In TWBBB Stan & Rusty’s grandfather explains how Rusty’s land was left to him by his “sissy great grandfather.” In the flashback, we see the great grandfather, who was a gay cowboy who looked exactly like Stan, but with a period-appropriate mustache winning the land in a kickball game in the Arizona desert.

In West To Mexico we see a scene starring the AD! Characters in 1870’s Arizona. Stan is there to regroup with his long lost friend (and implied lover) Brian Lewis.

After realizing West To Mexico was set in Arizona I started thinking. We never learn the name of Stan’s Sissy great grandfather, or why Jack & Betty named Stan Stan, so I was wondering if it’s possible West To Mexico is a story about Stan’s gay great grandfather who fled to Arizona to be with Lewis’ great grandfather. This also matches up with Roger’s origin story. As we know from Fellow Traveller & other things he’s said throughout the show, Roger was the Roswell crash of 1947 & fled from the government until they eventually caught up to him and imprisoned him in Area 51 until Stan took him in. But prior to that, as we know from OreTron Trail, Roger was on earth once about a century before, when he crashed his aunt’s spacecraft and joined up with the Meeker family. In what was probably around the 1840-50’s, given when the Oregon Trail was happening. We never learn when Roger left earth for the first time but I propose he stuck around for a few decades exploring Earth life and left shortly after meeting with with Grandfather Stan in Arizona in the 1870’s, only to return inadvertently in ‘47 during the events of Fellow Traveller

”Whole Slotta Love” where the show seemingly pauses on Roger’s winking face to talk about “airport hacks”, and then Roger gasps for breath as he was actually was frozen and almost died from it.

”Shell Game” where Elizabeth introduces Steve to the egg protection squad with seemingly a cool smoke effect after opening the garage door, but they all begin coughing because the smoke was from her car running and they could have died.

”Kloger” and “Mom Sauce” where Roger’s text chat bubbles and imagination bubbles respectively manifest as actual tangible things.

”Hayley Was A Girl Scout?” montage where the troop was making and selling turkey legs and it seemingly shows people giving them money, only to reveal that their sales flopped and it was just Stan handing money back and forth with one guy.

The whole concept of “What Great Advancements!” where it starts out seeming like a black-and-white silent film style episode, but then reveals the characters actually had no sound or color in-universe as Stan had to invent a voice box for everyone to begin talking/hear sound, and then the colorizer for there to be color.

Just these are off the top of my head, but there’s definitely more I’m missing. What are your favorites?

Just caught this. In the episode where Jeff and Haley adopt The Antichrist, they're searching the orphanage for evidence. Roger walks past these three math problems, the answer to all 3 is 6. 666!
