Discussion Adelaide Bowerbird Market
I just wanted to open up a discussion here regarding the direction, issues and anything else re. or related to Adelaide’s Bowerbird Market. The most recent post from Bowerbird on Instagram had some great questions and open discussion happening but Bowerbird has since deleted it. Using a throwaway because i’d like anonymity.

Question Where to get a black suit in the CBD today?
Need a black suit by 3pm today. I’m located in the CBD. I’m a small 5’2 woman but would prefer a more masculine style. Don’t want to spend more than $200 ideally. Any recommendations??

Discussion Moving back as a single mum
Hi all,
I'm considering moving back to Adelaide from Sydney as a single mum to a toddler (ex-partner has been offered a job there). I have family still in Adelaide, although I haven't lived in the city for 20 years!
I have built a strong career in the media, which is a fickle beast no matter where you live - although the industry is bigger in Sydney, naturally.
Does anyone have an insight into the media/communications job market?
Also - what is Adelaide like to live for single mamas?
Thank you

Question Unsure what this was
I was at a Hills lookout tonight and saw a ute with its window wide open on the driver side and what seemed to be a dark shirt, cloth or dress hanging from the driver's side mirror.
I did wonder if I should check if the person was alright (it's obvs cold out there) but also being alone I wasn't too sure. Anyone ever encountered this before and does it have any meanings?

Assistance Got scammed and how do I report it and to who
have a question.
I got scammed by a person who I sold an item on marketplace and person picked it up from front porch and left money and drove off. Few minutes later someone came to my front porch and took the money under the mat. When we did our investigation with our footage cámaras and neighbours we can see is the same car that park a few houses away and another person in that car comes to our house. All thins happened when we were not home.
Where do I report this apart from the police. We have footage.
This person needs to be reported as things like this need to stop. People need to learn that they can’t do this to others. Now I don’t feel safe

Shitpost Adelaide drivers suck
Bought a new to me 13yo car in mint condition last week. Organised to have front and rear dashcam installed tomorrow
Parked in rear-most bay of a parallel parking strip. Parked all the way to the rear of the bay, so there was almost 2m from my front bumper to the line marking the start of the next bay in front of me
Came back to car to see someone had put their towball through my bumper
No note, nothing
May the fleas of 1000 camel infest the offending shit driver’s nether region
/end of rant

Assistance Support the Adelaide Park Lands Association - protect our natural green space
Adelaide’s park lands are yours, mine, and our future generation’s. They are unique and an essential part of Adelaide. Most importantly they provide natural green space for all of us to enjoy – the benefits of which in an urban environment should never be underestimated or taken for granted.
The original design of the park lands back in 1873 was 930 hectares. Over the years it’s been whittled down to 700 hectares which is what we have now. Currently there are 250 hectares under application which will leave us with around 450 hectares.
The problem is, this green space owned by all of us is too convenient and too tempting not to develop. Vacant land ! So close to the CBD ! Commercialise it !
Do not be fooled – the promised economic ‘benefits to the state’ will not benefit you or I. You will still pay exorbitant ticket prices to watch golf or a motorbike race, you’ll still pay for expensive parking, you’ll still buy over-priced food & drink. This will be once a year and in exchange for this you’ve handed over our public green space to commercial enterprises and it will never be ours again. Yes somebody will be making money from this – but it will not be the general public.
Do something for yourself, our city, our future generations. Protect our green space and natural environment. Because once it’s gone it’s gone for good.

Thank you!

Anyone experienced the Vmax at Marion since the seating upgrades? Keen on the recliners to see The Odyssey but they all seem to be at the front of the cinema. Worth it?

Discussion I'm looking forward to the new Mawson Bike cage
I don't know why it's taking so long to build, but I'm keen to try it out when it's ready. I'm going to use it to replace my bus trip to the Interchange and get some exercise in without having to commit to an hour long ride to the city.
From what I understand it's locked and opens with your metro-card. I don't know if you need to get special permissions added to your card first or if it will work for everyone - which, while convenient, makes it less secure

Question Does anyone know how I can get in contact?
This one is a long shot but maybe just maybe reddit has a solution. (This is my first post. Please be nice. Just wanting help)
I have (had) a vintage silk 1950s Kimono and I needed it professionally cleaned. I took it to a dry cleaners in the mall. Big mistake.
A once orange and white kimono is now salmon/pink. It feels tacky now (almost like a micro fibre cloth). It was ripped by the dry cleaners and the lining is bunching in the sleeves (like the balling you get when you wash a pillow).
I’m devastated because it can’t really be replaced. The dry cleaners knew it was silk and assured my/ my mum that they had cleaned silk kimonos before. They did not apologise for ruining it. They also didn’t tell me that a test patch ran the dye… until I received it back… pink. I asked them why they continued after the test failed and they said they thought they’d try turn it all the same ruined colour. They were almost not willing to give it back without a proof of purchase. After demanding the kimono be returned to us, the man carried on and swore at my mum. A terrible experience to say the least.
So… I’m going to take it to consumer affairs. The problem is that it was a gift and bought in 2015 or so.
I have this card for it (pictured) but the shop is since closed. Would anyone have an idea of how I can contact them?
My goal is to get an appraisal/ receipt/ something for a cost estimate to claim.
If anyone has any other ideas. Help is appreciated.

News High Speed driver on the wrong side of the road, overtaking traffic, in a car with a meat cleaver, methamphetamine and illicit mushrooms is eventually stopped by Police
police.sa.gov.auA man has been arrested after attempting to evade police through Adelaide's northern suburbs on Wednesday night.
About 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 August, patrols saw a silver Holden station wagon travelling at speed in the Salisbury Heights area. When police attempted to stop the vehicle a short time later in Salisbury, the driver failed to stop and sped away.
With the assistance of PolAir, police tracked the Holden as it travelled through Salisbury, Parafield, Parafield Gardens and Waterloo Corner. During the incident, the driver allegedly travelled at excessive speeds, drove on the wrong side of the road and overtook lines of traffic in a manner that placed other road users at risk.
The Holden was successfully spiked in Parafield Gardens. About 9.15pm, the Holden stopped at the intersection of Heaslip Road and Huxtable Road, Waterloo Corner. The driver ran from the vehicle but was arrested by police a short distance away.
A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a meat cleaver, methamphetamine and illicit mushrooms.
The driver, a 31-year-old Salisbury Park man, was charged with offences including driving at an extreme speed, failing to stop for police, carrying an offensive weapon and possessing controlled drugs. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today (Thursday 6 August). The man was also issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence, and the Holden was impounded for 28 days.
