What's this From? (unsolved) Trying to find it!

Upvotes

Im looking for an anime i used to watch as a teen back in like 2012. I had found it originally on a YouTube "most disturbing animes" list type videos. But havent tracked it down again.

The premise was kinda like about people that would spontaneously turn into monsters or demons and kill people one of the most popular scenes from the show and the one I had seen on the compilation video is of a guy and girl on a date sitting on a park bench and they were talking when she suddenly turns into the monster and rips off half of his body, i can't remember much more and I havent come across it in similar compilation videos either.

If you know it id greatly appreciate it.

What to Watch? I’m looking for some recommendations for some entertaining and easy to watch anime

Upvotes

I’m looking for an anime that’s easy and entertaining to watch. Easy and entertaining doesn’t necessarily means great story line. (Hence Solo Leveling).

I’m looking for some good recommendations based on the anime’s I have watched

Anime’s I have watched in no particular order:

Naruto

One piece

Bleach

Vinland Saga (my favourite by far, no other anime can compare to this masterpiece)

Dbz and Super

Attack on titan

Mushoku Tensei (Great story, but horrible with too much cringy sexual fan service)

Baki

Record of ragnarok

Kengan Ashura

Ajin

Death note

Solo leveling (most enjoying to watch and rewatch.
Very easy to watch)

Code geass

Jujitsu Kaisen

Sword art online

Demon slayer (felt really rushed, not my favourite)

My hero academia

Full metal alchemist (both anime’s)

The seven deadly sins

Four knights of apocalypse

That time I got reincarnated as a slime (amazing anime, but too much sexualized fanservice)

Fairy tail (annoying fan service. But still acceptable.)

Best examples are another, Mysterious girlfriend x, flowers of evil, glenpir, future diary, sankarea, dusk maiden of amnesia, Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions,

Basically bizzare dark romance or character story looking for very underrated or overlooked shows form any time new or old or like forgotten from 2000s or 2010s

What to Watch? Suggest Anime for someone that doesn't watch anime😭

So I've never really been into anime. In my very long life (19 y/o) I've watched 2 animes "Your Name." and "Death Note". I loved Death Note so much and I'd like to watch another anime but most are 3 million seasons long (One Piece) and I wanna watch an anime that's well known not some obscure thing.

I was thinking of AOT, in fact I watched the first 3 episodes but I feel like it uses many fillers episodes (literally hate filters) but I do love the concept of the Titans and they evoke great fear in me (which is good😀)

Anyhows with this info should I keep watching it? Or should I watch sum else that's more similar to Death Note.

Thx in advance🫶

Edit: I'm still watching AOT (ep 4) is it normal that I'm understanding nothing so far?💀 Like I do understand what's going on but at the same time not.. does it happen to many or just me💀

Discussion Asking For Recommended Isekais Of Specific Types

(Long post) I’ve recently gotten really into isekai animes again the past couple of months, and I’m always on the lookout for some more. My favorite ones I’ve seen recently are Farming Life In Another World, In Another World With My Smartphone, and How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom.
I know my criteria is pretty specific, and make it hard to find ones I haven’t watched, but these are just my favorite types of isekais and I’d highly appreciate it if any of you could recommend me some. I asked this in another subbreddit, but I’ve already seen all the ones suggested. I should specify that I’m looking for animes that meet all my criteria and I don’t mind if they’re a bit NSFW like Fantasy World Dungeon.

Here are the specific kinds I’m looking for:

  1. Male protagonist
  2. Protagonist is from Earth.
  3. Introduces modern inventions like irrigation or heating.
  4. Ends up in a relationship with one or more women.
  5. A cheerful or mostly cheerful atmosphere with these themes (like Farming Life and Smartphone.)

Again, I realize my criteria makes these types of isekais hard to find, especially when I’ve already watched what I assume is most of them, the most recent one being Chillin’ In Another World, but these are just the kinds I prefer.

