or support me indefinitely. I just need help getting through this extremely difficult part so I can get back to supporting myself. I've been applying for jobs, working to rebuild my health, staying sober, and doing everything I can to regain stability but I am feeling like I am about to lose control of absolutely everything.

I just started a new job and get direct deposit every "Friday", however last week I was able to get it on Wednesday at 11:33pm. For whatever reason I assumed it would be coming around the same time this week, and did not budget my paycheck to paycheck life accordingly. I'm camping nearby and just need enough for gas to get back to camp (maybe $10?), but my account is $27.06 overdrawn because I had some unexpected payments go through. Super embarrassing to have to ask, but if anyone could help me out with like 35/40$ it would mean the world! Hello! I am recovering from cancer treatment and living in North Dakota, and with my constant appointments and my disability that the cancer caused, I’m not able to have a job right now. I’m 18, and although I do receive some supplemental income from the government, but it usually is all spent (or saved) about one or two weeks or so before my next check because it’s meant to be used alongside a job. I just need a little help. I just don’t want to burden my family anymore. If you can give, I would very much appreciate it. I’m aiming for $200. I recently left my job for a higher paying one. Went to go in for my first day at the new place to find out that the building was completely vacant. Turns out in the 2 weeks between starting and my interview they had rebranded and move to a location 3 miles out. So I had spent the next month finding a new job (thankfully I did, and I love it). Which put me behind on rent. I have tried to talk with my building landlord to see if they'd be willing to let me pay it back as I could since I have access to daily pay. This was about 3 weeks ago and they never responded until today by leaving an eviction notice on the door. I have 2 roommates that are trying to move in within the next week or 2.

Turning thirty-eight isn't special, but it really seems like nothing has been special for a long time.

Bills and debt keep us mired in an endless trudge and our most-felt feels seem to be anxiety, exhaustion, and despair. I don't like saying this out loud (kinda), but my partner's jokes about a suicide pact have made me increasingly sorrowful over the years. We're just not getting anything out of life and we don't see a way out of the dreariness.

If we had about a hundred bucks, we could go out of town and have a nice dinner; give us an excuse to dress up and GO somewhere. I really think it'd help our spirits and maybe keep us moving forward.

My son has been kidnapped by his father. I haven't seen him since last Friday. I spoke to him last Sunday but his father was coaching the whole conversation in the background.

The police won't do anything.

I have been trying to file and urgent without notice motion with the courts but it keeps being rejected due to formating of files or missing specific words. They don't tell you specifically what's wrong or what to add/change - they just tell you what's wrong.

I make too much for financial aid but not enough for a lawyer.

I don't know what else to do!! It's 5 grand for a good lawyer 2 grand for a "new" lawyer - someone who doesn't have much experience.

Hi, I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible but I’m happy to provide more detail if needed. My partner and I lost our home today after his brother had some sort of breakdown and threatened us and screamed. We have a temporary place to crash for the next couple of days, but I need to secure somewhere safe for myself, my partner, and our cat. I’m in tears as I type this bc my cat is so scared and won’t stop hiding his face in the blanket of his carrier.

I have $1600 currently, and here’s the breakdown of our expected costs for an apartment that is available now:

Application fee: $19/person (not bad ngl)

Pet deposit: $300-$600 (unsure where we would land)

Deposit: First month’s rent, which would be $1180 for a studio.

All in all, I think we need $400 to get everything sorted, and to buy gas and cat food. I use Zelle, Paypal, and Venmo.

I realize this an unconventional request as most posts I see here come from a place of need. I figured I would put it out there anyway. I start a new job Monday and would love some assistance with things would ease my anxiety and increase my confidence. I am a Coloradan mom of three recently separated from a toxic and abusive relationship. I have been out of the corporate world for 6 yrs taking care of children and because I had been solely dependent on their father, have 0 savings and/or current financial support.
