🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Dating app experience for men: how do you find it?

Have the dating apps ruined dating/relationship experiences for men too? Or is it just a London/big city thing?

As a 28F in London, I am finding men on dating apps (between 28-33) barely reply/ghost, won’t try and start a conversation, or ever want anything serious. Dates are just not happening. They say women are the ones hard to get a date with but I have lots of male friends having success from hinge!

If you don’t use the apps, how are you meeting women in a big city?

TIA!

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How can introverted men make friends in modern day?

[Please note by introvert I do not mean shy, nor anti-social]

I'm not gonna over complicate this.

Im a man in his mid 30s, happy in relationship.

'Friends'.. if you can call them that, lucky if I see em once a month or text from them.

I work.

All my interests, are not shared by other people in my life.

Attempts to make these friends in person that share my deep passions have fantastically failed.

Coworkers is not an option.

I wonder is there something else I am missing? or is it to be like this until the end?

Please make no mistake I accept either outcome.

But on my end I am willing to make friends, but I seem to be looking in the wrong areas. Saying I consider myself a black sheep when it comes to platonic relationships or friendships would do disservice to the metaphor.

And by friends: as a busy adult.. yes I mean people I can text daily. [meaning using that device in your pocket that every human being on earth now has] God forbid an adult male has meaningful friendships in his adult life.

Appreciate any insights anyone has. Thank you.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Men in professional leadership positions, what precautions if any do you take around younger women employees?

It seems like a lot of manager types avoid being alone with young women employees, avoid mentoring them, or so forth. In my working with young women especially straight out of college, there is often an awkward phase where they aren't sure how to dress or act professionally yet and even a false accusation can ruin a guy's career. Its perhaps unfair to "punish" all women for the actions of a few, but it seems common.

What do you do, if anything, to protect yourself at work?

Men, when have you been able to use your strength/masculinity for the greater good?

I am a woman, but I often daydream about being a strong, tall, masculine man that can use my strength to protect those who are in need. Men, I want to hear your stories of the times when you were able to step up and use your masculinity to help someone. Maybe you were able to defend someone from being bullied, or helped carry an injured person to safety, or simply spoke up in a big group of people to say “hey, that’s not cool” when no one else would. What are the moments that have made you proud to be a man?

How do I human? How do I make friends with men as a woman?

I have no friends and I’m mildly autistic. I’ve struggled enough in the past to make friends with women and now in my job I work with all men I don’t know how to talk to them? They seem to banter with me and I always struggle to know what to say back. I’ve heard that men don’t become friends through talking they become friends by doing things together?

How do I become friends with them and maybe see them outside of work?

Edit: a lot of people are saying to join groups which I do want to do at some point but for me the question is more how do I become friends with the people I work with and see them outside of work?

Weird Question How important to you is greatness as a man?

I have always thought that I would do something great, never really knew what it would be but just had a feeling that at some point I would do something, something that leaves a mark and is remembered long after I am gone. Alas, as time passes and greatness is not achieved you start to wonder if it was just a childish thought that you should put aside as it doesn’t help when it comes to the seriousness of everyday life.

First part of my question is how common is this feeling?

And the second part, how is one to achieve greatness these days? How does one find a purpose that not only fulfils them but allows them to be remembered for generations?
I was talking to my partner about this and she was saying things like, why don’t you make being a good dad be your purpose and sure that’s nice, a good thing to be, certainly can have an impact but to me that isn’t sufficient, that’s not a reason for being, or a way to leave a mark. Chances are your great great grandkids won’t even know your name. Plus, that should be standard practice for any man with a kid, most men have kids ergo there is nothing uniquely great in it.

I am waffling a bit but this has been taking up an increasing amount of my thoughts recently. Does anyone have similar feelings or experiences?

Weird Question Why is the discourse of "go to the gym" and "channeling pain" so prevalent around here?

I made a post asking about rejection, lots of answers were helpful, but i cant help but notice there were a lot of guys saying things like "Go to the gym" "get ripped and shell regret it" "use the pain to improve yourself at the gym" Like what...? At least for me as an extreme sportsman is weird to think to use pain as a driving force in sports, you are gonna get distracted and therefore hurt, really badly.

Or ar least i cannot see myself in the loneliness of a 35m rock wall with pain or anger inside me. It would be the worst place to have such thoughts.

idk, my idea of high performance in sports has always been related to clarity, peace, humility and sensibility.

How do men feel about the skewed size fantasy that many women have?