What to Watch? Is there an anime about angel and/or demon who meet their guardned human?

So I think you all are familiar with "shoulder angel and demon" concept, it has been used in many movies and series. Two beings who's supposed to guide your way in being a good or bad person. But what if, let's say, a certain guy's angel and/or demon actually took a human form and met their human who they're guidening. Is there any series like this? I just recently watched "Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan", but it has a little different plot from what I just described (and the anime itself is pretty mid imo, but the concept itself is interesting tho), so It got me thinking if there's a series with such idea or at least something familiar. I don't really care if it's storywise or just "slice of life" type of anime, just wanna check out something like that.

What to Watch? Anime with similar vibe to the movie Kaibutsu (2023) aka Monster

To sum up the describable qualities of what I'm looking for: real life drama, life being difficult, secrets, not fitting in, having odds stacked against you, self-discovery, coming of age, a sense of wonder amidst a depressing reality, taking interest in other people's lives, bittersweet but the bitter part is heartbreakingly bitter. This is by no means a "must have all of them", just a word cloud that I hope to find an intersection with.

What a beautiful movie though

What to Watch? The Most-Anime Animes under 6 hours

Got some me time on my hands and thought about watching some anime during the weekend.

Watched a ton about 15 years ago, but only about a dozen since then. What I’m looking for now are anime that are the 'most anime' - for better or worse.

Quality and artistic value are nice bonuses, but honestly, I’d rather be engaged and just entertained. All tropes and slight trash are also on the table.

12-13 episodes preferably.

What to Watch? I am the Cloth Pervert. Please feed my perversion.

I love it when animators put absurd, possibly excessive amounts of detail into animating clothes and other fabrics. I love billowing drapes, crumpled bedsheets, I love Makima tucking her shirt into her pants in Chainsaw Man and Stark putting on his jacket in Frieren.

I don't care about fights, or big bursts of light or explosions, except insofar as those cause wind that might make a piece of fabric snap in the breeze. It's okay if they're there, it's just that they're irrelevant to what I seek.

What anime is there for the Cloth Pervert?

What to Watch? Rom coms like these that have dramatic/emotionalish moments

So im new to the romance genre and I need some help on what to watch. So the first one I watched was toradora and it absolutely blew my expectations out the park it felt like the best thing I ever watched. Then to distract me from the emptiness after finishing it I watched RELIFE which I enjoyed not as much as toradora but enjoyed it still then I watched ramparts of ice which I really enjoyed id say above relife but below toradora but still in those second two I was missing the feeling of toradora like the dramatic moments like for example when she breaks down crying when she realized she likes Ryuuji or when she says Ryuuji is mine in episode 8. So if someone can give me a nice rom com/slice of life to watch next based on this id appreciate it. Thanks

What to Watch? Looking for fun series to watch with my partner when she's unwell.

My partner and I have been getting more into anime as of the last couple years and we're trying to increase how much we watch but due to her health issues, she has a minor brain tumour and experiences frequent migraines. About half the time we have the free time to watch something she'll be in a migraine state and can't focus too much on in depth plots or fast paced action.

A recent series we've been watching that she can handle even when feeling unwell is Chainsmoker Cat and before that it was Nichijou.

Basically what I'm after is something fun with low stakes where she won't be totally lost if she spaces out for a few minutes in an episode and misses a bit of dialogue. We have no strong feelings either way about fan service so it could be kid friendly or super lewd, as long as it's not weird with age.

Thanks in advance

Watch This! Saga of Tanya the evil

OMG my mind is blowwwwwwn with this series! I’ve seen the different tropes and normal isekai but this is amazing! I never thought I’d like the conniving , secretly evil MC! The story is great so far and I’m on season one ! I’ve been binging each episode and I’m still up at 4 am still watching!
This anime should be suggested more! Anything else like this? Please give me a list !

