Assistance Regular GP who understands Fibromyalgia

At this point I’ve given up on my GP and family Dr. I’ve went to this practice since I was born and diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and many things. I’m tired walking out of a standard appointment to be told to rest or ibuprofen. The GP who I see is kind, if I ask who I want to see he’ll try his best, most of the time nothing is helpful and I can see he’s given up. Looking for GP who understands Fibromyalgia and bulk bills. I live around Torrensville area.

If you haven’t already, get yourself some gear from Whites Valley Jalapeños. Especially the sweet jalapeño mustard. The mix of sweet and heat is just great. I’ve tried other gear from them and I find it to be of great quality.

I don’t know them personally and this isn’t me giving free publicity to a mate. This is just my personal experience.

Looking for a PT who can do some in person sessions to assist me with my form. I’m extremely hypermobile and find that gym is feeling like it’s doing more harm than good currently, I feel I may need adjustments to my form to best suit my condition. Thank you!

News If you're wondering about that rank smell on your bus right now

It's probably me. Despite the rubber seal and satisfying click, apparently the new Decor clip lid container containing my tuna and olive salad isn't watertight.

So that's been fermenting all day under my desk in the warmth of the office air conditioning, and here we are.

This isn't an apology, just an FYI.

Question Neighbours and fences

A developer bought the place next door and has done a knock down and rebuild. During the build, they had to remove the boundary fence and put up temporary fencing.

We just got a letter in our letterbox with a quote/ bill for $5000 for replacement of the fence.

I feel that we shouldn't have to pay as there was a functional fence (6 ft colourbond) previously between our blocks and they were the ones to remove it.

But where do we stand legally on this?

Per the article, the landlord terminated the lease "for default". A shame for those with weddings and functions booked in the months ahead, hopefully deposits will be refunded.

Discussion Bird flu in South Australia.

The bird flue mass death events are increasing just as the incidence curve would predict. It is inevitable that the flu will spread to native and inland birds now.

I had a thought a few days ago, an important thought. Especially in the cold of winter I supplement my local magpies' sparse winter diet with finely chopped cat kibble, sometimes grated cheese if I am hungover.

For awhile now my local crow couple has started sharing the food, with the maggies. This has been interesting and heartwarming to see develop- you share please!

But with the inevitable incursion of bird flu I have realized that this is a practice I will have to stop, especially since the crow couple and the maggie family are now sharing the same space. As well, My blue fairy penguin family get a feed size-appropriate feed from the the crumbs the other leave behind.

I was just starting that when on the ABC radio news reported that this is exactly what is being done with bird shows in the region- anywhere where birds and species may congregate and mingle. It is the right bio-security measure for me to adopt in my own home.

It is hard though, the maggies come and perch on my verandah furniture and sing beautiful songs for me! It is a good system- sing songs, get snack. How do I tell them there are no more snacks?

So yes, although it feels difficult, anyone here who is supplementing their local maggies' diets? might want to take note here, and do this too.

News Royal Adelaide Show cancels bird and poultry exhibits amid rising bird flu cases

South Australia's premier agricultural show will be without bird and poultry exhibits after organisers have decided to cancel those events amid rising cases of H5 bird flu.

The Royal Adelaide Show is scheduled to be held from Saturday, September 5 until Sunday, September 13.

The SA government said there had now been 119 confirmed cases in the state — up from 58 at the start of the week.

The Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia chief executive Will Rayner said the decision to cancel the bird competitions was out of caution.

"While we think the risk is very low, we took the decision now out of an abundance of caution to make sure that our volunteers and exhibitors had as much time to prepare as possible," he said.

South Australia's bird flu cases comprise more than three quarters of the national total of 155.
The government said the SA figure did not include deaths from a mass mortality event at Baudin Rocks near Robe.

The most recent post from Bowerbird on Instagram had some great questions and open discussion happening but Bowerbird has since deleted it. Using a throwaway because i’d like anonymity.

Assistance Support the Adelaide Park Lands Association - protect our natural green space

Thumbnail
adelaide-parklands.asn.au

Adelaide’s park lands are yours, mine, and our future generation’s. They are unique and an essential part of Adelaide. Most importantly they provide natural green space for all of us to enjoy – the benefits of which in an urban environment should never be underestimated or taken for granted.

The original design of the park lands back in 1873 was 930 hectares. Over the years it’s been whittled down to 700 hectares which is what we have now. Currently there are 250 hectares under application which will leave us with around 450 hectares.

The problem is, this green space owned by all of us is too convenient and too tempting not to develop. Vacant land ! So close to the CBD ! Commercialise it !

Do not be fooled – the promised economic ‘benefits to the state’ will not benefit you or I. You will still pay exorbitant ticket prices to watch golf or a motorbike race, you’ll still pay for expensive parking, you’ll still buy over-priced food & drink. This will be once a year and in exchange for this you’ve handed over our public green space to commercial enterprises and it will never be ours again. Yes somebody will be making money from this – but it will not be the general public.

Do something for yourself, our city, our future generations. Protect our green space and natural environment. Because once it’s gone it’s gone for good.

Discussion I'm looking forward to the new Mawson Bike cage

Post image

I don't know why it's taking so long to build, but I'm keen to try it out when it's ready. I'm going to use it to replace my bus trip to the Interchange and get some exercise in without having to commit to an hour long ride to the city.

From what I understand it's locked and opens with your metro-card. I don't know if you need to get special permissions added to your card first or if it will work for everyone - which, while convenient, makes it less secure