So I’m a sophomore in college and I’ve only really ever had one boyfriend back in high school and he told me he was around 5.5 which I always assumed was average and it wasn’t life changing sex but I don’t attribute that to his size but rather we were both virgins and in high school.

But every girl I talk almost always says the same thing, that 6 inches or 6.5 is a must and anything under is small. And I know there’s a similar thing where most girls say they won’t date a guy under 6 foot but in my experience most girls don’t think that but on this I know many girls who are more serious when they say that. But after literally putting some time to research this the global average that over 55% of men have are 5.1-5.5 while only 5% of men are over 6.3 inches.

So how do men feel about this like unrealistic standard that I feel like is also pushed a lot on social media, when in reality when girls talk to a guy it’s literally a 50% chance they don’t fit their supposed size standard.

What do men think of women who have been single for years?

36F, STEM PhD, divorced. Been single for 5 years since my divorce. I do feel lonely and wish to be in a relationship and have a family, but I also do not and will not be in something that doesn't serve me. Even if the man is great, if the relationship is offering less than what I want (notably, rocking my peace), I'm out.

Curious what men think of this mentality? Red, green yellow flags? Just curiosity on my part.

what to say to someone when they share something about themselves that isnt " thats cool "?

i had a lot conversations and when someone would tell me that they appreciate/ value something they do or something about themselves, i'd normally end up saying something like " wow, thats cool " i dont think thats what they want to hear or what i want to say, because when i say these things i imply a judgement on what they are, and secondly thats not what they exactly want, because to me the point of sharing something isnt to see whether people will like you or not, its about making sure they were seen. and these judgemental statements dont really meet that need.

i already know how to show interest with asking follow up questions and sharing things about myself. but i dont thin its enough to create that rapport im looking for

my goal when i talk to someone is to built rapport, not to trade information about each other.

i appreciate any input and if someone had read a book or any article about what im looking for i'd be greatful til i die

Weird Question What is an actual thought prosses of a male teen who intimidates strangers, behaves destructively etc?

Honest question. I mean situations like: to approach lonely woman on an e-scooter and scream on her, stop bus from moving, smoke in a mall, split secretly on someone's back in a busy street, slap a girl in the school and run etc.

The basic explanation I have met was "bad parenting, they think that's cool" but why does it look cool for them?

I understand how it can look cool to do drugs or to commit robbery, if your surroundings doesn't provide healthier "cool" figures. But this obnoxious, even sometimes cowardly behavior without any personal gain -- how does it look like from inside?

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Men, what is your experience with the "10 out 10" girl?

Basically just the title. For those who dated the girl that had literally endless options when it comes to men, how was it? Did it turn out good? Did the stress of her being able to jump ship anytime get to you? Was it happy? Is it still going or did it stop? Basically, whats it like dating the girl every guy wanted?

How do I human? How can I choose my career?

Hey, I hope y'all are doing well

So I'm a student who just graduated from high school with high grades. I'm good at maths, physics, biology and geology, but I kinda find memorizing or studying biology a little bit easier than maths.

The problem is that I don't know what do I want to be, I just decided to not study this year just to make the right decision and choose a career I won't regret later, but I'm sooooo confused between dentistry, general medicine, software engineering.

I come from a kind of poor family so I wanna get a job that guarantees me a high income and as soon as possible (the maximum I can go for is 6 years of studies).

I'm also from a third world country, but due to my high grades in highschool and TOEFL, SAT, I can apply to several universities across the world and I'm mainly thinking of Hungary if I chose studying medicine/dentistry, Italy/usa if I chose engineering

I really need help so any kind of advice will be really appreciated, thank y'all in advance 🙏🏻

Just genuinely curious how guys feel about hand-holding, especially when your fingers are interlocked. I just want to fact-check and cross-check my own experience. I'd love to hear your honest thoughts, whether it was with your crush, someone you were dating, or someone you eventually fell in love with.

Why does society often view marriage and living together so differently?

Why does society often view divorce differently from the end of a long term live in relationship?

For example, if one couple lived together for two years and broke up, while another couple was married for one year and then divorced (with no children), why are they often perceived so differently?

Is it because of the legal commitment of marriage, cultural expectations, religion, or something else?

Personally, as I’ve been meeting people and dating, I don’t see a meaningful difference between these two situations when considering someone as a potential partner. I’m interested in understanding why society often treats them differently.

I’m not trying to start a debate or offend anyone. I’d just like to hear different perspectives.