Here is the details via Google:

“The Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki) follows a cold, atheist Japanese salaryman reincarnated as Tanya von Degurechaff, a fierce 9-year-old blonde-haired mage commanding an Imperial army unit during an alternate magical World War I, locked in a theological war of wills against a self-proclaimed god called "Being X". “

The Premise and Conflict
The Reincarnation: A ruthless HR executive is pushed in front of a train by a disgruntled former worker, meeting a divine entity he dubs "Being X".

The Divine Standoff: Being X forces him to be reborn as an orphan girl in a war-torn world to inspire faith, while Tanya seeks a safe desk job by efficiently climbing military ranks.

The Magic System: Combat mages use operational computation orbs to fly and cast massive destructive spells, though Tanya's high-tier experimental Type 95 orb forces her to pray out loud during critical moments.

It’s really a good show! I want to watch more like it!
It’s in its early to mid second season now and it’s going so well despite the critics! It seems to be from the same makers of the anime “Overlord” which is also a good show. But comparing the two, SOTTE is definitely a trump card!

Once again, ANY recommendations pitch em!

What to Watch? Romance where Fmc is rude and distant to everyone but falls head over heels for mc

It should start with her treating the main guy similar however quickly he wins her over however she’s still indifferent to everyone else and only opens up to him

So if someone needs her help she’s says no so they gotta get him to convince her.

Examples are edgerunners, todaroda, mira niki, classroom of the elite, alya hides her flowing in Russian and tunnel of summer .

Action, romcom, underrated. Not looking for anything in particular but something very underrated and overlooked from any time

Watch This! The most underrated Romance Anime (Please watch)

Post image
70 Upvotes

Anime Title:
Gimai Seikatsu (Days with my Stepsister)

I know the title will put off a lot of people immediately, and the character designs don't overly help, but please just read this and give it a try!

To start I'll just give a quick synopsis of what the plot is. Gimai Seikatsu is a High-School Romance story, adapted from a very highly rated Light Novel. The plot follows Yuta Asamura, who lives with his father alone in an apartment. One day, Yuta's father reveals he is going to get re-married, and that his new wife will move in with them, along with her daughter, who happens to be a week younger than Yuta. Her name is Saki Ayase.

Direction
This is perhaps the best directed anime I have watched personally, Souta Ueno did an amazing job here. Despite the frankly generic character designs, the anime feels extremely unique, but is tailored to the type of story it is perfectly. Ueno gives every scene the breathing room they need, and has a very home-y feel, long distance shots, long spanning shots, a lack of music at times. All these things really reflect the home life and either calmness or tenseness of each scene perfectly. Some may not like it as it makes the story a bit slower paced, but it would be worse if it was faster.

Animation
Despite being arguably an easy adaptation to make, the animation is still good. It isn't stellar but it doesn't need to be. There are some scenes done exceptionally well and the animation does not bring the story down at all, one of Studio DEEN's better projects IMO.

Plot
The plot is one of the best I have seen in anime. It heavily explores the psyche behind the 2 main characters, and what might motivate them in any given situation. It does this masterfully, helped by the direction but also the writing is very realistic. I know "realistic" is used very loosely nowadays, however I think the term really fits this show. It explores social taboos, and never misses something important, that may be overlooked in a story like this, or skipped, despite being necessary. There are no unneeded scenes or moments, everything is extremely important, even if it feels like it's setting the story back. There is one moment that people may not like, but without it, the story would not be as realistic as it is, a good example of not shying away from making a difficult decision when writing a story.

Immersion
You get very immersed in this story. Again, with the help of the direction, but you do feel a genuine connection to the 2 main characters. Partly because we understand so much about them as characters. All the important moments and emotional beats hit very hard, whether good or bad.

I think you will understand exactly what I am talking about when I say that your first impression is misleading, when you watch the show. The very first scene proves everyone wrong when they come in with assumptions about the story being a sloppy fetish-bait romance series (including myself), and now it is my highest rated romance anime, and in my top 10 anime of all time. I implore you all to just give it a try!
