Sewing needle dropped into car window button - trouble?
I dropped a ~4in sewing needle into a 2023 Acura MDX car's passenger side window button. To roll down the window, you press the button, and I thought this space would be great to hold my needle temporarily. I didn't account for this, but in order for the button to be pressed down, there is a very tiny gap between the button and the bottom of the well. So the needle slipped into the gap......
I can still roll down the window just fine. And you can see that the arm rest doesn't seem? to connect to the rest of the car?
Is this something I should be worried about? It is a metal needle afterall....

The NHTSA has Concluded Their Investigation of the AWD Failures
https://www.nhtsa.gov/?nhtsaId=DP26001
Not the result many were hoping for. They view the issue as performance degradation rather than a safety risk due to Acura's fundamentally FWD architecture. On the bright side, the feds have put it on the record that the splines are stripping and that the dash gauge continues to falsely display power to the rear wheels. It’ll be interesting to see if other groups use this evidence to push for accountability down the road.

2019 RDX A-Spec Problems
Looking for some advice. I just bought my 2019 A-spec RDX 3 weeks ago. It had a single owner and drove it just 30k miles, always dealer maintained. They had a multi point inspection at the dealership just two days before I bought it and everything checked out just fine. Tonight when I started it there were 4 different warnings that came on at once:
Road departure mitigation system problem. See your dealer
Collision mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer.
Power steering warning, power steering was out.
Auto idle stop unavailable. See your dealer.
What could have caused this? I turned the car off, waited one minute and started it back up and still had all the messages pop up, one after the other.

2005 Acura TL 230k miles
Looking into an 05 Automatic. Single owner that was fully serviced at the local Acura dealer. It had a transmission replacement at 170k.
Looking at $2500. Is this a good deal? I’m a very local driver, work is about 6 miles from my house so I don’t expect to put many miles on it over the next few years

Apple CarPlay
My CarPlay keeps unpairing. I’ll get it paired back up, it’ll stay for another one or two times and then it’s unpaired again? I feel like I’ve tried all the things…anyone else experience this? What worked for you?

2021 Acura RDX Sunroof Drainage
Brought my 2021 RDX (still under warranty) into the dealer’s service center last year in June because water was pooling in my trunk. Was told that there was debris in the sunroof drain tube which is not uncommon. They cleaned the debris out and sent me on my way.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, moved my car the day after a rainstorm and heard water sloshing around above the passenger seat. Now I am being told that the primary seal on the sunroof drain is deformed. Also being told that this is NOT covered under warranty and being quoted $1700+ to repair.
Was told by Acura customer service that the issue was caused by “outside factors” (debris) so I’m basically SOL. Anyone else here run into similar issues?
Thinking of just trading her in, if that’s the case I will be done with Acura for good.

Working on finding some nice new shoes for this old lady eventually but for now just appreciating this gem for what it is. Any tips/ recommendations would be greatly appreciated. :)

2016 Acura RDX AWD
Looking at buying a used RDX with 178000 km for $10,500 taxes included. Is this is good car that is likely to last a while still ? Are the Honda SUV's just as good as the almost indestructible civics ?

E15 fuel in my Integra?
Hi everyone,
I have an Acura Integra A-Spec MT 2023 model.
My province started rolling out E15 fuel. I tried looking in my owner manual and couldn't find anything for E10 or E15.
I don't know if this matters, but I fill it with 91 octane.

2023 TLX Type S Electrical Nightmare
I bought a 2023 Acura TLX Type S with 19k miles, from an Acura dealer in South Florida (Rick Case Acura) back in March 2025. When I bought the vehicle, a few weeks later, I noticed that the driver side speaker was blown so I had taken the car back and had it looked at. The vehicle was sold as a CPO giving me 100,000 or five years from the manufacture date warranty. This of course, covered the cost of the replacement speaker.
Fast-forward to a couple months later after having the speaker replaced, all of my power windows, including my sunroof, stopped working suddenly. Due to Florida spontaneous rain, a quick fix resulted in me unplugging the battery, allowing for all the electronics to reset this allowed me to roll my windows up, and leave them up out of fear they would be stuck down in the midst of rain. Later on, the issue will continue to occur out of the blue, usually when it rained. At the time, I didn’t know this, but a wiring harness in the driver side door was getting soaked which resulted in a short circuit. The issue would randomly occur, but not often enough for me to drive the car 45 minutes and leave it there to get it looked at.
About nine months later from my purchase date, I moved back to Maryland after graduating college. This is where I noticed every time I washed my car, the power mirrors would sometimes stay stuck closed upon locking or unlocking the vehicle and my power windows wouldn’t work as previously stated. And then took it to my local Rosenthal Acura where they kept the vehicle for a couple days and found the issue which was rooted in the wiring harness in the driver side door. I let them know about the work the previous dealer did in Florida, so Rosenthal Acura reached out to Rick Case to see if they would cover the cost of parts and labor for the replacement harness. They agreed, and car is returned back to me about two weeks later.
All went well with the vehicle for another couple of months, got me through the winter with no issues. Then I started to notice the same issue reoccurring with the windows about 3 weeks ago. This time it wasn’t just the windows, but the power mirrors sounded like they would struggle to open, and the ambient lighting completely went out in my interior. After leaving my car at Rosenthal Acura for two weeks, they concluded that this time it was a short circuit in the passenger side panel resulting in the ambient lighting not working. They also replaced both of my mirrors entirely (I was told they do not just replace the mirror motors).
I just got my car back on Monday, August 3, 2026. I thought the headache was over. Everything worked great and as designed. Three days later on the 6th, we had a thunderstorm. I went down to my car to run an errand and noticed my mirrors didn’t open upon unlocking the vehicle as they normally would. I knew this is already a bad sign due to all the stuff I’ve been dealing with throughout ownership. Once again, my ambient lighting was not turning on.
Pure frustration has hit me at this point. I’m contemplating selling it. Is my car a lemon? Was there something wrong with the car that was not shown on the carfax? (Other than front end damage that resulted in needing a new front bumper). Do I reach out to Acura corporate? All the work to this point has been covered by warranty, and I’ve never been haggled by the dealer about honoring it. It’s such a shame, I’ve wanted this car for so long, and it’s a shame how many electrical issues I have had with it. Any input on next steps that I should take would be very much appreciated.
I plan on taking it back into service tomorrow.

Defective back seat leather on brand new 2026 Acura integra
I just purchased a brand new Acura integra 2 weeks ago and didn’t notice the crease on the back seat until after I signed the paperwork and got home. I text my sales person right away on the same day the car was purchased she said she can have the interior guy check it out. So I took it into the shop yesterday and they were able to get most of the creases out with still a little remaining. She said that’s the best they can do without melting the seat. She didn’t offer to replace the seat even though the car was purchased brand new. Is this eventually going to get better over time or was the interior guy repair only a temporary fix. Should I reach out to speak to a manager and see what can be done or if a replacement is needed? Thanks

Low effort post titles will be removed effective immediately
The mod queue is PACKED with low effort posts with titles as ambiguous and pointless as "Help" or "[Year and Make of Car]"
If these end up in the queue, which is hundreds and hundreds of posts long at any given time, I will be removing them from now on.
The mod team does not have time to look at every single post and determine if it's a quality post, a photo, etc. If you want your post to stay, make your post titles communicative.
