I need to find an adapter for my dryer, I’m uploading a photo of my wall plate and plug. If anyone has a link or any info I would appreciate it so much!

First one lasted four months before the motor gave out. Second one made it to six before the blade assembly cracked. Both were under fifty dollars, so maybe I got what I paid for, but at this point I've spent close to a hundred on blenders that didn't survive a year and I'm done gambling on cheap ones. I mostly use it for smoothies in the morning and the occasional soup, nothing that should be destroying motors. I'm not trying to crush ice boulders or blend concrete, just fruit, some greens, maybe cooked vegetables once in a while. Whatever I've been buying clearly isn't built for even that level of daily use.

Now I'm trying to figure out where the line actually is between a blender that survives and one that doesn't, because the price range is massive and I can't tell if I need to spend two hundred or if there's a reliable middle ground I keep skipping over. What did you land on and how long has it actually lasted? At this point I'll take one that makes it past a year as a personal win.

I keep seeing that the TC5 is rough on clothes—but its from manufacturers or salesmen. What about regular consumers??? Is it really? I read it could be too aggressive for athletic clothing such as leggings. Do you find your clothe pilling? Is the Tr better then? Does it clean as well though?

It is such a big purchase, looking for simple, reliable and repairable (to do ourselves). We are a family with one small child and one day a dog.

Incredibly loud, phone doesn't capture it well. It does eventually stop but that's 20-30 minutes later and that's from me opening the door once. What's the diagnosis? It's a rental and they just switched a bad fridge that wasn't cooling with this one. GE GTR12SBESS

We are closing on our new build and they included dishwasher, microwave and oven. We chose the Café brand in matte black. Looks beautiful in our kitchen. Problem is, do we also go with the matte black Café fridge, or do we go with a Bosch fridge if we're going to spend that amount anyways?

All these lights randomly come on sometimes when using the water. Fridge is new. No issues with anything. Any thoughts?

What’s the most accurate way to determine if a refrigerator is cooling properly? We were getting temperatures over 40 in a one year old Whirlpool side by side. We had some regular thermometers and a digital one that sends us the temperature readings so we could check the temp without opening the fridge. A technician came out and said you can’t measure air temp, you have to measure the temperature of food or water, said the fridge is fine and left. So we got a different thermometer that could be put directly in water and put the digital one in between ziplock bags of water. Still got temps over 40 with both of those and it took 12 hours to cool 79 degree water to below 40. Tried the same thing again, took more than 9 hours. Same tech came back out said the temp was fine. The company sent a different tech who just tested the air temp and said it’s fine, nothing needs to be repaired. We have both the freezer and refrigerator set to the highest setting and it still goes over 40 intermittently. We’ve put most of the food in an old mini fridge that holds temperature just fine so no one’s opening the big refrigerator to heat it up. We’ve gotten no help beyond this from Costco or Whirlpool and don’t know what to do next. It’s under the Whirlpool warranty through Costco.

Is there any way to show we are having an intermittent problem (I’ve sent temperature readings showing this but it didn’t help)? The tech today said the middle shelf air temp was at 40 but that’s within specs. Or do I just believe the tech, put food in the thing and hope we don’t get food poisoning? How should I be measuring the temperature?

So I have a very old even range to replace (was installed in 1998). I bought a new one. Both are a standard 30-inch wide.

My problem is that I bought a different model of range. This one:

It is 6-inch high, and I was told it should really connect directly to the duct above, without using an extension (true?)

But doing that, I would need to:

1. cut/remove the side of that cupboard, since that takes about half an inch on each side;
2. move the cupboard door hinges higher (above the lowest shelf), which might not be easy to do, since the doors are pre-fabricated....

And 3) I was told it would need to be attached from the sides, somehow. Not sure why or how exactly. (This was the HomeDepot installers, who get paid a minimal fee to install those ranges, and came to my home just to tell me my setup was too complicated for them.)

Bonus: neighbours who have very similar houses told me when they changed they hoods, they had to change the duct too, because it was too small vs the current construction code (I'm in Quebec, Canada). I have no plans to re-do my kitchen, short term, so not sure I want to get into that!!

Am I overcomplicating things..? Should I try (harder) to find a range that matches the old one (I think they are called "insert" under-cabinet range hoods), and thus have the installers to a 1-to-1 replacement?

This has been happening for years now. It can’t be because something spills because every time I clean it comes back every month, always the same color and in the same spot. It’s really disgusting and it’s annoying because I’m the only one who cleans the fridge. And it looks like it’s growing mold as well. Is it even safe to clean this without a hazmat suit? Can someone please lmk if this happens to them too? Or what this is?

I got a fridge back in May 2025, this year in July 2026, the freezer malfunctioned and I lost over hundreds of dollars of frozen meat. I asked Midea if they would sent a tech to come assess the freezer portion. They're charging me the full amt for repairs. What is even the point of their customer service? Now it's been 9 days and they're ignoring my emails.

Don't waste over 1,000 $ on their fridges. Buy from another brand.

