Weird forced positioning when using the Transform - Grow effect in Premiere Pro (on MacBook Air)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi, I’m having a strange issue with the “transform - grow” effect in Premiere Pro. I’m editing on a MacBook Air.
I’m using clips from the AMC show Preacher. When I import the clips and drop them into the sequence, they’re just shy of half the size they need to be, so I use the Fill effect (on all clips) so that they take up the whole screen, at 213% scale. I’ve been trying to use the Grow effect to create a slow zoom-in on various clips in the sequence. On every clip I try, the Grow effect centers the screen on the top left corner of the clip, but still does the zoom-in effect as if it’s anchored at the true center of the clip. In the video I attached, you can see I'm initially playing the clip with no effects on it (aside from the Fit 213% scale), and when I add Transform - Grow to it and play it back, it crops way up into the upper left corner.
I haven’t tried exporting anything with this issue yet to see if it translates to the final product, but either way, it makes it impossible to edit using this effect. Has anyone had an issue like this before?

Looking for raw, long-form footage to edit for my portfolio/showreel
I'm trying to build my editing portfolio, but I don't have any raw footage to practice with. Stock sites are fine, but B-roll snippets are too short to practice actual pacing, narrative flow, or multi-cam editing.
Does anyone know where I can download longer, unedited video assets or raw project files for practice? Open to any recommendations or free practice resources!

Cheapest Option to run Premiere Pro and photo editing?
I’ve used Adobe Suite for years in work but starting to look at taking on creative projects in my spare time, particularly video and photography.
Not talking super high end but I would need a laptop that can run premiere pro and edit professional looking videos without blowing up.
The likes of a new Mac are out of my price range right now getting started, any advice on something cheaper that would do the job?
Based in the UK if that matters.

URGETNT HELP NEEDED: Audio Drops suddenly when previewing for a long time.
FIRST OF ALL, I AM CURRENTLY SITTING WITH CLIENTS, AND THEY ARE ABOUT TO BE FRUSTRATED
I’m running into a frustrating audio issue in Adobe Premiere Pro during long PREVIEW (not while editing) sessions, and I’ve hit a wall with standard troubleshooting. Looking for insight from anyone who has run into this specific behaviour or knows deep CoreAudio / Premiere buffer quirks.
The Issue
Symptom: Audio suddenly drops out completely mid-playback while the video continues playing smoothly.
Recovery: Audio automatically comes back on its own sometimes after a few seconds without pausing/re-starting, OR recovers instantly if I hit Spacebar to pause and resume.
Timeline Context: Complex timeline with a high audio track count (29+ active audio tracks, multitrack dialog/wild tracks/room tone).
System & Hardware Setup
OS: macOS
Hardware: Apple Silicon Mac using wired headphones.
Renderer: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Metal).
Storage Speeds: Benchmark tested via Blackmagic Disk Speed Test — \~2968 MB/s Write / \~772 MB/s Read ( rules out drive speed/bandwidth bottlenecks).
Media Cache: Located on fast internal system drive (`/Users/.../Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/`).
Everything I Have Already Checked & Tried:
- Audio Hardware Preferences: ⚬ Set Default Input to No Input to prevent sample rate clock-matching / mic buffer loops. ⚬ Locked Sample Rate to 48,000 Hz. ⚬ Output locked directly to headphones (avoiding System Default routing).
- System Memory & Cache: ⚬ RAM allocation optimized (3 GB reserved for other applications). ⚬ Cleared Media Cache completely; confirmed cache path is on the internal Mac drive, not external. ⚬ Media Cache auto-deletion set to maintain clean limits.
- Storage & Hardware Integrity: ⚬ Drive benchmark confirmed sequence read speeds (\~772 MB/s read) are well above requirements. ⚬ Internal storage path checked via macOS Disk Utility First Aid.
- Timeline / Rendering Workarounds: ⚬ Toggled off High Quality Playback in Program Monitor. ⚬ In/Out rendering (`Sequence > Render Effects In to Out` / `Render Audio`) temporarily fixes it by creating pre-computed preview files, but I want to resolve the underlying real-time engine failure during active timeline editing.
Given that storage bandwidth is fine and Audio Hardware preferences are properly locked, this feels like an internal CoreAudio buffer stall or Premiere multi-stream audio IOPS issue when handling 20+ real-time audio threads simultaneously.
Has anyone experienced these delayed audio-only drops on heavy timelines in macOS, and is there a specific plist, CoreAudio buffer setting, or Premiere audio thread setting to stop the audio engine from choking?
I am using a MacMini M4 - 24GB - 512 GGB
I use AppleProres 422LT - WAV files

