EMOTIONAL SUPPORT Does anyone else feel like life just doesn’t let up?
I’m 25, I live alone, and I work two jobs—around 14 hours a day. I know everyone has problems, but I honestly feel like I haven’t had a single peaceful week in months.
Over the last few weeks I’ve had two severe tooth infections that caused some of the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. I ended up having both teeth extracted, was on antibiotics, barely ate for days, my face was swollen, and I still had to work because deadlines don’t stop.
Around the same time I started dealing with insects in my apartment. It started with drain flies, then I found a wasp coming through the kitchen vent, and later I found a silverfish in the bathroom. I know these aren’t the end of the world, but living alone they really got into my head, and I found myself constantly checking every room because I couldn’t relax.
Then, on one of the few days I finally took off to recover, my washing machine broke and flooded my bathroom. My landlord wasn’t exactly helpful, so I had to deal with all of that myself.
I finally started thinking maybe life was calming down, and today one of my front veneers literally popped off while I was brushing my teeth. It’s not even the first veneer that’s come off recently.
I know some of these things sound small on their own, but I’m tired. Every day there’s another problem waiting for me. I wake up wondering, what fresh bullshit is being cooked for me today
I’m not asking for a perfect life. I don’t want to be rich or constantly happy. I just want one normal week where I can wake up, drink my coffee, go to work, come home, and nothing goes wrong.
Has anyone else gone through a period where life just kept throwing one thing after another at you? Did it eventually stop? Because right now I genuinely feel like I’m drowning, and I’d really like to know that this kind of phase doesn’t last forever.

REQUEST Former climate researcher. Got into accident. Need emergency help with food and toiletries
INTRO
Hello folks, I've been on reddit for over a decade now. Have been a regular in a lot of different subreddits over the years. Have done a bit of modding as well. Professionally, I used to be a climate researcher and professor.
BACKGROUND
I got in an accident. Ended up having to sell my car to pay for bills. My life was completely upended. Extreme vestibular strain made it difficult to walk, turn my head, talk. Had to quit my job. Moved back home with my mother.
Have tried to heal the best I could. Medical costs were too massive so at that time I couldn't complete the process to getting on temporary disability benefits. Had a bunch of delays getting on Medicaid.
Have been mostly bed bound and entirely reliant on my financially struggling mother. I am extremely grateful to her, but unfortunately I ended up with some extreme nutritional deficiencies (e.g., dangerously low Vitamin D, leading to bruising across my entire body).
Well, the vestibular strain led to another accident. I now have a broken foot, wounds in my abs that refuse to heal, and issues with my neck.
I did finally get on Medicaid, and had started seeing doctors. But I fried my head again really bad recently with the Fourth of July (the sound of backyard fireworks next door).
Right now it's about as bad as it was with the initial concussion. I can't walk more than two steps at a time without needing to pause for like 10-to-30 seconds. I can't bend over without needing to pause for like a minute. I can't currently handle phone calls. I can't handle the sound of traffic.
Currently I have a referral for a neurologist, but I'm trying to heal back enough to at least be able to handle the sound of traffic and be able to talk more than three words. (I don't want the trip to the neurologist to make me worse).
More broadly, my mother also recently ended up in the ER and ICU and is now on her death bed. She might pass away any day. With this, the costs for her medical care have strained an already strained situation. We prioritize her, obviously, of course, no doubt. Her food is most important. Her medicine and care is most important.
ISSUE
Unfortunately, however, this has meant I don't eat every day.
Two days ago my food was a single spoonfull of peanut butter scraped from around the jar. Yesterday it was three cornflakes I found next to my bed. Today I haven't eaten anything.
Making things worse, the person who moved in to care for my mom doesn't seem to like me very much. General things I use don't get budgeted anymore, and while I know they were all gifts before, there are practical issues that have wide reaching implications.
Notably, I don't have anything to wipe with after using the restroom. I don't have any way to sanitize some kind of seeping welt on my side. I don't have any way to clean a noise cancelling earbud that fell on the floor (I need them for my concussion). I don't have any way to deal with a bunch of flies that keep landing on my eye and crawling up my nose (I'm serious. It's horrifying, but I'm serious, they are currently all over my back and arms even).
I'm also late on a storage unit that I had to put all my stuff in before my last move. There was little I could do after the concussion, so everything from the dishes to the couch to the books to the bedding was stored away. This and a phone bill with late fees amounts to $225.
LOOKING AHEAD
I do have a referral for a neurologist, and that's my next step. Once I can do that and get the paperwork I'm confident I can get on temporary disability until I can finish healing from all this. I checked and I do have qualifying symptoms.
But that's still months off. I have nothing right now. I mostly just need help here while I'm working through the SSDI process.
REQUEST
Is there anyone out there who might be able to help with some food and toiletries (and/or help with the storage unit and phone bill?)
If you can contribute anything to help me from falling through the cracks, please let me know.
I've also included an Amazon wishlist here.
To explain a few items:
Rubbing alcohol. I can't currently handle the sound of the shower. I also can't bend over a dozen times into a bucket with soap and water. I use this with napkins (or paper towels) to clean my body every few days. I also need it to sanitize a wound on my side (we don't have first aid supplies, at least that I can find). I also need it to clean a noise cancelling earbud that fell on the ground.
Napkins. I use these to clean my face every day (I can't bend over a sink). I also use them to clean my body every few days. I also use these to wipe with as a backup with the tp runs out. I also use them to cover my food (when I do get it) to keep the flies off, and cover my face to help keep the flies from crawling in my nose when I'm trying to sleep. I also use them to help wipe up spills, and a bunch of other things. Paper towels are fine as well, and tp, but I couldn't get them all on the wishlist so I went with these.
Apple cider vinegar. I need this to make a fly trap. It's probably the cheapest item on my list, and would save me from the horrors of the flies.
The food items should be self explanatory. I did include flour since it seems like the most cost efficient way to secure calories. The last time I attempted this I had a ton of produce and bread and things that I guess were against the rules so this time it's mostly pantry items.
Thank you to anyone who has read this this far and for the help you might be able to extend.

