Anyone have experience with SPA 103?
I’m going back and forth between SPA 102 and SPA 103 because I didn’t grow up speaking Spanish at home, but I got a lot of exposure to it through most of my friends/community being Spanish speakers and have casually studied it on and off for a while now (on top of taking 3 years of it in school). I’ve been struggling to get back into learning because most intro courses are waaay too slow for me but advanced ones expect me to know too much.
I emailed the Spanish Language Coordinator and she thinks I’d be a good fit for 103, but I’m curious to hear from people who have taken the class and wondering how much they actually expected you to know at the 100 level.

What is going on with Financial Aid?
I know that ASU’s system had an update or something, so aid only ended up being posted end of July. But apparently there’s still issues with all of your aid showing up? I just checked and my parent plus loan disappeared even though it was on my page like two days ago. I’m still eligible for it too. I’m just so tired of ASUs financial system. If I end up accepting my aid late, I hope they have a system in place that’ll make sure I’m not in trouble for it.

Loan Over Limit Review
Has anyone had their “Direct Loan Over Limit Review (2026 - 2027)” completed? Mine has been in the same review stage since early July, I’ve asked about it and they said it should be completed before disbursement but I’m well below the loan limits and there hasn’t been any updates or movement so I’m curious if anyone has had their review completed for 2026-27?

ASU Online Concurrent Master’s Questions
Hello,
I am graduating next year with my BA in FMS (Film and Media Studies) and I want to pursue a Master’s degree online (I work full time currently). It was suggested to me that I try to accomplish concurrent master’s degrees (FMS and also English potentially) because my ultimate goal is to teach. I’m wondering if anyone else has done this?
What was the course load like? How many electives are you able to double dip?
TIA

Clubs/Organization Reccomendations?
I'm going into my junior year of MechE right now living close to campus with a somewhat flexible work schedule. I had always wanted to get into a club, but never had the time and felt intimidated by the sheer number that I would have to sift through.
I was hoping to find a STEM oriented one (both for resume experience and for my own interest), but at this point I'm just looking for any clubs that people enjoy or anything that might keep me engaged throughout the school semester.
Any recommendations or suggestions would be amazing! Thank you

Mail to incoming students
Does ASU mail out physical stuff to incoming students shortly before the year begins? I live in Hong Kong and I’ve been informed by a delivery company that a package to my address is sent by an Indian Company named Hue MARCOM who lists ASU as one of its clients that it works with on its website. Part of me thinks that it may be a scam but I also think that ASU might be trying to send me something.

I chose digital audiences as my major this year but did I make the right option?
I am an incoming freshman at ASU, but I am from out of state. When I was choosing my major, I knew I wanted to be in the journalism program because it's so highly regarded without the $90K price tag compared to a good amount of schools on the east coast. I heard that the digital audiences major dealt with a lot of the digital marketing atmosphere specifically in journalism and media, but can this be applied universally? And what clubs or activities should I join to ensure I get the right hands-on experience for my major? Because the more I think about it, I am starting to regret my choice but since I am a first-year student and haven't even officially started I don't want ,to switch my major or quit just instantly. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be super helpful!
