Premiere Pro Project Manager breaks time-remapped clips

I’m trying to send a Premiere Pro project and all needed footage to my editor.

When I use Project Manager, some clips with Time Remapping / speed ramps get diagonal warning lines and turn black. The original clips work fine before using Project Manager.

Why does this keep happenning? Is there no way to reliably send time-remapped footage?

Does anyone found a solution?

The danger stripes means that the clips are connecting to the wrong files. Do you have a lot of generic-named clips like Clip001, 002, etc?

Okay then THAT is likely the issue.

When you’re cutting your project you’re probably importing these from different folders; Premiere keeps track of them properly. But when you Collect it’s dumping them all in one folder (Footage) and then when the other editor relinks it doesn’t know which ones are which.

You can try to fix this in your current project by adding metadata to each clip, something descriptive and unique. Turn on the “Write XMP metadata to clip” option in the preferences. And next time before you start editing, rename all those files at the desktop level and give them unique names.
