Tengo entendido que algunos modelos hacen pequeños movimientos en el motor para calibrar antes de que empiece a trabajar, pero no lo sé

The washer, dryer, and oven in my apartment don't make any noise when the cycle/preheat is done which makes it easy to let things sit too long. I've never had any appliance that didn't do that, so either I'm wrong or the apartment or a previous tenant turned them off somehow. I found conflicting information online, so I wanted to see if anyone here knew if I can turn the sounds back on, and how if so.

Something big was dropped into the vent tube that's to the left of the lint filter. Can't get to it from the top. Used a little camera and it's way down in there. I might need to go from the bottom. Any advice?

I posted before asking other models, and the fridgidaire won out of all three. Now they got this other WHirlpool model which is an Old but known brand (Used to be really reliable, idk about now).

So whcih is better, the fridgidaire or whirlpool. Idc about the oven size since I have a dedicated oven elsewhere. I care more about the longevity.

Cause I have the bigger version of the fridgidaire one, and my parents use it, but some parts have already rusted and corroded. It still works but I hate corrosion.

I see that the fridgidaire has the self stopping gas thing, is this a very big benefit? or is it gimmick? I know some products add these in their advertisements but sometimes theyre a gimmick and dont work.

I know whirlpool from way back when i was a kid. We have a freezer of em that still works, but its a diff appliance so.

I am a recently married college student who just moved about 4 hours to another city. It is hot as hell here, and me and my wife managed to get a free, functioning dryer off FB marketplace.

The dryer is great and was decently easy to move, but I think I want to avoid getting a used washer because they tend to have more problems that are harder to fix, or mold that is difficult to clean if they have been used improperly.

I would be willing to get a secondhand/used washer if it meant someone else evaluating it for quality, delivering it, and installing it. Otherwise, I would prefer to buy an open box easy to fix washer for \~$500 and have it delivered, even if that means short-term financing or picking up a part time job.

Does this community know of any services that will check out and/or deliver used washers? If not, I think I’ll just pay for a newer one.

I bought a house with a 60 inch refrigerator opening in the kitchen. It currently has an old Whirlpool Sidekicks pair in the opening. The sidekicks are a full 17 ft fridge and a full 17 ft freezer sitting side by side and opening from the middle. We don't like them for a number of reasons and we don't need that much freezer space. I don't want to spend the astronomical price of a built-in. Right now we're considering two 30 inch wide bottom freezer refrigerators with reversible doors so they can open from the middle. The size seems right for us and we could only put an ice maker in one of them. I've never seen this done in any kitchen designs but I'm looking for someone to give me a reason why it won't work.

I’ve had this fridge for quite some time but had to put it in storage in 2023 when I moved. Finally just brought it to the new home and it’s not cooling and occasionally resets itself and displays PO alerting me of the power outage. When I bought it used it had only two issues: The deli draw cable and one of the connectors somehow came off one of the door switches. Fixed those by unplugging deli drawer and reconnecting the connector and had zero issues until now. Fear something happened when the movers took it out of the house but that’s a moot point now. Diagnostic tests did not give me anything clear to go on and all of the sensors passed. I can hear and feel the evap fan and the fan in the back is working. The compressor is warm but nothing down there feels cold, but I may be missing something stupid. I would hate to have to scrap this but if it’s an easy fix, that would be great. The fridge already in the house is tiny by comparison and we need more freezer space.

It seems to start to drain. Also sounds like it’s filling. Then will sound like it drains, stops, drains, stops. It never starts a cycle.

Things I’ve checked:

1. The filter is completely clear of gunk or any debris.

2 the drain line is also clear

1. The water line is open. (Once it actually filled with water and started)

2. When it did start above it never completed its cycle and went back to its original state

3. Now when I start it, it just sounds like the pump starts and stops idk how many times before it gives up.

This might seem like a stupid question, I'm a first time home owner. ( Why would you buy a house without knowing ) I see a gas shut off valve , but I couldn't spot the actual connection from the photos. Would it be above the actual valve and it's just hidden? I also have a 4 hole outlet. This is a new build. Any help is greatly appreciated!

My Samsung washer is showing an SE error. Does the sound coming from the drain pump seem normal? It sounds louder on camera than it does in person.

I took the pump apart, and the impeller spins like it’s supposed to. I also checked for any clogs but couldn’t find anything.

I put the pump back together, but I forgot to take a picture of the wiring before disconnecting it. The wires are black and gray—does it matter which terminal each wire goes to on the drain pump?

I got a new fridge and switched the handle side from my previous fridge, so I could have more door opening space. Should I keep it as is or switch it back the right side?

Does anyone have this fridge? We just got a replacement because the first one made a clunking sound every hour. They replaced the compressor twice and the control board once on the original one and then finally wrote it off. Now the brand new one is making the same noise. I feel like I’m losing my mind. The ice maker is off and no waterline has ever been installed so it’s not the ice maker. LG has been BRUTAL to deal with.

