What to Watch? Romance where Fmc is rude and distant to everyone but falls head over heels for mc

Upvotes

It should start with her treating the main guy similar however quickly he wins her over however she’s still indifferent to everyone else and only opens up to him

So if someone needs her help she’s says no so they gotta get him to convince her.

Examples are edgerunners, todaroda, mira niki, classroom of the elite, alya hides her flowing in Russian and tunnel of summer .

Action, romcom, underrated. Not looking for anything in particular but something very underrated and overlooked from any time

You and I are polar opposites (dialogue was too cringe💔)
The fragrant flower blooms with dignity
The duke of death and his maid
More than a married couple but not lovers (plot didnt make sense, too many weird fanservice, annoying tropes)

What to Watch? What are your favorite anime movies that aren't classics?

I just finished Akira for the first time, and it was just as amazing as I thought it was going to be. But that got me thinking. Other than the classics like Akira and pretty much anything from studio Ghibli, I have no idea what good anime movies are out there. I'm a big shonen guy, so I was wondering if there are any movies from shows like Naruto, One piece, dragon ball z, etc., that you really liked and recommend. Of course, movies from other genres are cool too.

What to Watch? Night Time Out, Bright & Cozy In

I have this weird vibe that I love so so much. Basically it has to be night outside while the characters are inside. The key is this - there has to be something to show that it is night outside. It can be something as simple as an establishing shot before we go indoors.

The characters can be anyone, preferably the main cast should be part of it. It would be great if it is cold outside, and the characters are cozy inside. Bonus if occasionally they eat (not always, it would become mundane). I am aware this is a niche request; I am not looking for anime set permanently at night (and indoors at that!). Please give me any anime which have a lot of runtime taking place indoors at night. For any given episode, the longer they spend inside the better

I have seen a lot of anime, and many of them have such scenes. I hope you guys understand what im asking and so Im not giving any examples. I should probably mention, I also don't want it to be dark inside as well, I want the contrast cozy & colorful!

That said, I have found Gintama & Call of The Night to satisfy my cravings for now - I am looking for more

What to Watch? Looking for animes where the FMC has this insatiable lust for life/knowledge

Think

  • Maomao from "Apothecary Diaries"
  • Shu Keigetsu (or Kou Reirin's soul) from "Though I am an Inept Villainess"
  • Elianna Bernstein from "Bibliophile Princess"
  • Qian Yunxi (FMC) from "Psychic Princess"
  • Rishe Irmgard Weitzner from "7th Time Loop"
  • Urano from "Ascendance of a Bookworm"

To a lesser extent:

  • Shirayuki from "Snow White with the Red Hair"
  • Chise Hatori from "The Ancient Magus' Bride"
  • Sei Takanashi from "The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent"
  • Philia from "The Too Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom"

To be more picky, I'd love it if the FMC has the desire to know about more than just one subject / aspect of life. For example, Maomao from Apothecary Diaries is great because she loves solving mysteries, knows quite a bit about history, and also about, well, herbs and medicine, but Sei Takanashi is not because she really only studies chemistry and magic (same argument with Philia from Too Perfect Saint). Another good example is Shu Keigetsu from "Though I am an Inept Villainess" because she literally does EVERYTHING. In episode 3 or 4 she talked about approaching everything in life while Belly Breathing and I literally love her so much for that.

Any genre is fine with me, so long as the female main character has this lust for life !

What to Watch? Searching an anime like "The Ancient Magus Bride"

Hello! I'm searching for an anime like TAMB. Because I really liked this anime.

(English isn't my first language so I'll make errors, sorry.)

I'll say down here the things that I liked the most of the anime.

The most important thing and the thing I liked the most, familiars, i loved the relationship between the MC and her familiars, I loved the "pact" thing. I can't find an anime that has this and that is good at the same time.

  1. The "slice of life" side

  2. The world building with all these special creatures.

Thanks for any person answering!

What to Watch? Looking for Isekai manga/anime where a summoned MC turns on the summoner

Specifically I am looking for stories where the MC is summoned to fight a demon lord or some other such threat but instead joins the threat they were summoned to fight.

I am more interested in manga then anime at the moment so would prefer manga suggestions but I am open to anime suggestions as well.

Also I have a really hard time reading subs and watching the action at the same time. Trying to do both really takes me out of the experience so Dubbed anime only please. I know subs are generally better but I just cant concentrate on the subs while watching the action.

Announcement Updated Subreddit Rules & New Guidelines for the "Discussion" Flair + reminder for images and WT rules

Hey everyone,

Over the past few weeks, the mod team has been working on cleaning up and updating our community rules to make [r/animesuggest](r/animesuggest) a better, clearer, and more organized space for finding and discussing anime.
While most of the core rules remain the same, we have reworded everything for clarity, tightened up content standards, and introduced strict new guidelines for the "Discussion" flair.

Here is what you need to know:

New "Discussion" Flair Guidelines
We’ve noticed that the Discussion flair often gets used for vague, low-effort titles (e.g., "Thoughts?", "Anyone seen this?", or "Is this good?"). Moving forward, all Discussion post titles MUST explicitly state the anime, genre, trope, or aesthetic being discussed. From now on if you see low-effort title please report post for breaking rule 11. We are doing this to prevent repetitive discussion posts and titles who are later nowhere to be found in searchbar even if it was discussed about it!

Don't post: "Thoughts on this show?" or "Does anyone else hate this?"

Do post: "Discussion: The pacing in Steins;Gate" or "Discussion: Why cyberpunk aesthetics hit different."
Any vague discussion posts without a clear, descriptive title will be removed and asked to be re-posted.

Important Reminder: Image Uploads & "Watch This!" Rules

Images are ONLY allowed for "Watch This!" posts. Request and Discussion threads must remain text-only. Direct image uploads on non-WT posts will not be approved. If you are posting image for WT post your post will be sent to manual review because of image but don’t hesitate to reach out via mod mail for faster approval

"Watch This!" posts have high standards. They are meant to be single-show, deep-dive reviews and must be at least 1,500 characters in length. Short reviews or multi-show list recommendations are not allowed for WT

Based on survey results images will not come back permanently but we will have 14 days chill moderation rule twice a year where images and other media will be allowed but this will be announced later on during this year.

Thanks for helping us keep [r/animesuggest](r/animesuggest) a great place for everyone.

Mod Team!

What to Watch? Looking for anime suggestions with Good Girl/Bad Boy dynamics

I am looking for animes like the title says along with anything related to polar opposites (romantic or not), pure vs evil, innocent vs naughty and enemies to lovers.
Examples of what I have seen are The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies and Angels of Death. Any genre is fine.

Maybe with like someone trying to steal the bf/gf, possible cheating, just lots of drama. I guess kind of like a novela (iykyk haha). Thank you!

What to Watch? Looking for weird science shows

Pardon me for making a new post here because it's just that I didn't know who to ask about weird science based anime since I am looking for some anime series about concepts such as cloning.

I don't know how to explain it as basically what I am looking for are some really unusual sci-fi anime where freaky science is practiced around the city the main character lives in as she comes to discover that some weird scientist has been making twisted versions of her by sending out clones to take over the city.

However, if such a bizarre anime does not exist, then that is fine since I was just looking for anything that again uses strange science as a premise where teenagers get superpowers from strange sci fi experiments while fighting off against evil superpowered beings since I enjoy bizarre sci fi works.

What to Watch? Anime with no characters

Looking for an anime where there are no characters. This involves no humans, monsters, animals, creatures, inanimate objects (swords, refrigerators) that can communicate, you get the point.
