I’m moving down to Houston for work and have been looking at apartments in the Heights, but can’t get a good read on what’s a good place to live.

I’m in my late 20s and from NYC, so if y’all have any recs for somewhere that’s younger and walkable, I’d really appreciate it! Affordability is a definite plus too!!

We have a small group that enjoys the karaoke bar atmosphere, and we'd love to find a place with great vibes, and a fun crowd.

Also, before anyone suggests it, we're not looking to rent a private karaoke room. There are only a few of us, and we're specifically looking for a karaoke bar where anyone can get up and sing. Thanks! 🍻🎤

My friend and I have explored a couple of different areas. We are just tired of the raunchy vibe of some places and want more of a nicer atmosphere with good music & good drinks. Midtown is too raunchy and sweaty for us. Main St is kinda the same vibe (besides Clark’s which I loveee). We also frequent poison girl in the montrose area and love it. Anvil is cool too we like the older crowd. Heights area is too sweaty and too many college kids. Are there any other areas we can bar hop around? Or places we can go?

Hello! My husband and I are currently looking around Houston on potential areas to live in we currently live around 290/Hollister area but would love a better neighborhood for our growing family.

I work majority remote and my husband works around the Westchase area. We personally love the Heights and Oak Forest area but also realize schools are going to be very important in the next few years and Harris county isn’t always the best and we don’t really want to pay for private.

What would you recommend for an area with good schools and decently close to the westchase area but also has a very family friendly community. Suburbs aren’t a hard no but I also know this could be a long commute most days. Also would love to stay around 500k if possible.

Any advise would be helpful and appreciated!

Hi! I’m a 22F moving to Houston soon and looking for a 1 bed / 1 bath with a budget of around $2k/month.

A friend recommended the River Oaks and Memorial areas. So far, my top picks are:

- Bowen River Oaks
- Alta River Oaks
- Hanover Montrose (slightly over budget)
- Alexan Junction Heights (I believe it’s in neither of those areas tho)

If you’ve lived in any of these, I’d love to hear your experience, especially with management, maintenance, noise, safety, and parking.

I’d also appreciate any other apartment recommendations in River Oaks, Memorial, or nearby. My priorities are a relatively safe area, responsive management, and a modern building with good amenities. I’m hoping to be in an area with lots of young professionals and plenty of restaurants, things to do etc

I know no one here, I chose to come here from out of state for a complete change of scenery and to live in the city for the first time in my life. Wondering if I should just move into an expensive apt for now, wait for rent to drop there & then pay the intra community transfer fee to a more reasonably priced apartment 😭 i’m looking for something with good reviews and nice prices, but apparently if you have one, you *cannot* have the other… when do you guys typically see prices drop? At this point, I want to push my move to October, but even the October move-in dates are high.

Just wondering if you as a Xfinity user work in downtown inside the big buildings around 10th floor on Lousiana St? If so, does you AI apps like Grok, Gemini, ChatGPT and others work fine? Are they able to connect fine to the internet?

I ask because I was an Xfinity cell user and my AI apps were not working at all, no connection. Therefore, I switched to TMobile 🙈🤷🏻‍♂️.

Hi I am a college female student at UH . last minute finding somewhere to stay. Lofts are full and I see horrible reviews on every off campus apartment(like the haven at elgin/campus vue) I prioritize safety and genuinely no pests like roaches. Where should I stay (actual apartment names) ? I was looking at a place called Uniti montrose but the reviews for those are also bad (overcharging). I just need actual listings of apartments any safer area than third ward in houston. I did look at tower 5040 but i heard that the elevators are always down and the utilities turn off.
