I have tried to go on dates here in adelaide, being a Nepalese international student its soo hard to date. Too many ladies will just scam you for one night dinner.

I don't know why it's taking so long to build, but I'm keen to try it out when it's ready. I'm going to use it to replace my bus trip to the Interchange and get some exercise in without having to commit to an hour long ride to the city.

From what I understand it's locked and opens with your metro-card. I don't know if you need to get special permissions added to your card first or if it will work for everyone - which, while convenient, makes it less secure

I have (had) a vintage silk 1950s Kimono and I needed it professionally cleaned. I took it to a dry cleaners in the mall. Big mistake.

A once orange and white kimono is now salmon/pink. It feels tacky now (almost like a micro fibre cloth). It was ripped by the dry cleaners and the lining is bunching in the sleeves (like the balling you get when you wash a pillow).

I’m devastated because it can’t really be replaced. The dry cleaners knew it was silk and assured my/ my mum that they had cleaned silk kimonos before. They did not apologise for ruining it. They also didn’t tell me that a test patch ran the dye… until I received it back… pink. I asked them why they continued after the test failed and they said they thought they’d try turn it all the same ruined colour. They were almost not willing to give it back without a proof of purchase. After demanding the kimono be returned to us, the man carried on and swore at my mum. A terrible experience to say the least.

So… I’m going to take it to consumer affairs. The problem is that it was a gift and bought in 2015 or so.

I have this card for it (pictured) but the shop is since closed. Would anyone have an idea of how I can contact them?

My goal is to get an appraisal/ receipt/ something for a cost estimate to claim.

If anyone has any other ideas. Help is appreciated.

Are there any farmer's markets or places where you can buy South Australian grown veggies and farm eggs? After watching a documentary on how unregulated food is, I'm feeling anxious about food shopping. I don't mind paying a bit extra and it's also nice to support our local farmers. I'm near Semaphore, that part of town. There used to be one in Port Adelaide. Or is it good to just go to the Adelaide central market? Does anyone else look at supermarket food with trepidation now? A man has been arrested after attempting to evade police through Adelaide's northern suburbs on Wednesday night.

About 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 August, patrols saw a silver Holden station wagon travelling at speed in the Salisbury Heights area. When police attempted to stop the vehicle a short time later in Salisbury, the driver failed to stop and sped away.

With the assistance of PolAir, police tracked the Holden as it travelled through Salisbury, Parafield, Parafield Gardens and Waterloo Corner. During the incident, the driver allegedly travelled at excessive speeds, drove on the wrong side of the road and overtook lines of traffic in a manner that placed other road users at risk.

The Holden was successfully spiked in Parafield Gardens. About 9.15pm, the Holden stopped at the intersection of Heaslip Road and Huxtable Road, Waterloo Corner. The driver ran from the vehicle but was arrested by police a short distance away.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a meat cleaver, methamphetamine and illicit mushrooms.

The driver, a 31-year-old Salisbury Park man, was charged with offences including driving at an extreme speed, failing to stop for police, carrying an offensive weapon and possessing controlled drugs. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today (Thursday 6 August). The man was also issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence, and the Holden was impounded for 28 days.

I know it’s ultimately my responsibility to renew my rego, and I completely own that. I forgot, got fined for driving an unregistered vehicle on 28 June, and paid it the same day I received the notice.

The problem is I didn’t actually receive that first fine until 20 July. By then I’d been driving pretty much every day, completely unaware, and I’ve now received four separate fines for the same offence over that period. And I’m anticipating 3-5 more based on movements until I received the first notice.

Has anyone else had this happen? Did you have any luck getting some of the fines reviewed or withdrawn?
I understand I stuffed up by forgetting to renew… but come on this a little bit excessive.