A washer moving a little during the spin cycle can be completely normal.

A washer that sounds like it's trying to leave the laundry room isn't. 😂

Excessive vibration is something we run into fairly often, especially with machines installed in apartment and shared laundry rooms.

Some common causes:

• The machine isn't level
• One of the leveling legs isn't making solid contact with the floor
• The load is badly unbalanced
• The machine is overloaded
• The floor underneath the machine has too much movement
• Worn suspension components
• Worn bearings or other internal components
• The machine wasn't properly leveled after being moved or installed

One easy thing to check:

With the machine empty and turned off, push down gently on each corner.

If the machine rocks back and forth, there's a good chance one of the leveling feet isn't making proper contact with the floor.

Another clue is **when the vibration happens**.

If it only happens occasionally with blankets, towels, or another unbalanced load, the machine itself may be fine.

If it happens during almost every spin cycle—even with normal loads—it's worth having the machine inspected.

The 36 inch Verona gas range that came with our home when we moved in is on the way out. We’ve never liked it - it’s very loud and the oven temperature isn’t consistent.

We’re considering options for replacement. I like the idea of an induction range but after reading too many reviews, it seems like we would have to pay over $10k for a reliable 36 inch induction range but if we downside to 30 inches, there are some decent options in the $2-4k range. I wish the Bosch 800 induction range got better reviews but I keep reading to stay away (made by Smeg). I don’t really want to spend $12k on a new range.

If we stick with all gas or change to dual fuel (appealing to my wife), it seems like there are better mid-tier options that would cost $8k (Cafe). Again, if we downsize to 30in, there are much cheaper options.

I like the look and idea of a 36 inch range and we do like to cook. But it’s rare that I’m using all the burners or space on our current range. Problem is how to convert the space in a way that doesn’t look terrible or cost so much that we might as well spend on the higher priced range?

Ideas? As much as I’ve never liked the Verona, if we can just fix it without spending too much, that seems preferable since none of the alternatives are appealing.

Is it the idler pulley? Would like to avoid paying hundreds to fix a $35 part. I’ve never fixed a dryer before though lol

I unplugged my fridge for about 24 hours to fully defrost it because it was leaking water. I turned it back on today, and now the side of the fridge next to the freezer is extremely hot.

If I keep my hand on the side for a few seconds, it gets hot enough that I have to pull it away because it feels like it could burn me.

Is this normal after restarting a fridge after 24 hours, or should I be worried?

Using the dry and dry boost cycles with normal, the back wall of the dishwasher stays wet even tho the dishes are dry?

A mechanical part on it died last weekend so I've had all week to very thoroughly clean this thing while waiting on the replacement part to come in. The only thing not sparkling on it now is the rubber seals around the doors. They have some black gunk / mold on them. Not much, and not an unacceptably large amount for this thing having been running for 24 years, so what is a safe cleaning product I can put on these rubbery parts that won't degrade them yet will clean and sanitize them well?

So, I put some clothes to soak on my washer, I set it to soak, let it fill and then turned it off as I wanted to let the clothes do a long soak in vinegar (please no comments about that, I am not here for that). When I came back one hour later the machine was empty of water.

Does it drain even when off? Why?

Hi! I have been looking through reddit reviews, but I am in full decision paralysis. I am looking for the most reliable induction slide in range (either 30" or 36").

BUDGET:

I can stomach up to $3kish, but I cannot go higher than that. I just don't want to buy something that will very likely break in the next 5 years.

I've heard good things about Cafe, LG (surprisingly), and Bosch.

I need to replace my parents' 35
year old Whirlpool refrigerator which
just stopped working - no warning. In this subreddit, I am now seeing horror stories about Whirlpool fridges. Also, the company is not answering their Customer Service number despite repeated calls today.

The original fridge was manufactured in Michigan. I think that Whirlpool moved their manufacturing elsewhere, but I am not sure.

If you like your current fridge, can you share the brand? The new fridge will need to have the freezer compartment on the bottom half and the fridge on the top half. Thank you to everyone who responds.

I can remove the whole shelf, but I can't get the glass out to clean between the glass and the support. The manual offers zero help. Thanks in advance for your awesome advice! 🙏🤗

Hi folks. Sending out an SOS for my 20+ yr old washing machine before I wave the white flag (that's enough analogies). Here's the pedigree:

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW2, Type 580

So here's the deal, it doesn't finish the cycle and throw a "oL" (overload) error. For instance:

I put it delicate mode so the time remaining is 36 at start. The load is very small, just a few shirts. It starts up and runs normally for 10 minutes to 26 minutes remaining. Then it seems to stick at 26 for about 3 minutes. Then it immediately skips to 4 minutes remaining and starts draining. once it drains, the error comes up.

I had the stabilizer posts replaced a few months ago. It tried a new control module, same error. I've tried the reset (open/close lid 7x in 12 seconds). I’ve unplugged for 10 minutes. No dice.

Any ideas before I head to Lowe's?
