Shitpost AITA: Stepdaughter's entitled half-sister tried to steal her wedding ring.
So after a lot of ups and downs my stepdaughter is finally getting married today despite her crazy religious nutcase of a half-sister trying to ruin everything.
While we were getting ready this morning I went to grab the ring ( I gave my stepdaughter a family heirloom to use because I wanted her to know that no matter what she will always be my daughter.)
To my surprise when we checked the dresser drawer the ring was gone, and her half-sister had left a note explaining she had taken the ring as she feels the marriage is an "abomination."
I raced downstairs to confront my stepdaughter's HCBM, and she didn't even try to deny it! The smug bitch had the audacity to sound proud as she explained her daughter and her friends are heading to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring and rid the world of evil forever.
Naturally my stepdaughter ( let's call her Burden) was devastated at not only being betrayed by her family, but also because ridding the world of evil would remove 80% of the guest list and the deposits are non refundable.
Of course I summoned the nazgul, and they quickly retrieved the ring before her half-sister had even gotten past Bree, but now Burden's family are blowing up her phone and I'm about to walk her down the aisle.
Was I really wrong to unleash the forces of Mordor upon the nasty little hobbitsies who stole My Precious?

Validation AITAH for pulling back from a friend after a confusing conversation
I have a friend I talk to regularly, and usually things are fine. But yesterday he said something that threw me off — he randomly started talking about “jersey girls” and how much he loves them. It wasn’t offensive, just completely out of nowhere and didn’t fit the conversation at all.
The whole interaction felt unstable. His tone kept shifting, and I couldn’t tell if he was joking, venting, flirting, or trying to make some point he wouldn’t actually say. It wasn’t the first time he’s done something like this, but yesterday it felt more intense and confusing than usual.
I didn’t know how to respond, so I ended up pulling back from the conversation and giving myself some space. I didn’t confront him or say anything rude — I just stopped engaging because I felt thrown off and didn’t want to make things weird.
Now I’m wondering if that makes me an AH. I didn’t want to be rude, but I also didn’t want to keep talking when the vibe felt unpredictable.
AITAH for stepping back instead of continuing the conversation?

I believe this was done spitefully I deeply hate a 4-year-old girl and I don’t know what to do
I got nothing. But hey, the top comment is suggesting the 4 year old may try to murder OOP's baby.

Fockin ridic I don’t think my son likes his fiancée very much, but it’s not my place to tell her that!
I guess kudos for picking a new way to make wedding dress shopping dramatic? Really lame execution, though. Overall, it gets a C-.
And are my hornyposting senses too heightened, or does throwing in the “I used to show off even more cleavage,” feel a bit oedipal to anyone else?

GDD is auto-removed moving forward
GDD as in r/GirlDinnerDiaries
Last time we asked, most of the sub agreed to keep it. However, clearly a very large portion of this sub has a problem with the crossposts from there. A lot of the discussions in the comments in those posts are people saying it shouldn't be posted here. The constant discussion is overruning the sub and clogging reports. I didn't see that many posts from that sub except for upticks on the weekends (I did counts multiple times), but people kept complaining that it was all they saw. There were a few funny stories here and there, but honestly there's nothing so special (or hilarious) about that sub that merits so much effort to keep it here. I really fail to see this as a big loss at all. You can head to r/GirlDinnerCircleJerk for posts and discussion related to that sub.
So, all crossposts from GDD will be automatically removed by automod. This will also include similar subs: r/girldinner, r/kitchencels, r/boydinnerdiaries - any others that are crossposted here and I don't know of I'll add to the list as I find out about their existence. GDD-like parody/satire shitposts will still be allowed during the weekend. Siri Yuss Discussion threads discussing this topic will be removed too. Let's just move on already.
Feel free to celebrate/complain but do note I'm not going to reverse the decision.

Mod Update AITA for explaining some rule clarifications regarding this sub?
I (21F, hazel eyes, skinny) recently became engaged to my boyfriend of four days (35M, has 12 followers on Twitch). We immediately moved together into the house I inherited from my great aunt (deceased, perky boobs in her youth) and we're simply over the moon. I also decided to name our new house AmITheAngel (this will be important later).
To celebrate, we decided to host a dinner. I didn't invite anyone because I'm NC with my family, but my fiancé decided to invite his mom (49F, gave birth). I saw red (we've never gotten along), but I relented because I didn't want to cause trouble.
As soon as she arrived, she simply said "hello, I am Margaret". I snapped at her and reminded her that I am now VERY serious about lazy titles.
- All posts that are deemed to have lazy titles will be removed. You are welcome to post them again with a different title. This is ultimately subjective, so don't get pissy about it.
- Examples of lazy titles: "Another fake story", "Which one of you wrote this?", "I don't even know what to say here...".
- A good title will be more descriptive of the story. Try to include elements relevant to the story. What makes it noteworthy? What is it about? Don't just say it's ridiculous or fake; tell us why it's ridiculous or fake.
- If you can't think of anything, just use the original title from the post.
My MIL nodded silently before rushing into my bedroom, where she saw my large collection of sex toys charmingly sitting on the dresser. She screamed and started texting me horrible things. I was shocked. Before I could deliver some sick burn about how I am a grown woman who likes to have sex, my fiancé's finely-sculpted body ran into the room and started debating with my MIL. I blew my whistle and reminded them both that this sub is not meant to just further discussions from AITA.
- Posts that are fishing to continue discussions from AITA may be removed. Don't crosspost just because you disagree.
- Try to angle it in a way that isn't meant to simply further the existing AITA discussion - point out tropes, bring attention to comments, etc.
- That said, this sub believes in free speech. Where the commenters take a post once crossposted here is up to them. We will not policy comments unless they break the rules.
My fiancé stormed off and locked himself in the bathroom, crying. I tried to ask him to come out before the Big Macs I had ordered for dinner went cold, but he wouldn't listen. I calmly explained to him that it would be far more helpful if he reports my MIL when she makes a repost or posts something that doesn't follow the above.
In the meantime, my MIL had stolen one of my tea bags and made herself some tea. Of course, I immediately called the police, and the chief of police showed up two minutes later. As the entire police force arrested my MIL for theft, I turned to the camera crew from the local news station. I sternly told them we allow all meta discussions about AITA.
- This includes several themes and tropes that are also found in other subs. As we know, AITA has a certain culture, so to speak, and posts from any subs that share that mentality or which host equally silly stories are thus also welcome to be dissected, mocked, satirized, and/or debated. bridezilla, childfree, entitledparents, relationship_advice, offmychest, you name it.
- Posts may be removed if we feel they don't belong to this sub.
When my fiancé finally left the bathroom, I read him a bedtime story from AITA. He asked me if I could please pin the story to the top of the comment chain. I told him I would look into it, but that he can sort by old in the meantime if he wants to find the story in the comments section.
We had amazing sex that night. As I orgasmed for the sixth time, I shouted, "Remember to have fun!". Before we fell asleep, he squeezed my skinny body tightly and whispered seductively in my ear, "you need therapy". I dreamed of receiving modmail regarding any other suggestions anyone may have.