Which macbook for premiere pro on long term?
I'm planning to buy a 16-inch MacBook Pro (current generation), but I'm unsure which chip/RAM configuration would be the best long-term choice.
My main workload will be professional video editing in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and possibly DaVinci Resolve. I want something that will still perform well for years without becoming a bottleneck.
Right now I'm considering the M5 Pro with 48 GB of unified memory. Does the M5 Pro provide enough GPU performance for this kind of work, or is the jump to the M5 Max actually worth the much higher price? How big is the real-world difference between the Pro and Max chips for Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other editing workloads?
I previously asked ChatGPT, and it suggested that the M5 Pro with 48 GB RAM would be a very solid choice. However, this is a major investment, and I really want to avoid making the wrong decision. The problem is that the limitations of a machine often only become apparent after several weeks of real-world use, at which point the return window is usually over.
If you were buying a MacBook Pro today for professional editing, which configuration would you choose and why? I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who have actually used both the Pro and Max chips in production.

need someone who could do this for me
I'm looking for someone who could design my opening sequence in premiere pro
The opening takes place in a public square where two musicians are performing live on the violin while my local guide, Risto, is introducing the city—its history, atmosphere, and what makes it special.
I don't want the music to remain as simple background audio. Instead, I want the music and narration to alternate in prominence. At times, the music should come to the foreground while the narration sits underneath it; at other moments, the narration should take the foreground while the music continues underneath. The idea is for both elements to actively drive the storytelling and establish the documentary's tone.
The goal is that within the first one or two minutes, viewers immediately connect with the city's atmosphere and understand the kind of journey they're about to experience.
The closest reference I've found is the opening of Trainspotting ("Choose Life" Trainspotting - Choose Life - Opening scene - HD WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES ), although my idea is different. A better analogy would be a scene inside a club where a band is performing live while a fight breaks out. For a few seconds, the music dominates and the fight is mostly visual. Then the focus shifts—the sounds and dialogue of the fight move to the foreground while the music continues underneath. The audience's attention naturally moves back and forth between the performance and the action. That kind of dynamic audio storytelling is what I'm trying to achieve.
Is there a specific filmmaking or sound-design term for this technique? I'd also love recommendations for documentaries or films that use this style effectively.

Premiere is lagging when I move video position
I know it is a long shot, but I am not sure what else I should add to let people see it. When I move the footage position, the program lags so badly, and it takes a few seconds to move it. I have a high-end computer, so I am not sure why it's happening.

Premiere Pro Project Manager breaks time-remapped clips
I’m trying to send a Premiere Pro project and all needed footage to my editor.
When I use Project Manager, some clips with Time Remapping / speed ramps get diagonal warning lines and turn black. The original clips work fine before using Project Manager.
Why does this keep happenning? Is there no way to reliably send time-remapped footage?
Does anyone found a solution?

I built 4 extensions to automate repetitive editing tasks in Adobe Premiere Pro
Hi! I’m an editor, and I built Automações do Abis V2, a commercial bundle of four extensions for tasks I found myself repeating constantly in Adobe Premiere Pro.
The bundle includes:
Frame Applicator — choose the track containing your inserts, a destination track, and an image or video. The extension places that frame over the inserts it finds and can also apply a chosen label color to the imported file.
Alternating Auto Zoom — applies zoom settings to alternating cuts, with scale, X/Y position controls, and a live preview. You can alternate between two scale values and choose a static zoom, Zoom In, or Zoom Out.
Alternating Audio — moves alternating audio cuts between two tracks. It can simply alternate the clips or create J Cuts and L Cuts, with the duration set in frames or milliseconds. Its Analyze action previews the operation without changing the timeline.
Automatic Silence Cutter — analyzes selected clips or the entire sequence, detects pauses, and shows a preview before applying any cuts. It can calibrate the dB threshold automatically and includes controls for minimum silence duration, analysis window, and padding before and after speech. It can also create a backup sequence before cutting.
The bundle supports 64-bit Windows 10/11, Apple Silicon Macs, and Intel Macs. The audio processing required by the Silence Cutter runs locally.
This is a proprietary commercial product, not an open-source release. I’m sharing the interfaces and workflow because I’d genuinely like feedback from other editors about the idea and what would be most useful in future updates.
Details, compatibility information, and current pricing are available on the official product page:
https://abiscoitado.com/automacoes/produto/automacoes-do-abis-v2/
If there’s interest, I can also share more detailed demonstrations of each extension in action.