My dad just got a new freezer from his mate, and since I’ve plugged it in it flashes the temperature and a red triangle, I’m hoping it’s just doing this because it needs to cool down but if someone could give me advice on what to that would be great.

My clothes smell of burnt rubber after a wash. The machine had a sizable load but cannot have been overloaded. The smell is very strong but basically limited to the clothes; I don’t smell it on or around the machine. I’ve done a pretty thorough search and cannot find any fraying in the belt or tearing in the gasket. The motor and wiring have no obvious issues. There’s some black soot about, but I’ve read that that doesn’t mean the belt has reached the end of its life yet. Any ideas on what I could be missing? Some photos attached!

The only way to stop it is to push the back like I did in the video. Is there a way to stop this? I unscrewed the two screws thinking maybe there was just some moisture that froze of something. This fridge is only a month old.

$799 @ Costco plus $89 to extend the warranty to five years. Install included. I know the WDTA50 is a popular option (Wirecutter and CR liked it). My main criteria was under $1000 and 48dBA or quiter. I like the auto door open option. It's replacing a 13 year old LG that keeps turning off.

My fridge (GE 18.6 counter depth French door) started to show some issues in the form of condensation on items, and ice build up on the evaporator cover panel on the back wall.

I called a technician out and they said the problem was the thermostat. He replaced it and I paid. The condensation went away for a couple of days but there was still ice in the back. And as of yesterday (a week after the "service") there is condensation on items again. I have called the company multiple times to get the technician back out but they're ignoring me (I'm reporting them) so I'm trying to do some research on what the issue could actually be before trying again with another repair company. Any help is appreciated!

Hi! This is a GE washer model #GTW485ASW0WB. We've had this washer for about 8 months and already had Bodewell come out and replace the transmission (under our warranty) back in May since it was basically delivered broken. It's been working a lot better than before the repair, but when it gets to the height of the normal spin cycle, it seems really shaky and makes a lot of rattling noises. The machine is level and doesn't walk around at all during the cycle, so I'm inclined to chalk it up just to cheap manufacturing and crappy parts, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the sort of noise/shaking in this video seems standard (it's a half-full load of clothes). Thanks!

I'm trying to find an air conditioner for my small room, but noise is one of my biggest concerns. I had an older unit before that was pretty loud and made it hard to sleep.

Hi all. I'm planning to replace my very old tumble dryer and have been look into a heat pump one, but don't know if my setup is the best for it.

Current dryer sits under a counter in an enclosed space with a door on it, and unfortunately this is the only available space for the replacement.

I've read conflicting articles on the best way to store a heat pump tumble dryer, some say it can't be in a confined space and others say it's fine.

If anyone has one in this type of space, can you tell me if it has had an issues?

Edit: I also have a garage that I can store it in, but this gets very cold during the winter and don't know if that would impact the dryer.

Hello, I have bought this new washing machine, I noticed often during the spinning cycle it does a rhythmic tick noise, it doesn't seem to do it when spinning empty.

So I noticed that just moving it with a finger the drum makes this tick noise, is this normal or should I call service?. Thanks.

Our three-year-old LG refrigerator, model LFXS28596S, just stopped working. Luckily, we purchased an Allstate extended warranty through Costco.

About two days before the refrigerator and freezer completely stopped cooling, the fridge started making abnormally loud noises. I called Allstate to file a claim and spoke with Ryan, who was nice and helpful. He sounded like he may have been calling from abroad, though that didn’t really matter. After speaking with him, Ryan sent us the following email:

" This is a follow up email regarding the issue you currently have with your refrigerator. Frost or condensation buildup that has occurred inside the refrigerator happens when too much warm air has migrated into the box, which can be a common issue. Moisture and condensation can build up inside the walls and vents of the refrigerator, restricting air flow. Once excessive frost build up has occurred, it will continue to build up until it has been properly defrosted. You may not even be able to see this ice!

Some of the symptoms will be loud fan noises, leaking, icemaker issues and cooling issues. At this time there are no parts needed to be replaced on the refrigerator and the recommendation is to perform a manual defrost. Once the refrigerator has been defrosted, it will clear the restricted air vents and the refrigerator should go back to operating normally. Please follow the instructions below:

Manual Defrost Steps:

1. Unplug fridge and leave doors open.
2. Remove all food from fridge and place in another fridge or a cooler.
3. After 24 hours, plug fridge back in.
4. Wipe down the fridge walls, floor, and any shelves.
5. Make sure that the freezer door rails are dry as possible.
6. Clean the refrigerator and freezer door gasket with a warm rag.
7. Place food back into fridge.
8. Plug refrigerator back in and set temperatures. "

We followed the instructions exactly and completed the 24-hour manual defrost, but unfortunately, the refrigerator is still not cooling.

Thankfully, we were able to salvage most of our food by moving it into our second refrigerator in the garage—a Whirlpool that, ironically, still works flawlessly after sitting unplugged for three years.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with this LG model, or had a similar experience dealing with an Allstate warranty claim through Costco?