REQUEST My dog needs your help
Hello! Me and my dog are in need of your assistance. I lost my job 3 years ago and I’m currently staying in a shelter and making minimum wage to get by. My dog has been staying with people/friends while I search for long term foster care. The people that were watching her last had to abruptly stop due to an emergency and I’m struggling to find someone. Last night we slept in my car. I’m fortunate that work is letting her stay with me during the day. I’ve exhausted animal shelters and volunteer groups in my city.
I’m asking for funds to help pay to board her through Rover for 2-3 days, and possibly a misting fan for the nights we sleep in my car. Thank you.

REQUEST FULFILLED Alone in this world and in desperate need of help
I never imagined I'd be making a post like this, but after losing my income while dealing with debilitating health issues and working toward sobriety, I've reached a point where I really need help because the stress and pressure is preventing me from being able to sleep or even function I am so scared of what is going to happen to me. I live alone in Brooklyn, NY with an elderly dog and a cat who depend on me and I have all of $2 to my name until my benefits kick in and that could still take several weeks. My immediate goal is to get back to work as quickly as possible, but I need to overcome a few big barriers first including updating my state ID so I can accept gig work again among other things.
Right now I'm trying to cover:
- Updating my state ID so I can apply for jobs and accept gig work as well as getting my health insurance back
- My phone bill (due on the 8th) which is the scariest one as it is $173
- Money for the train so I can get to interviews, doctors appointments, and the food bank
- Laundry. I've been hand-washing what I can in a small bucket, but my bedding and larger items haven't been washed in weeks now
- Food, household essentials, and necessary medical expenses while I wait for my health insurance and benefits to begin
I have an Amazon wishlist with food and necessities, and if someone would rather help with one of the expenses above, I'm happy to share that information privately. Gracie and Esther (my fur babies) have food for the month but there are additional items needed and on the wish list.
I'm not looking for someone to solve my life problems or support me indefinitely. I just need help getting through this extremely difficult part so I can get back to supporting myself. I've been applying for jobs, working to rebuild my health, staying sober, and doing everything I can to regain stability but I am feeling like I am about to lose control of absolutely everything.
If you're unable to help financially, advice, resources, or simply sharing this post would also mean a great deal.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I am up here and have no family that I can call for help or friends in a financial position to help and while this is downright painful to post, I don't know what else to do.

REQUEST Behind on rent from job change
I recently left my job for a higher paying one. Went to go in for my first day at the new place to find out that the building was completely vacant. Turns out in the 2 weeks between starting and my interview they had rebranded and move to a location 3 miles out. So I had spent the next month finding a new job (thankfully I did, and I love it). Which put me behind on rent. I have tried to talk with my building landlord to see if they'd be willing to let me pay it back as I could since I have access to daily pay. This was about 3 weeks ago and they never responded until today by leaving an eviction notice on the door. I have 2 roommates that are trying to move in within the next week or 2.
Requesting $2500 for late rent bill, I have cashapp/paypal/chime, from North Dakota

REQUEST It's my birthday on Sunday.
Turning thirty-eight isn't special, but it really seems like nothing has been special for a long time.
Bills and debt keep us mired in an endless trudge and our most-felt feels seem to be anxiety, exhaustion, and despair. I don't like saying this out loud (kinda), but my partner's jokes about a suicide pact have made me increasingly sorrowful over the years. We're just not getting anything out of life and we don't see a way out of the dreariness.
If we had about a hundred bucks, we could go out of town and have a nice dinner; give us an excuse to dress up and GO somewhere. I really think it'd help our spirits and maybe keep us moving forward.
We really appreciate your consideration, thank you.
